    Unfortunately in America its not always different. Within this melting pot country, sometimes if a group comes together to establish an area for themselves or if a group of the same background work together in an office, the new person/outsider is treated as if they don't belong or aren't wanted. Its a matter of the heart and mind. Can't change them, just have to rise above the foolishness!

    You should expose them. In Kenya we have many establishments that treat Kenyans (black, of course) differently. During COVID, the Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, was one of those that was largely exposed in the media and Twitter, for discrimination of Kenyans in theor own country. In the hospitality industry, black Kenyans are treated differently, and mostly not as good as foreign-looking tourists.

    • @vuksgitau
      @vuksgitau Месяц назад +4

      That's a bit of an exaggeration because no Kenyan would be barred from accessing any area in Kenya especially if it's open for the public including any estates. Giraffe manor's are too high and that's how they bar people not good but hardly the same. I remember a club in Westlands that was throwing out Kenyans and that club was closed as soon as it became public news.

    • @kandisphere8828
      @kandisphere8828 Месяц назад +3

      @vuksgitau You were either too young or offline when they were called out. As someone who worked in an affiliated organisation, I can assure you that they do close some places for Kenyans. I have only accessed some places in Kenya because of work engagements with foreigners, and the costs were not the issue. You know how? Pre-covid, the only package they had was $500, but it was that high because they picked you from the airport, and they insisted one has to take that full package. So, how is someone living in Karen, who would drive themselves there, supposed to be charged for airport pickup??? That tells you, either you accept to be charged unfairly or don't visit the premises. I have more examples that I can give, but I chose the one that trended. I was insider and still know lots of people working in hospitality and conservation.

      I've never experienced such in Kenya. Please don't make it look like apartheid is happening here. The truth is what you think about, you attract.
      I've heard someone say they weren't received well at the Norfolk, but I've heard no complaints for Kempinski (we had a wonderful conference there), Movenpick, The Ibis, The Social House.
      Maybe racism is a legacy thing with these old hotels. We're not oppressed here in Kenya. Word goes round fast and hostile businesses are shut down. The next time it happens to you, speak up!

It is only when I went to the UK and Trinidad and India that I knew some could be genuine and not see skin colour. I acknowledge it is particularly hurtful the treatment in Africa. Thanks for the back story

      Some of you people are trying too hard to relate. You personally, have you ever been mistreated? If there is a gated community you can't access, it's because you don't live there. Granted, we've had some problems with Parklands Indians, but don't blow it out of proportion.

What a terrible way to exist, not for humanity’s sake but for one’s consciousness. To be a creator and choose to manifest poor evil is bewildering. Like with all the goodness and abundance that’s available to all?! But like they say in Zulu, you live the consequences of the dowry you pay towards your life.
    Now to you, making story time about this atrocity and not following through completely defeats the purpose. Maybe you should have left this video in your drafts because it’s serves no one. To the owners and stakeholders of this channel, especially the presenter / narrator. You did an injustice to your fellowman that shares the same color as yourself.
    Instead you came on social media, narrate this horrible story to us, and will be making money from this video. While your fellow country men and women will continue to endure this horrible experiences in their ancestors land.
    You have a huge following, and you had an opportunity to expose them via social media but instead you come online and apply makeup while narratjng this painful experience.
    You had the option to leave the country, many of your fellow men and women do not have that option.
    Secretly recording them the second time, when you returned at 5:30 would have expose them to the world. And all the bloggers would have backed you. And it would shine a light on the situation, even if it takes years to remedy. But at least, it would get the discussion started.
    When the wife learned that you had a huge social media following her behavior changed. That is the trigger that lets me know that they are aware that their behavior is intolerable and that there is a consequence that they will endure if they were exposed via the internet.
    What irks me is the way you relayed this horrific experience while casually applying makeup.
    Many of us African descent who moved to the west, are living life because many blacks laid down their lives for us to so call enjoy certain rights to a certain extent.
    Now if you say, exposing these evil racist persons would impact the lives of your loved ones, then I would understand why you did not try to secretly record them.
    But what irks me is how you lightly delivered this experience as if it was a normal experience.
    My 2 cents.

    Reminds me of how 2 days ago I contacted the South African Home Affairs of in Kenya and the guy who answered the phone , arrogantly told me they don’t deal with African. I was like , excuse you!? Anyways I gave him a piece of my mind and i demanded to talk to the manager.

    I don't understand how this is even allowed. I don't think we are not going to be rewarded for allowing others to treat us like subhuman. African/black leaders need to stop being so soft or do not be a leader.

    This Is the fault of no one but black people being overly welcoming and not gate keeping! It's not so much like that in America because black Americans fought and even died for civil rights. Even though America is racist as well. This is why the way foreigners disrespect black Americans is disgusting because what we fought for helps everyone.

    My sister please. The make up routine, which you have on lock by the way I mean it’s perfect, is a little much. I don’t know if you can see it but your skin was more beautiful in its natural state. I’m not judging but i guess I am really. I just think it’s ironic that you who is experiencing racism in their own country can’t also see the flaw in the media driven hype which has similarly gotten you to cover your face. 🤡 ❤

    I watched the video that you had posted on with your family and your brothers visiting the home that you had sad but fond memories when you were growing up. It was a very good video with good human connection.
    The occupants of the home were kind and generous enough to allow you to enter their privacy. They should be applauded and commended for that because, in the Cities and in many countries and whatever race of skin you are, people are very cautious of security and guard their privacy. It was smart that your brothers suggested to leave before another Zambian guard got fired. The owners of the house ( it is not a public business or service building) were and are not obligated to
    let you in their home or yard. It is a fact that there is racism, classism, tribalism all phobias in nations and that governments etc should work against these. I am sorry that you felt discriminated against your race. I am also sorry for what the family of that home will feel like after they watch your video. I wish them well. It will be peaceful, respectful and good for the owners of the home and for you if you don’t show up at their home or yard next time. All the best to you and continued success on good future video contents.

It is not defamation if it’s true, Conversely, if it’s defamation, naming them codedly would not be a legal defence.

    great that u are letting us know but u need to inform the authorities in your country so they can let them know quietly that they cannot prohibit natives from that land where they are and they should never do that again. i can see u are married to a white guy, awesome . however they are guests in your native land. they wouldn't allow people who look like u to do that in any of their countries in a million years and u know that. u know very well that black people are the only people who get disrespectful treatment everywhere in this world , thats a unique experience for blk people and to have that happen on your own land by guests is absolutely unacceptable and should not be tolerated or excused. they need to be checked on that. Im Nigerian by origin, this crap would not even fly at all, a Chinese restaurant tried this to native Nigerians and that restaurant was immediately shutdown indefinitely. we can be too nice and understanding to a fault and thats where people take advantage of u and build entire neigborhoods in your own country and bar u from it? heck no

    It amazes me what black people have gone through on the Continent and the diaspora for us to allow this treatment in 2024 and in An African country no doubt! I’ve been hearing about this in South Africa and now Zambia?? What the HELL is going on over there? This is disheartening and you act so nonchalant about it. How can you act so ………..with all of what yall been through over there! All the atrocities done on the continent by Europeans. This is mind blowing! What is the government doing about this? Do they realize this is a cancer that will only get worse? Smdh omg! I’m so flabbergasted by this whole thing! Do you see they are throwing black people out of Europe. What do you think it means and what it will lead too?smdh
