as can crushers go, its not exactly the most practical or convenient but you gotta admire the sheer brute force of it :) Woulda been nice if you could have shown the chamber being emptied tho
I like it. I also like the intro. Funny. The following are not criticisms. Just suggestions that popped into my head as I watched. I realize I did not make this and have no idea WTF I'm talking about. :) Just adding commentary. The only thing I can say is that it needs to be fully automated. Pile the cans up in the hopper, flip the switch and the machine does the rest. You just need to add the cans to the hopper. Perhaps had a hopper shaker to keep them darned can's from getting stuck. Then pull the bale out in the end. I'm going to go watch that video now. Thanks for sharing!
Don't stop! this puppy, it has a job to do and I'm thinking along with the commercial power washing crew, a can/bottle crushing crew could make serious change after big events.
Love the design and ingenuity behind this. Do you have any sort of plans? We run the recycling program for a couple schools and having something like this would be a huge help. thanks!
Love your video.. Love your showing of it. Here's what I'm thinking of: Dual acting cylinder, with rams on each end,, hoppers on both sides.. (opposing crush!) Pressure-switch regulated to throw the detent..a helper to load hoppers, automatic release of end plate (to poop out the block) - probably controlled by a counter, or limit switch hooked to a relay..or even just manually-run.. um, um.. another helper to tie off the blocks with aluminum wire..and reset the end plates? haha
thanks, like I said I built it for personal use because the price in Ut. fluctuates drastically but all in all I am approx $800 in total to build the cans I save have nearly paid that back so from here on out its profit
This is really cool, not gonna lie, might be an awesome machine for a big club or maybe after a large public event? Would be really cool to see you demo this with plastic bottles. What becomes of say 250 - 500 2 liter bottles. Now, what I think would be really awesome would be a can & bottle crusher that would be compact & fully engineered for home use that crushes on demand. Probably about 99% of homes regularly drink beverages that come in recyclable plastic bottles as well as cans.
haha i thought it was going to suck all the cans into that chamber in like two or three seconds... BORING!!!! thats awesome you made that, very useful.
Pretty cool. I dont drink that many Pepsi's or cokes, so a can crusher is not in the works for me, but I do like your log split machine. I have a fire place and trees as we have plenty of logs, so the splitter is in the near future. I already have a spare Briggs 5 hp motor. Thanks for the ideas.
That's a good job. The scrap yard I go to bought one that's fed by a conveyor belt that brings it up to something that kicks out any steel, then after that it's just like yours, I bet they spend a bit more than you have into yours, it was probably 10 or 15 grand. Your looks more heavy duty. They stack them on a pallet, till they get about a 4' square cube, then band them to the pallet.
Thought about something like this but only problem is the scrap yard won’t take cans that are bailed into cubes because of people adding stuff for weight
actually it only took you around 2 minutes for 250. pretty cool. I'd just put a pressure switch on the up stroke to a certain point and make it reverse. good job tho. I love seeing different people's rigs they make.
Well now I just need to find a cheap beast of a cylinder and duplicate your design. Well done sir! Have you seen the video posted by Richard Walshaw? Industrial crusher...way to big for anybody to have at home but I like the end gate latch design. Think I will go with your general design and scale down the other end gate latch. Keep building cool stuff man!
Awesome job! I like how you designed it.I was thinking the almost exact same style of crusher.I think I might copy your design if you don't mind.I could pull the skid loader up behind the shop and hook it up to power it so a dedicated power supply isn't required.I really like the feed hopper also.
Do you have a vid showing build? I’m thinking of a set up something like this, but using my sub-compact tractor as the Hyd source, that way all I need to Purchase/locate is the ram!
Hoping after you smash 500 plastic bottles you can still get your recycle fee back. I live in FL, we dont pay a deposit. WISH that they did charge it because it would convince many many more people to keep the plastic bottles in the recycling stream. Florida is supposed to ramp up recycling requirements some time in the next couple of years. I look forward to it.
