Pizza Flix. Where on earth do you find these fabulous films? You're a genius. A real-life cinematic gumshoe, seeking out films that have been hidden for decades. As for the film itself, even though it was made 2 years after the Production Code commenced, it portrayed characters who were morally questionable, yet likeable and forgiveable. It had a very modern feel about it, especially the performance of Joan Marsh.
PizzaFLIX is"The Island of Misfit Toys" for old films & TV shows. We rescue the titles that producers have neglected and discarded and give them a home where they can be loved and appreciated. Thanks for watching! May the Sauce be with you.
I agree, great job 🍕! I have watched TCM for decades and I can’t recall the last time I’ve seen a ‘new’ release of a classic. I’m amazed at the quality of the films themselves as well as the content. Thank you so very much for posting all of these wonderful gems. Keep on saucin’
This is the kind of movies I used to watch with my mother, without trashy talk and cheap bedroom show it all. This type of movies leaves me with a nice feelings. Thank you PizzaFlix
I will always LOVE the way they showed who was in the film , as in this movie...the best way to show the credits for the actors ! Why did they ever cease ? Thank you for another great film !
That's a good point when you show the actor's name and the characters they play at the beginning of the movie it kind of helps set it up for you as opposed to waiting to the end when people usually turn away and walk out. Many of these Vince's movies were based upon theatrical performances
Thank you pizza Flix for all you have uploaded for the people who love the great oldies , and done from your heart ! Not EXSPECT ing anything for it, so here's a sending of great thanks for all you do , may you be blessed !
Sitting here with a cold, cup of hot tea and tissues. These movies always are uplifting even when you feel awful! Thanks Pizzaflix! We want more, more, more!
Pretty dang great! From start to finish a perfect storyline of total substance we'll developed characters. Just enough twist and turns to keep you guessing to the very end. And if course the most beautiful dressed 👗 to the nines fabulous fashions! Thank you for sharing this timeless classic. thatvi had never heard of before a true 💎 gem! 💎 💎
I know I sound just like so many others but I was born in the wrong decade.. I relate more to movies like this than anything current or from the last 50 years at the very least.. 😊
She said "Not good but loud" . Dick Powell also says that in 42nd Street. I always figured it was a play on a commercial or an ad that actually said, "not loud but good." But does anybody know what product that ad was for?
Hi pizza flix I have been a family member of use suscribers for five year now ,and I been also see other s come and go ,but your aways were THIER for me to get out of this wicked world for a while ,while drownding my mind in you glorious dramas you truly are the greatest in my books , God Blrss you and your familily !
Thanks for all the movies PizzaFlix and I always appreciate anyone who does all that work uploading classic movies. So this is no comment on you. But who could say that was a Brilliant Marriage? Two marriages based on lies and deceit, and the message being keep the classes apart, they won't be happy by mixing. More like 'Two Brilliant Divorces' :D
I've always loved B/W movies. Thank you so much for finding this one. Couldn't help but notice the reference to the Masons - Why can't ppl be square with you, on the level?
A trip back to a world long expired and we should all be thankful for that. One of antique, repressive cultural convention. Here a young woman from a wealthy society family finds her reputation and aspiration for a good life threatened not because of the kind of person she herself is but because of the disgraceful life her mother led. What other people think, right or wrong has the power to ruin lives. By association. The days when it was necessary to keep family secrets whatever the cost. Which made blackmail a lucrative criminal profession. Imagine Depression Era audiences watching this soap opera story of the rich and indolent who had nothing to do all day but indulge and entertain themselves, the champagne and caviar set, while so many in this country stood in bread lines desperate for that loaf of bread.
Sort of like watching Governor Newsom and friends dining at The French Laundry restaurant while the common people are locked down and wearing mandatory masks.
This unfortunately is how our political society is set up we are taught to judge people by their heritage rather than their own merits and individual contents of their character. This movie also shows how the media can be corrupt by sensationalizing and issue to the audience and using coercion and blackmail to the target. The media is a very powerful tool
@@redrb26dett oh, one thing for sure never changes. Since ancient eras into where humanity finds itself now, the 21st century and new millennium. How much money you have or don’t have. The world has always run this way where one shout out reigns: “Show us your money!”

Typical 30s so-called screwball comedy. Nice entertainment, but in real life someone could be seriously harmed doing the kind of things the female reporter character did.

It's why I prefer vintage films too. You know that you won't have to worry if there is going to be any gory scenes, vulgarity and soft porn action!

Nice. 😁
For a Park Avenue girl, she’s FAR too gullible and dull-witted. Screenplays always have exaggeration and distortion, but this film’s plot is absurd.
