Just because I suspect people will be looking at the replies : www.clickerheroes2.com ....Dunno why he couldn't have just linked the website instead of quoting it.
Ezpzrpg is an awesome idle game. Has lots of content and is similar to diablo in its loot system but it drips of paytowin. I honestly just hope this new game is like that one but something that looks worth 30$
Then you probly haven’t played clicker heroes! I never spend money on microstransactions, I hate them. But I’ve spent over $100 in the last 2 years on Clicker Heroes. It’s a great game, and I will readily pay $30 for a second gen version of it. Edit: all the money I spent was to support the game. You don’t need the boosts that the micro transactions provide. People are trying to hate on it but tbh I’m fine with it. I’d rather have a pay-once than free-to-play. Cookie Clicker is also amazing and I’ve donated to the creator of that as well. A game that can make me sit hundreds of hours in front of my screen playing it deserves money in my book.
Also, most of this guy’s points in the video are subjective af! Just because a Clicker game isn’t something you enjoy, doesn’t mean others won’t spend massive amounts of time in it.
@@lostcolonyforge5792 It's still too much with the current market. Games like Legends of Idleon and others are way better Idle games and are completely free when they could justify a similar pricetag. They'd have to revolutionize the concept way more to completely justify it. and this is coming from someone who originally defended them. They just didn't keep up with the current market. Its blown right past them with many better games being made by singular developers. Their game just looks sad in comparison.
cod_time This + I've seen a lot of people sink 400+ hours on the first Clicker Heroes (Ingenious Gaming himself for example), yet Stalker, even if it's a great game, doesn't contain that many hours of gameplay. Heck, Dark Souls 1, which is an outstanding game, has given me 150+ hours of gameplay, when in The Kittens Game I have allegedly 400+ hours, which may pretty much be 100+ hours of in game time, and as far as I know I'm half-way through the game.
I think any idle game needs to put up a free demo on steam if there going to make you pay theres no way im going to buy a clicker game i havent even tried and the 2 hour refund window for steam dosent really work with idle games
Except it's a year. It's on the website. Final reason: Pre-orders don't make sense if a game is free-to-play. Pre-orders qualify for full refunds for up to a year after we launch: www.clickerheroes2.com/. www.clickerheroes2.com/paytowin.php - Fragsworth
I would pay up to $5 for an idle game if it was much better than any idle game I've ever played. I _might_ be willing to pay $2 for some of the idle games I've been playing until now. There are a few idle games where I've thought about buying some microtransactions, up to $2, but they required spending more than $2 for upgrades that definitely aren't worth it.
Hisoka X Ippo nothing actually, just watching numbers grow, pushing onwards and unlocking New stuff. But if that keeps me entertained, it's worth it. Idle games aren't for everybody, so why those who don't like that genre, wouldn't just shut up?
Wuffa20 it’s not a game, you don’t play, it all happens automatically over time, you cannot be good at it you cannot be bad at it, there’s no skill involved, nothing at all, just a little set of optimal calculations to make things go a tiny bit quicker but even without that evvvveeerrryybody still just reaches the big numbers eventually, they aren’t games
Just bought clicker heroes 2. Or well, the pre-order thing on their website. I've been playing clicker heroes 1 for (idle time!) 4000 hours so far, so this was a no-brainer for me, and the gameplay looks vastly different enough to the point where it is not just a new coat of paint. I'm actually really excited about this. To answer your question about microtransactions and if we had bought any, with CH1, I remember buying the $2 tier ruby thing right at the beginning and probably wasted them, just to try it out. I never again bought another ruby, I wanted to play through the game legit the whole way. Until the CH2 announcement, I knew I was going to buy it anyway, I saw that they give you like 240 rubies for CH1 if you ordered it.. so although that isn't a microtransaction, I felt that it was a way to get some rubies and side-step my logic! Looking forward to this new game.
