Thanks brother! If you plan on making this on, I suggest adding this: ruclips.net/video/FzTL2XW0OXA/видео.html&ab_channel=BarRookie It is going to save you some trouble!
@@BarRookie It works waaaay better than I was anticipating!! I love it!...My old set up for belt squats was literally going to kill me haha...climbing onto plyo boxes with all that weight hanging from a dip belt and nothing to hold onto at the top for counter balance
Good concept for the Belt Squat. I execute belt squat with a belt attached through a chain to my low pulley system , 2 planks used as a platform and that is it...That work very well and the load is definitely on the legs
Nice, have you considered making the plate bearing part horizontal? It seams like this way it may be moved closer to the end (no need to "hug" plate with your knees) and transfer more plates' weight from rack to you.
Indeed, very good question. The reason I went with this design is because it is easier strength wise to load the plates onto the wooden frame instead of horizontal metal pipes. But the benefits you mention are indeed worth it to get into a horizontal plate bearing method.
thats a really neat and easy set up. This plus the pull down machine are really good for the home gym. Thanks for posting this. Have you thought about ever making a single leg, leg extension machine?
Thank you so much! I don't think I would. To me that exercise has no more value than a squat. And in a home gym setup this would take up too much space 😳😰
I'm having an issue finding the pipe. What kind of pipe is it? What is the outside diameter of the pipe? Not just the inside diameter of the hole but the whole diameter including the thickness of the pipe walls? Is there any play between the pipe and the holes of the Olympic plates? I'm stuck having to buy an entire pipe costing over $60 just for the small amount I'll need for the project. Any suggestions? Thanks
Hey man, the pipe is more to align all the plates. For what I have, the plates aren't even touching the pipe. The pipe is also merely there in case the plates slip or anything. You could use a thick wooden dowel if you have that laying around. Or maybe a small piece of threaded pipe could also work. I would not recommend buying a 60 dollar pipe for that! Good luck hunting your local hardware store brother!!
I would say, unlimited, but thats probably not true 😅 I was able to load it to 100 kg without any problem. Should be able to go higher. Depends more on the belt than on the wooden frame.
The blocks don't really matter that much, they just have to able to hold the hole and the anker point. Mine were about 20 cm long each. But that was just because I had them laying around. The pegs came with the rack and are from Barbarian line, but any bandpeg will do! Good luck building brother!
So true brother. But it won't be so compact. That is why I went with the shorter design. Feel free to adapt to your likings! That is the beauty of DIY ☺️☺️ good luck wirh it brother!
After you have had this machine for a while, can you say if it is comfortable and you actually use it? I want to build something similar but I'm not sure if it's going to be like real belt squat machine.
I've never squated with a real machine! But it definitely it helps to get some more legwork in without taxing the spine and back! My girlfriend has been using this more than I did. But she also finds it a nice variation to do.
I can build this for under $20 but am going to build a crude leg press machine instead. That or the leg press for a power rack. *My mind hates squats, my body hates squats but I can do leg presses all day.*
I feel you brother! Did squats yesterday, only started to enjoy the workout after they where done! 😅 I am curious to see what you come up with in terms of leg press! I you don't mind send me a picture after you're finished 💪
That seems like a dangerous construction to me. The charging pin is so close to your chest and throat. Imagine if you happened to fall forward. If you make the lever longer and the charging pin in the same place, it seems a bit safer to me. Other than that, I think it's a good exercise.
Hello Bro Sorry Brother Do you have a Calisthenics or Bodyweight No equipment Exercise for Middle Side Delt or Side Shoulders, Posterior Delt or Back Shoulders and Rotator Cuff & Upper,Middle and Lower Trapezius, Thoracic and Lower Back, Forearm, Wrist and Upper Abs, Obliques or Side Abs & Lower Abs Type, Variations Workout and How to Neck Exercise?🤔
What is special about the machine is that there is no spinal loading, if you hold a weight with your hands, you are still loading the spine, however, it will not matter that much if the weights are relatively light.
thats the best design I have seen. I will surely copy it. thanks for the hard work.

So happy the algorithm brought me your way. I'm building this today my dude and couldn't be more grateful for the inspiration
That is just awesome bro! You see, youtube is always watching our every step!
How is the builing going? Have you been able to test it out?!

Yeah man, weighted climbs are always to be avoided 🤣
I'm so glad you're happy with your own creation my friend! May the gains be yours!

That's very nice! 😊 I was thinking about that too, but I would have to add an axtra pulley wheel as well..
Do you do this exercise often?

Very solid. The music led me to believe you might not be able to lift it. Oh no, yeah you lifted it easy.
Your device should be sufficient for most home gym owners.
Thanks Jaw! The thing is that wood can handle more weight then most people think!
Nice, I wish I had seen this before I bought the Revolt unit.
That is where I based mine of off! :D It is really just a plateloadable beam!

@@BarRookie good point. Thanks again and keep the DIY videos coming. Checking in from Canada here
Thanks Buddy !!

Thank you so much Giorgio! ☺️

pretty good ! Give us the length and dimensions of the machine.
Thanks man!
The length is 1.1m, the height is like 10 cm and the thickness of the boards together a 4 cm.
What are the dimensions for each 4x4 block? And the brand of the band peg attachment that holds it to your rack. Thanks! Building this tomorrow.

How long are those planks in inches?
Cm to inches = devided by 2.54.
So about 44 inches.
If you would have made it longer travel of the weight would be much grater. I'm gonna build it myself, greetings.

How much weight does it support?
I still need to stress test it. Will be having a video on that soon!
this is the simplest diy I have seen.

Yes it is indeed very dangerous! I made a leg for it, so getting up puts you in less of a risk to get hurt!
This was the follow-up video I made to make it safer 💪

You mean, an exercise that hits all muscles at the same time? I would do Push ups 😌
@@BarRookie Yes😄
I'm sorry but I find it easier to hold the weights in my hand to do squats, not short cables and pulleys ....
Hey man, thanks for your comment. Me too to be honest. But I find it a nice addition. And its fun to try a "different" exercise.
@@BarRookie and Is fun to build all those things you do. Well, you have a lot of tools so, I have to just enjoy watching you doing the good work.

I find it hard holding 80+ kilos in my hands to squat with.
That is why there are barbells. I think that is what Luciano meant.
are you even wearing shoes ? looks like your are cutting wood in your socks?