Awesome job dude! I am going to build something similar but am going to use the remote hydraulics on my skid loader for the hydraulic power. Does your recycling center ever complain about the blocks of aluminum you bring them?
Is the money you spend on fuel and maintenance justified by what you make in scrap cans? Also, I wish you would have shown us the end result with the cans.
If we all could achieve your level of greatness. The world would have no war, disease and famine. It's a pop can! You have a cure for a pile of cans. That's it.
Started crushing 250 cans at about the 1:00 mark. Ended at about the 3:00 mark. Two minutes=125 cans per minute. You win the contest! You could probably speed that thing up a bit with different gearing.
Kind of loud. Is there a sound-control knob on that thing to turn down the noise or put it in silent mode? Gotta mute button on it? And is it 9 volt battery operated also, in case one forget to pay their electric bill?
Out of curiosity what was your material cost invested in this? Lets say if you didn't have all of this laying around because im sure some of it you did.
I'm trying to figure out the point of this... Is it some internet DIY competition? There are already commercial balers on the market that do this way quicker and are more practical, so I can only assume that this is something you do just to kill time?
I bought an old log spliter for $850.00 and fixed it up. Made a box adapter for the wedge and added the hopper for about $150.00. It came with Motor, ram, control valve, mounted on wheels and a trailer hitch. Altogether it cost about $1000.00 and it's mobile. WTF makes yours worth three time that ($3500.00.) ??
question, do you go to a smelting plant with your aluminum? my dad used to know people that would save up the cans long enough and take them straight to the smelters. sounds like they often paid better then the local buyers.
Good job on the crusher man, but aren't you at all worried about breathing carbon monoxide? For what it's worth, I don't think that small opening is enough to vent that stuff, especially if there is no wind outside to blow fresh air in. Or., I'd have the unit sitting outside with the door completely closed as to not let any fumes in.
@MrLeonard55 let's see your shop!, now days since your old enough, you should know steel is like gold, you don't throw it out until you can't do anymore with it, where's your uploads? ooh.... right you don't have any. PERIOD.
I need your help...I have a lot of Aluminum cans in many of yards,,,and I would like to get very cheap and easy to handle crasher ...with light weight and could work on single phase supply...urgently i need ur help
Yes. they break up into thin slices and the scrap yards I have a legit reputation with, the yards dont like it because of people putting weight in them
@rthom86 that's a good idea, but its about another $300 and I'm already into this about $600 and it rarely gets stuck it just so happened to do it while I filmed this.
@girochin007 Practical? I guess your right if you consider blowing 20 grand (probably more) on a commercial baler for personal use. I built this to set outside my basement door, then every couple weeks crush the full hopper until I get a bale, Aluminum recycling prices can vary from 25 cents lb. to 95 cents lb. here in Utah (no I'm not L.D.S.). Why save the environment for a quarter? The fastest well...that was more of a joke, search youtube for worlds fastest can crusher, you'll see what I mean
Wow the way they treat these cans... it’s soda pressing.
Haha! Internet is undefeated.
Big wide grin with no sound. I laughed inside. Good one.
Was funnier the first time I read it (under other video)
Wow, so uncanny of you.
Hah, good one
as can crushers go, its not exactly the most practical or convenient
but you gotta admire the sheer brute force of it :)
Woulda been nice if you could have shown the chamber being emptied tho
Dam I wanted see it emptyed out n chunk of cans all as one!!
Attach that bad boy to a shopping cart and you'd be the envy of can collectors everywhere!
This is certainly the best can crusher I've seen on youtube.
6 years later, ruclips.net/video/zveM81Nk3uk/видео.html
I like it. I also like the intro. Funny. The following are not criticisms. Just suggestions that popped into my head as I watched. thanks!
Most practical crusher I saw so far. Would liked to have seen the bale tho.
Very cool video! Its been 10 years now, are you still using it? Any improvements?
