    As for the solid bags have you tried putting in crushed, chopped and hole boilies in instead of mini mix I've had some good results from it

      Hi Rob, thanks for the nice comment! I’ve not tried that in a solid bag but I have done that in mesh bags on different venues! Maybe I need to try it here!

    Hi mate just come across u I haven’t been carp fishing for years got into sea fishing but thinking about it again just wanted to know at the start of this video u said light leads for muddy bottom’s what size was it and can u show me your rigs pls ur pva bags look great
    Chris

    • @southcoastangler
      @southcoastangler  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Chris thank you for your kind message! The bottom on this lake is not necessarily muddy but quite silty with a lot of leaf litter and twigs etc.. that’s why solid bags seem to have worked for me there. I like to use 2.5oz leads here so that they don’t bury in the lake bed and are still heavy enough to help hook the fish! I’ve got plenty of videos on my channel showing my rigs so keep your eyes peeled and you might see my approach on different venues!

    Loving the long videos mate. Stop beating yourself up.
    Stick to the bags mate as you know you’re always presented and the bigger fish will come. Play the numbers game.

    • @southcoastangler
      @southcoastangler  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah so my approach for next time will be one on a bag and I can use the other for other things.. from now on I will always have one on a bag because that’s my proven tactic. Thanks mate - I will be buying some treats off you soon 😉

    This is why we go fishing because the next session can create memories that last and helps to forget the bad session every angler has of any standard hence those that have never fished will not understand the hours of pain we go through for those minutes of pleasure 🎣🎣

    • @southcoastangler
      @southcoastangler  10 месяцев назад

      You’re not wrong! I’ve got some great sessions coming up on my RUclips channel on the next couple of weeks - making memories is what it’s all about 👊🏼

  • @dancolloby8163
    @dancolloby8163 10 месяцев назад +1

    My thoughts - the 20lb challenge is doing you no favours, forget about it and enjoy your fishing Aaron. I have been carp fishing for 40 years and enjoy it every bit as much as I’ve ever done. Don’t look too much into rigs and tactics, location is key and feeding spells can be very short. Most younger anglers all seem to be fishing solid bags, try to be different mate 😉 Good luck for your next session👍

    • @southcoastangler
      @southcoastangler  10 месяцев назад +1

      Love this message Dan! Thank you mate! I think sometimes when we set ourselves targets and we don’t hit them we can get frustrated.. but like you said I need to get back to enjoying myself and I know in time I’ll hit that target! Maybe when I’m least expecting it! That’s fishing isn’t it? Who knows what’s going to happen!

  • @NickBabington

    Feel for you, fishing can be so frustrating. If it’s your doorstep lake can you prebait? Trickling bait into lesser known spots regularly before fishing them. I’m sure you’d have a surprise or 2 if you did this, once the carp have built trust in those spots and your bait 😜 Stealth is the game though, you don’t want others finding/fishing your spots. Share the results after you’ve had that 20 😄

    • @southcoastangler
      @southcoastangler  10 месяцев назад

      Haha yeah that’s the problem with making my videos and showing people where I’m fishing 🙈 pre baiting is something I will be doing next time round.. I think with the winter months I was just looking for a bite!
