Hi vivian, this is amazing! I would like to do a similar modification for my monotron- except I was hoping to add on/off switches to each routing option. Eg. on/off for cutoff, on/off for pitch, on/off for time.. In your video description you say this was before you built a power supply for the monotron. Did a lot of the hiss really go away when you built the PSU?? That sounds like the best mod to me!
Found your site when researching a power supply mod for the Krog Monotron Delay. I soldered + line from my power supply to the VCC pad and - line to GND pad on the circuit board. However, this added a whistle sound to the audio signal. Tried different V5 power supplies, different wall outlets, and even cables. Also tried a V3 PSU with lines soldered to the battery terminals in the battery compartment. Same result, though. Do you have any guidance on this? Thanks a lot!
Per the video description, adding a power supply on its own will not alleviate the noise. I think there are other circuit sections that create excess noise unless they are bypassed or modified somehow. Try nurdspace.nl/Korg_Monotron_Eurorack_Mod and the linked MuffWiggler thread there. They both touch on the subject with potential solutions. I am not educated enough to provide much useful guidance on it, unfortunately.
@@vivianhector8174 Yeah, talked to a lot of people and no one seemed to be able to offer guidance on how to add a psu without introducing noise. Shame because it is a great effect with the cut off for external gear stereo in and out. Chews batteries too fast to be really useful in the studio though. Thanks for the comment!
Hey Luca! Glad you like it. I updated the video description. Long story short: Haven't gotten around to making the new one due to various factors. BUT, I posted a wiring diagram in the description. Let me know if you need anything more, and definitely let me know how your mods come along!
Is there any way you could make a tutorial or explanation on how to build the mod? Also, how did you make the power supply? Is there a tutorial somewhere? This is great..
Vivian Hector Hey vivian, did you ever make that new video?? I abandoned my monotron delay hacking for a while, but I just got re-interested in the project and would love to do your mod on mine! When i connect the lfo pad on the back with the rightmost leg of the time pot, I get no effect.. could you share the exact process of what you did? Maybe i need that diode and resistor you mention- how should i connect them? Thank you.. This is probably my favorite mod
Shoot! I will have to find a different hosting service or somethin, it seems that postimg.org has been down for a while. I will update the link later today. Thanks for letting me know!
this is awesome

hey! where could I find that in-depth explanation, absolutely loved this and would love to do something similar!

Vivian Hector Perfect! Looking forward to it..
Any chance you have an updated diagram? The link provided doesn't seem to be working. Thanks!