Love your video.. Love your showing of it. Here's what I'm thinking of: Dual acting cylinder, with rams on each end,, hoppers on both sides.. (opposing crush!) got my vote
nice crusher. lookin on here for ideas on maken my own and so far urs looks like the best DIY crusher ic seen..
This is really cool, not gonna lie, might be an awesome machine for a big club or maybe after a large public event? Would be really cool to see you demo this with plastic bottles. I really like how you designed that can crusher the cruiser Chris World network is fully connected with you and watching
I like your can crusher, you did a fantastic job. Might want to put a pressure bypass valve on it so you quit killin the motor. Great video. Thanks.
haha i thought it was going to suck all the cans into that chamber in like two or three seconds... BORING!!!! thats awesome you made that, very useful.
cool looking. I like the hopper. It looks like it clogs easily, though. You should have ejected the bale on the video so we can see it.
Pretty cool. I dont drink that many Pepsi's or cokes, so a can crusher is not in the works for me, but I do like your log split machine. I have a fire place and trees as we have plenty of logs, so the splitter is in the near future. I already have a spare Briggs 5 hp motor. Thanks for the ideas.
place your camera in the chamber with a light so we can see the cans crush.
Also the worlds loudest can crusher!
At leas you have a hopper. One guy was hand feeding one by one.
This is awesome! What are dimensions of the bale?
So this is available on Amazon?
Lol your profile picture is so funny
Thought about something like this but only problem is the scrap yard won’t take cans that are bailed into cubes because of people adding stuff for weight
saw the Thor 5000. nice machine. definately overkill. this machine wouldn't be bad for large volumes.
Awesome....about how much would the complete price of your machine if sold to us?
i aint got no hydraulics and shit. lol good job.
yep, doesn't matter how fast the parts move, it's all about volume when it comes to this....
dont be jealous of this awesome machine.. and if its way to slow make a bigger better faster one :) Game ON!!
For a second there I thought you were about to crush the camera for the ending hahah
actually it only took you around 2 minutes for 250. pretty cool. I'd just put a pressure switch on the up stroke to a certain point and make it reverse. good job tho. I love seeing different people's rigs they make.
How much did all of your materials cost to assemble this can crusher? and How many cans will you have to crush and sell to make a profit?
Well now I just need to find a cheap beast of a cylinder and duplicate your design. Well done sir! Have you seen the video posted by Richard Walshaw? Industrial crusher...way to big for anybody to have at home but I like the end gate latch design. Think I will go with your general design and scale down the other end gate latch. Keep building cool stuff man!
Awesome but I wanted to see the cans when you took them out. Are they a solid block. Nice job on the build.
See can crusher taking a dump
Yeah no happy ending
Awesome job! I like how you designed it.I was thinking the almost exact same style of crusher.I think I might copy your design if you don't mind.I could pull the skid loader up behind the shop and hook it up to power it so a dedicated power supply isn't required.I really like the feed hopper also.
I wanted to see the bale of crushed cans.
Grate video do you sell those units if so could i buy one,how much do they cost
Would be nice to show us how you unload..
Do you have a vid showing build? I’m thinking of a set up something like this, but using my sub-compact tractor as the Hyd source, that way all I need to Purchase/locate is the ram!

WISH that they did charge it because it would convince many many more people to keep the plastic bottles in the recycling stream. Florida is supposed to ramp up recycling requirements some time in the next couple of years. I look forward to it.
Do you have plans made up for this? I'd like to make something along the lines of this. And how much it cost to build?
Jeff please watch video can crusher walk through thanks
What the cost to build this can baler
Thats bad ass bro!
Awesome job dude! I am going to build something similar but am going to use the remote hydraulics on my skid loader for the hydraulic power. Does your recycling center ever complain about the blocks of aluminum you bring them?
I love it great video. I like to have one. Thanks
Is the money you spend on fuel and maintenance justified by what you make in scrap cans? Also, I wish you would have shown us the end result with the cans.
@plasmaman2507 what if you just use the vibrations from the motor you have running? maybe a rod between them or even direct contact...?
