No GPS! Another great video Jason, thank you. I could not see the GPS data in the terminal window using cgps. Then checked my settings in the IC-705. You need GPS Out selected to on. i.e Menu>Set>Connectors>USB (B) Function>GPS Out - ON. Just a tip. You already know this but I just thought I should mention it for others who may have the same problem as myself. All good now. Thanks and 73's Bob

Just redid my build a pi yesterday. This video cam out at just the right time. Planning on getting the *%& out tomorrow and hooking it up so I can test it. Depending on the weather testing may be very limited.

Jason, I've been watching your series of videos here. I have a HP laptop that's a few years old now that is now surplus to me. And I have to state that I am a very green newbie to Linux. But I was thinking about installing Ubuntu on it. Which being a newbie causes me to have some questions. Can I install your build a pi on it ? And how about Vara, can that be installed ? I have a feeling this project will be quite the learning experience for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Much of BAP won't work at the moment as it was originally written to support the ARM processor of the Pi.

At the begining of the viseo where you use the command to see what usb ports the 705 is sending, how do you know the if02 was the GPS port ?

On the IC-705, where is Baud Rate set for FLRIG?

I should have been more specific in the video. The 705 doesn't have a user adjustable baud rate like other radios. It is always 19200 as far as I know
