It would be awesome to see it get into the high 9's though but it will probably not happen with the combo they have unless they get a good spray of nitrous on it but that 498 most likely would not last very long with a serious hit as I dont know what rotating assembly they built it with.
Put a re geared 4L60e to fix the 1-2rpm drop: "Geared Up: An all-out 4L60E built to hold 1,000 hp with performance-friendly gear ratios," as featured on MOTORTREND Jun 23, 2016. Also 4.11s in the rear.

Looks like that crazy torque is twisting the body and/or pulling hard on the motor mounts and the linkage is then out of whack. My Nova did that decades ago, but not nearly as much. Great vid!!!

If I remember correctly my 69 Impala Custom 427 had a full frame, not a subframe like a Nova. So it's probably not twisting the frame.

I love it! My first car was a 68 Impala 2 door 327, 375 HP! Man I miss that car... Bought it for $200 and sold it after the motor locked up for $200.
