This brand and model does not know to not mop carpet, so really I would say is designed more for hardfloors. You would need a higher end RoboVac that does better carpet/floor detection to switch mop mode on and off automatically by detection. I don't believe cleaning solution was included, it can use regular water, or you can put some cleaning fluid in with the water tank.
