The Golden Axe franchise should definitely be given to the Streets of Rage 4 team for a revival. They don’t need to do much except make a solid beat ‘em up.
Well, look at what Sega is doing. They have announced that they're bringing back their classic, long-dormant franchises as Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Crazy Taxi, Shinobi, Jet Set Radio, etc.
Yeah I enjoyed this game. Unlocking the extras and mastering the difficult combat system was challenging. Tyris' original costume made it all worth it!
Agreed. I don’t know if they eventually patched it up or what; but by they time i finally gave this game a chance - I straight loved it! The combat even being a highlight (once you eventually wrapped your brain around it).
Golden Axe was the reason I got a Genesis. I think Streets of Rage 4 proved there is a market for sequels to classics--if done by developers who understand and love the IP and not just exploiting the name for a cash in. PS--Gilius Thunderhead was always my favorite character.

bad controls, bad story, decent graphics for the time, still loved it.
SEGA was already out of money on that time...so sad 😢😭
I got this game for a couple of quid in cex ages ago and have still yet to play it.
It had some issues but there was a cool game there… somewhere.
This Warrior Girl looks like she is wearing a bikini or something like that.
... OG costume. I believe that it's unlockable. Who'd play it through, though?
If it wasn't for that Iron Man game Beast Rider might of had a chance, smh
I really enjoyed this game. I don't understand the hate. It can be tough to beat, but it's really rewarding when you get it down.
I'd honestly rather try Beast Rider & go for 100% completion than touch the last 3 Paper Mario games or either TLOU game again....
I wonder if the failure of this game is why the vectorman reboot got canned.
The artbook that was a preorder bonus was better than the game.
Please talk bout dungeons & dragons:tower of doom & shadow over mystara arcade games, the bouncer & urban reign on ps2,mortal kombat shaolin monks, scott pilgrim vs the world game, dragon's crown, mighty morphin power rangers mega battle, revenge of the wounded dragons,& the fighting/beat em up hybrid pit fighter
well i honestly enjoyed this game alot its not bad at all it has great control .. a good style .. good gameplay and story .. a bit hard game but playable .. i cannot compare it with the classic OfCourse because for me its totally different style but even if the classic is better i cannot say this is a bad game i just have to treat it as a different thing .. its not a disappointment or call it a " franchise killer "
I like this one a whole lot more than others
I actually played the game and I liked it. Don't know why it gets so much hate other than it wasn't like the previous games in the series.
So bad I never heard of it. ⚔️
you reside in newtown, bar 1989 is awesome
No, I reside in Essex, England. But I get around!
I never saw this game for PS-3.
It looks beautiful.
love the original golden axe game
I there a game like Golden Axe Beast Rider that's actually good and delivers on at least some of the stuff that was promised for the original?
I remember this game I thought is was boring, bland and forgettable game
Just one character... This seems like a loss to me.
Dang.
No future instalments
the only thing i like in this game is her sword
So this is a god of war gender swap ordered off of wish project. Thank you for doing these videos
This game was terrible. One of the worst Action games I ever played. Making it a Golden Axe game was an insult to the franchise.
Paradigm LOL!
The revenge of 2d games over 3d... I think that, other than some cases where 3d is ok, like FPS super Mario and Crash Bandicoot all the other ones had lost a lot in playability and the dirty use of cameras.
3d seemed too much the next big deal but frankly it killed my interest in videogames.
I love some 3D games(Spider-Man/God of War), but Golden Axe made its name as a 2D game, so it should have stayed 2D.
... tell that shit to the Devil May Cry series. Some of the greatest hack & slash action in a 3D action game series. That said, OG, 2D game series didn't handle the transition, well.... like Contra & Golden Axe.
I mean, Sega's own Yakuza franchise is essentially an excellent 3D Open World Streets of Rage (until 7, which is a turn-based RPG).
I love your videos, but please stop using all-caps in the titles.
