Humans complain about so many things and yet this poor animal well taken care of her babies by herself. Animals are so much stronger than we are. I hope that she still alive with her children.
I have been to that mountain, simply amazing. I had no idea how it would touch me, the Gorillas and the men and woman who risk their lives to protect them. I'm 63 ole fart from US, had never been to Africa, my brother and I went, sept 2022, amazing trip. If you have ever thought about it, just go, the tour guides are great, I promise you, as I look back over my life this is right up there with top ten ... as they say, just do it, someone will read this and go, at least I hope so. Cheers, Pop's
They watch what the family is eating and how they act, thats how they learn everything. Thats why its so tragic if a mother gets killed or dies because without the mom the baby has little to no chance of making it since they rely so much on the mom for years.
During the nursing period of the first 1-2 years, yes these babies fully rely on their mother. But once the babies start eating solid food, it has been observed that in the tragic case of the mom dying, the dominant silverback (their dad) will actually take care of them (transport the baby on its back, let the baby sleep with him in the nest, teach the baby how to forage, play with him... basically everything except nursing), so once the babies can sustain themselves with solid food (which is actually quite early because the greens and vegies they eat in the rainforrest are quite a lot nutritious and more easily digestable compared to what other herbivores eat like grass and leafs), they actually have a good survival rate. The main reason gorilas die is poaching in 95% of cases (still even in 2021, although it has been greatly reduced thanks to 24/7 surveilance), the second cause of death is a new silverback becoming the new group leader and killing all the babies so that he can mate with the mothers sooner, and after all that are regular death from old age, sickness or injury. If poaching wasnt a thing, there would be tens of thousands of mountain gorillas, but because some people mainly from east Asia believe that some gorilla parts increase libido and sexual performance, or it is just cool to have gorilla furr, or gorilla teeth, or even skinned stuff with gorilla skin, and pay A LOT of money for it, poachers will keep poaching sadly...
Cuando vi este video con edta hermoss madre con sus bebes llore de alegria por la vida de esta familia y tambien ore porque esten bien con sus propias familias.
Snowball, where did you get that knowledge from? give me some things that I don't know, plsss. Or are you saying we come from lizards pls explain to me.
At first they breast feed. At that time in life they stay mostly around the stomach area. Mom holds them along with their little hands hanging on to her hair. After they get a little bit older they tend to switch to the back like in this video. Now its more of a piggy back ride instead of the mom having to do everything. When the mom stops they will start to check out whats going on.
Boy, Mom has her hands full with those 2 little angels. They are the picture of precious right now but when they hit those terrible two's...... She will have a small circus on her hands. 😀 God bless them all. And as always. I wish a slow horrible, painful death to all poachers, snare trapper's and pure trophy hunters.
300 million years ago we were little lizard-like things. Now look at us and how far we've come. I love synapsid diversity. Apologies if that cladistic sentiment seemed non-sensical. Not to mention biased against the sauropsid side of the amniote family tree. :-]
Wonderful! I hope the mother and these two cuties are always safe! She must be a strong mother.
I keep coming back to find my smile - those sweet innocent little babies. Praying that the humans do not destroy your world. 😢
