I have one delivery that is an absolute joy to deliver to. The receiver is never happy to see me. She'll ask 'what do you have?' and I'll say 'A delivery!', then follow up with the shipper and she'll just swear under her breath. Finish unloading, and she slams the door in your face without saying thanks or goodbye. Some people are just miserable, and I can only imagine how the other staff deal with them
People with bad attitude are really hard to deal with! Kinda sad actually when people are so miserable they forgot how to act civilized! Great job Dave!
I have been in retail for almost two and a half years. Whenever I got a call from the shipping company, I was always happy to ensure the dispatcher had the best information for the trucker and answer any questions they had. I have only had a handful of trucks that have gone into the wrong entrance and have to wait all day for vehicles to clear because the space is so tight, even for regular vehicles. Our parking lots are not semi-friendly as we have to handle an equivalent to the City of Los Angeles population in an area almost eighty-four times smaller every year, and this does not even include the local residents.

i just came back from NC dave about 2 weeks ago and since i came back u been on two highways that i was on i was on us route 52 from mt airy nc to winston saleam nc and i was also on i40 from winston salam nc to i880 in greenboro nc coming back to us route 29 to maryland and i live in maryland your making me wanna move to nc because i loved it down there in mt airy btw i was in winston salam nc before we went home to eat fried gator tastes like chicken got it from razoos cajun cafe its right next to a walmart if u ever wanna stop and eat they got parking for trucks

I had a crazy one in Lincoln NE today, I had to back in from the street with cars “patiently” waiting. And then, as soon as I got into that area, I had to start backing into the dock it was super tight. I wish I had filmed it.

I had triple loads for Toyota Forklifts and had 24 nailed blocks around wheels to bust off with a 16 pound maul my dad used to split firewood with, but Toyota people were great to deal with.

When I get to a shipper where the dock look near impossible to hit I always think that im not the first one thats been here and if they can do it i can do it! Just smile at complicated staff and look at it as just another completed load and laugh all the way to the bank :)

I got a job at American Freight Furniture where we always have delivery notes on how to approach the dock. The problem is that the drivers usually follow they're GPS to the front door, drive over a planter and sometimes hit the building with their trailer.

dave happy labor day Monday to you, we've talked about this before as a former leader staff gets upset cuz their expecting the truck at 6am or whatever when I was in charge at Safeway I'm like keep working the truck will come but in department stores it's different at Marshall's we use everything to get stuff onto the floor and most days what we use blocks customers from shopping so yea those 2 might have been having a bad day and got tired kf waiting for you also the store breaks the seal not you the driver I tried to stop Safeway drivers cuz our team of rookies didn't know how to properly check we have to make sure that half the pallets have our store number on it otherwise we have to call the store who has our products it creates a mess
Do roads really change that much cause I have a 2015 Rand McNally atlas when I thought I couldn't find it, I bought a 2020 atlas to replace it, which would be smarter to use
Leaving a local company to haul regional for heartland. I'll be making a lot more money compared to what I'm doing now. They say 100% no touch 100% drop and hook for my region so we will see I guess.

Well, I'm glad your presence upset them so much. They are getting paid to be there. For now, we are a free country and they can just as easily go find a new job. I have a guy at one of the mills I drop off to and I swear to God he hates the fact that he has to come over and pull a few levers to get the logs off my trailer. He never greets me on the radio like everyone else, and if I go 6mph through the yard, he will straight up yell at you to slow down. Must be a really long day being that pissed off every single day
Manager did not tell them they will have a truck, not staffed well enough for unloading, or it simply is a terrible store to work at. I would have made THEM break that seal or just wait.