If we all could achieve your level of greatness. The world would have no war, disease and famine. It's a pop can! You have a cure for a pile of cans. That's it.
Thank you. good video
cool its just like wall e when he crushes that trash
My friend that is ace, many thanks
GOOD EVENING BLESSINGS THANK YOU FOR SHARING GREAT VIDEO ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND AND WARM AND BE SAFE
Started crushing 250 cans at about the 1:00 mark. Ended at about the 3:00 mark. Two minutes=125 cans per minute. You win the contest!
You could probably speed that thing up a bit with different gearing.
Just needs some kind of agitator in the hopper and you're all set.
We don’t get to see the crushed cans????
Just saw a great site for can crushers.
That is fucking sweet but that said: A hopper full of diabetes and obesity.
Nice machine bro. Where did you get the cylinder from?
I'm trying to figure out the point of this... Is it some internet DIY competition? There are already commercial balers on the market that do this way quicker and are more practical, so I can only assume that this is something you do just to kill time?
No because they know me and if there is a problem it peels apart in layers
I bought an old log spliter for $850.00 and fixed it up. Made a box adapter for the wedge and added the hopper for about $150.00. It came with Motor, ram, control valve, mounted on wheels and a trailer hitch. Altogether it cost about $1000.00 and it's mobile. WTF makes yours worth three time that ($3500.00.) ??
Is your time not worth anything?
I subscribe your channel
wall-e would be happy if he saw that
Did you make more
question, do you go to a smelting plant with your aluminum? my dad used to know people that would save up the cans long enough and take them straight to the smelters. sounds like they often paid better then the local buyers.
Would you sell that , without the hydrolic generator
It's really slow XD
Good job on the crusher man, but aren't you at all worried about breathing carbon monoxide? For what it's worth, I don't think that small opening is enough to vent that stuff, especially if there is no wind outside to blow fresh air in. Or., I'd have the unit sitting outside with the door completely closed as to not let any fumes in.

just use a trash compactor or a car crusher that would be the worlds best can crusher
how much would it cost to build this
Do you sell these ? if so how much, I would like to buy one.
I need your help...I have a lot of Aluminum cans in many of yards,,,and I would like to get very cheap and easy to handle crasher ...with light weight and could work on single phase supply...urgently i need ur help
Does the scrap yard recognize them as aluminum cans?
they do because it peels apart like tuna fish in thin layers so they can see there is no other material in them
But how do you get them out 😂👌🏼
You can see hinges on the side it gets crushed into the door then door opens and it would push em out
how to get them out??
Expanded metal on the hopper probably not the best idea. Should be plexiglass or something smooth. How come you didn't show ejected block?
KarasCyborg Plexiglass with can Juice?? That would be nasty.
I wanna see the bale it makes
nice job very useful
wow. that's like almost all the soda cans in the world or something. how many is that?
God job but I rather spending no fuel or electricity to do that
Will anybody buy them in a cube? Local yards wouldn't buy them around here. Had to bust em back up, lol
Yes. they break up into thin slices and the scrap yards I have a legit reputation with, the yards dont like it because of people putting weight in them
@rthom86 that's a good idea, but its about another $300 and I'm already into this about $600 and it rarely gets stuck it just so happened to do it while I filmed this.
how much will it cost for this unit or for you to build me one?
That is not a crusher, that is a baler.
Hello how do you make this
how many tonnes ?
Clean up the floor dude!
Dale Moore calm it dale
Why am i watching this
Show the 500 crushed cans…….
@girochin007 Practical? I guess your right if you consider blowing 20 grand (probably more) on a commercial baler for personal use. I'm disappointed I waited through the whole video to see the end product (the bail). and you never showed it.
now show us how you get em out Einstein
2 minutes to crush, 30 minutes digging them out
Well peewee I have another video taking a dump
That's nice, and WTF in their right mind is going to spend $6500 to crush a mere 250 cans at a time??????
