Getting ready to give this suit my 1st test in ride from Cape Town to Victoria Falls. Looking at air temps. 45-80 deg. F. Will see how it goes. It feels like a heavy duty suit. I like that I don’t need additional rain gear.
Got the previous (current) gen Badlands jacket and Carlsbad pants both in black as I felt the Badlands pants were a bit too stiff for frequent getting on and off the bike. Love them both! Might add these new pants though if they’re more comfortable/flexible.
The most I like is that u upgraded the wrist went/zippers= set velcro and forget, amazing. before I was deciding Carlsbad. Now wanna buy this for new season. I am riding between spain and benelux sometimes to eastern Europe so the wents will help as well. My actual suit Lindstarnds woman in not what I want. GUYS JUST HELL SEND IT TO THE SALE IN EUROPE!
Just picked up my Tall size jacket a couple of days ago and love it! Not sure where the hydration bladder pocket is though. Is it in one of the inside pockets at the front? And where would the hose route?
Thanks for the clip, my biggest concern is the sizing- I own Carlsbad trousers and though it fits me on the waist, the thighs are twice the size of my thighs- its not easy to feel the grip when riding standing up as the leather patch and the calf adjustment keeps moving (I have it tightened to the maximum. I think trouser sizes need to be worked on for a few fits- regular?slim etc. Have been waiting to click 'pay' for badlands but how to find out the exact size of the garment- my concern is thighs and knee adjustment. thanks
only thing is sizing. I use now pants size 58 EU, but is size up to me! civil pants XXl again size up to me. your chart told me by size M-L it seems impossible. between waist and hips I am around 100cm diameter. tried Touratech rambler pants L it was small. I just need little extra, not too much extra space. But I think jacket size L is perfect!
Are those pants going to be listed on the site? Because the closest matching color scheme for pants, for the monumental gray jacket are the petrol-strike orange pants, at least, it's what I see in my browser.
@Klim love your gear but HATE the fit when seated. Clearly made for guys with a gut up front. But if you don't your left with a huge amount of material bunching up. Look at rider position when seated relative to jacket. Front of jacket sits on legs pushing Jack up making it very uncomfortable and makes you look like your pregnant. Why not make jacket shorter in front than rear?
I agree. The badlands isn’t as bad as others, like the Marrakesh and Latitude I just tried on. Way too long for the seated riding position. Designed like ski jackets really.
Not good! went to the store yesterday to buy me jacket. I was looking to spend 400-650 bucks. End up coming out with this jacket and some Klim Adventure GTX boots. I was in a hurry and quickly tried on jackets. I did not noticed that this jacket doesn't come with an insulation thermal liner. Simply put, it's nothing more or less a rain jacket. I am taking it back. No way in hell that am I going to pay 1,150 plus tax for a jacket that is nothing more or lass a rain jacket. Yes, nicely made but too expensive. There are other brands that come loaded for 500-800 bucks range. I have a Tourmaster Adventure jacket that fits better and keeps me warm in low temperatures, and I paid like 350 bucks for it. Hell, with Klim by the time I get some adventure pants I'd need a lot of room in my soft bags to carry just the Klim gear. Oh, and after 36 years riding, rain or shine, I have very specific things I look for. One is that the zippers are protected from rain, this jacket is good in that respect. Another thing is that the jacket must be adjustable and fit snuggly around my wrists. This jacket is good in that sense too. But, it must also fit me slightly snug around the neck to prevent water from going down my neck and into the shoulders and back. This jacket can't deliver that even after I adjusted the cinch cord to the maximum and with the velcro in the front adjusted all the way (to the point I hardly have any velcro left). When I turn my head there is a still a pretty space around my neck. I got the large because the medium fit me a bit tight. And again, since it has nothing under to keep you warm, you need to layer up, which requires extra room. A limger velcro strip would had made the trick. But again, for a 1,1150 dollar jacket, Klim did not delivered. I am starting to compare Klim to BMW, great marketing, over designed, extremely expensive, but when everything is said and done BMW is one of the top two least reliable motorcycle brands in the market. Sorry, but Klim people need to wake up and give more for the price. At least I liked the boots, well, kinda. The BOA closure system in nice but too many people are complaining about the cord snapping easily. But that is a different review. Probably the first and last Klim products I ever buy. The jacket will be going back, I down feel like paying extra to have a longer velcro strip sown in.
I love the Badlands Pro 3A kit.

'Deep pockets' - yes, Klim, this is indeed a suit that is for those who already have them.

The Badlands Pro jacket comes with a removable kidney belt, yes.
