- I just can't get enough of them. I arrived at the zoo at 11.15 AM and went straight to the gorillas. I had enough food and lemonade with me, so no need to leave them LOL. I left when the zoo almost closed (6.55 PM). It's great to watch them, all of them ofcoursee, but especially the twin.
Idk why I’m so obsessed with the family dynamic of gorillas. It’s so much like human families
Except they are nicer and better parents than humans....

It’s amazing how newborns instinctively know how to hold onto mom. I love how she pats their backs like we do with our babies.
The way she pats her babies to keep them calm is so remarkably human it's amazing to me.

Many parents DO treat their children like that today, pampering them and never disciplining them for bad behavior. Even if that behavior involves abuse of the parent(s) themselves! I'm still waiting for the grand results that this method of parenting is going to allow to blossom in the world. No changes so far, at least no positive ones.

I noticed this too. Maybe more so than any other moms that I have seen. She looks Hypervigilant . I wonder if something happened before that makes her this way?
She is a great mom. You can tell she doesn’t want anyone else touching her babies. That’s all moms let us just bond
I can’t believe the babies are already able to hang on to mom for short periods without her even holding them. I could watch Chimp, Gorilla n Orangutan babies for hours and hours. I’d give anything to be able to work with them.
Just asking, why are they becoming extinct? Why? It's heartbreaking to think of it.

It's so human like- just like a lot of things they do along with the orangutans. I love them both. I could watch all day on my big screen going from video to video and enjoy my day in peace with some laughs.

How can you tell that she's proud? All she did was mate and produce offspring. There are bacterial cells that can combine their dna to essentially do the same thing.

A perfect mom to her adorable twins. I just love the way she pats her babies.
It's amazing how similar gorillas are to humans. The way she rubs their backs, kisses their heads, cuddles them tight is like every mom. The curious family members trying desperately to hold the babies tiny hands. You can see the sense of peace and contentment in the mom's eyes holding her babies. These baby gorillas also act exactly like new born human babies. This was amazing footage
For me, that's just the problem with them! The one on the (mother's) left, pulling on the available nipple but preferring to try to steal the one from the infant on the right, has already learned greed at 13 days old! They're also far too much like human babies to seem cute to me. I love just about all animals but monkeys and I think it's for this reason. Two things to add:
1)I'm not sure how much she's holding them tight as they're holding on to her tight. Research has found that infant primates who aren't human are born with the instinct to clutch on to their mothers for dear life.
2)Not everybody in a human family is obsessed with getting to touch or even see a new baby! Plenty of people don't like babies and I'm one of them. I try to keep as far from one as I possibly can. Give me a kitten or a puppy any day!
They are newborns; they need the mother to keep them safe in the wild. It is instinct. It is not necessarily human. It is for survival more than a human quality. All animals do similar things to keep their young safe and protected. All of them do not have paw like hands. They just have paws.
She is one of the best loving, caring, protective Moms, almost as great as Ginki! Big difference is she has twins! Beautiful! Especially loved 13:40 when Mom gently breathes & rubs her lips on one of her baby's cheek!

Мамашка прелесть. Видно что бывалая, пальчик сломан. Знает, как с дитями обращаться. Все время закрывала и долго не могла лечь. Двое подмышками болтаются, там и едят и испражняются, пахнет она огого) зато мелкие в целости. Самцу в глаза не смотрит, но рядом сидеть боится. Кто-то рядом прошел - тут же встала. А вначале подросток дергал мелкого за лапку - это старший ее ребенок, иначе не позволила бы трогать малыша. А мы думаем, что только людям тяжело с детьми. У людей хотя бы есть жалость и уступки беременным и родившим, в обществе, а приматы боятся из рук выпустить.

It’s really amazing that she’s able to raise two babies at the same time with not much help. In the Wild it would be super hard to get around until they are old enough n can hang on to mom without her holding them. Im absolutely fascinated with primate n monkey babies n their mothers. The babies are so ridiculously cute and the mothers are always so dedicated and caring it’s just amazing to watch.

Even though I have measured reservations regarding holding captive these wondrous creatures, she and all other species of the animal kingdom, I imagine that times caring for their young it would be much safer and hopefully healthier when mother and offspring are under human care . . . hopefully⁉️
