I would like to have this done for preventative measures and as a baseline so I know what’s doing with my heart since I have high blood pressure and cholesterol and being treated for both so with this exam your head is out of the tube and the machine goes around? I did an mri once fully in the tube and it was horrible for me! Thank You! This test is the same as CTA of the coronary arteries correct?

This is a valuable video. They still push the stress test. Calcium Score,CIMT,CT Angiogram seal the deal for heart attack risk. Thanks for summarizing in such a short video.

My cardiologist only wanted to give me a treadmill test and I had to nag for a CIMT test. Luckily I didn't take his ridiculous high dose prescription of statins (I have no VLDL and TGs under 50)

I asked my cardiologist several times about getting a CAC score test. He said it doesn't give you the information you really need to know and wouldn't order it. Instead, he ordered a CT angiogram, which shows the soft plaque and the calcium. Apparently, the soft plaque is where the danger lies.

I'm scheduled for a CTA today. The same doctor started me out with a nuclear stress test a few weeks ago. He says the CTA will REALLY show us the condition of my coronary arteries. Why didn't he just START OUT with the CTA? I'm really concerned about all the radiation I have been taking on from my primary doctor, neurologists, and the cardiologist from all these scans and xrays. I stopped smoking last week with the help of patches and I am making changes to my diet. My symptoms have mostly subsided. I'm thinking about canceling the CTA. But I'm really unsure about it.

What about people who have this and it shows blockage but then they still have to have heart cath and then there's nothing there? Wouldn't it be better to just go ahead and have the heart cath and not be exposed to all this radiation doubled?