I just found out about the pre-order for clicker heroes 2... It was an instant buy for me. Here are my reasons: No DLC or microtransactions! "We also believe that game developers should be up-front about how much it *actually* costs for the complete experience. Clicker Heroes 2 will not have any DLC, microtransactions, or otherwise paid content, except for cosmetics that don't impact gameplay (like the pre-order character skin)." I would rather pay upfront for any game than to get nickel and dimed later for "energy" to keep playing or "rubies" to complete some in game feature or speed up progression. For games that I actually spend time "playing" and not ONLY idling in, I like to kick the devs a little cash to show them my esteem. This is especially true for games that are NOT pay to win or such as in the case of "energy," pay to play (a little at a time). Guaranteed refund, no questions asked. I know this only applies to the end users who pre-order the game, but I can return the game "In addition to getting the pre-order bonuses, all pre-orders qualify for a full refund at any time, for any reason, no matter how many hours you've spent (or didn't spend) playing the game, for up to one year after we launch the game." This is one of the very best return policies I've seen on any product, let alone a digital one. I understand that if Playsaurus goes out of business or files for bankrupcy, there is a significant chance that I will lose my $30. I've been burned worse on games by other developers that never launched. However, these guys have been some of the most active developers with significant updates to content of any free to play game I've played that didn't also include wallet gouging for "required" in game content. Clicker heroes is a hugely fun and time consuming game that also includes almost 100% of the content available absolutely free to f2p players. Transparency. These guys aren't making grandiose promises about a huge title with next gen graphics and building a cry-engine from the ground up to create real time physics and 0 gravity gameplay. They don't have a projected release date, they don't have a list of stretch goals, and they also don't have a huge publisher to hound them about the details. Wait for the game to launch, watch some streams, and make your decision then. It's not just an idle game... it's an RPG! "Idle games can be set up to play for you while you're not there. Incremental games focus on growth and progress, and are often exponential in nature. Clicker games are usually both Idle and Incremental, but involve some amount of clicking. Clicker Heroes 2 is all of these, but with a focus on also being an action RPG. You play the hero. You kill monsters. Get gold. Choose gear. Upgrade gear. Learn talents. Defeat bosses. Progress to new worlds. Gain XP. Level up with a massive skill tree. Or just sit there and do nothing, your hero will do most of it for you." These are all elements I love from games I have played before. Amazing track record. Clicker heroes was an amazing game. I spent more time actively playing it than I have with most of the other idle/incremental/clicker games I've played... and I've played a significant number of them. I have always said, "I wish there was a game like this, but with more RPG elements." Who better to produce this than the team that also created my all time favorite idle game. I have a standard of valuating a video game based mostly on the number of hours of active and engaging gameplay. The standards of the industry have gone WAY down with regard to this lately... with the standard price of triple A titles reaching $60, even on PC releases... Publishers rushing games to release, even when they are not ready, creating a market saturated with 6-8 hours of game experience... And games with literally no story or pve content whatsoever. With this in mind, I expect to easily get my money's worth from Clicker Heroes 2... And if it sucks... I'll just get a refund.
funnily enough about that $60 price tag on AAA titles. They should actually be higher due to inflation. I don't remember where exactly I heard/read this but if accounted for inflation AAA games should cost around $100 today. And most of that ends up being spread across DLC/Season Passes/etc.
on the thousand on one person issue; i would just make a limit of ~50 bucks to spent unless the consumer agrees that they are trying to support the developers and is willing to spend the money without in-game reward (to check if the in game reward is the only reason or not)
I would pay $15 max for clicker heroes 2, and only that much because I loved clicker heroes so much. In my experience, the only clicker games that charge money up front are games that know they won't hook anyone for long enough for them to but microtransactions. Clicker heroes 2 is an exception because the developers have proven themselves, but nirmally charging money is a sign that its a bad clicker game anyway.
I agree with your statement about them already proving themselves. Also, it's very likely that after they release on steam... they will go on sale for 50% off at some point. This means that if $15 is your absolute price point, you will likely get to play it at that price eventually.
I feel slightly guilty running into this comment as I wait for the beta launch so I can start playing my preordered CH2 game. I guess I starting getting sick of micro-transactions and was more keen to encourage paid idle games with actual quality and no micro-transactions.
On the progress wipes: they discussed this with CH1, how sometimes they would add a new progression system (like Outsiders), and it would leave some systems in the past outdated and vestigial (Iris was completely removed, for example). They probably want the freedom to wipe the slate clean if they think they can make it work better, although like you, I hope they'd avoid putting everyone to flat 0. I've gotten way more than $30 of enjoyment out of CH1, but I'm also a huge cheapskate and will wait til CH2 is on sale. Still, I commend them for wanting to be fair to themselves and their customers, and am very excited to play CH2 when I can.
I have already spent 30 dollars for clickers heroes 2. I have absolutely no problems with that! I hate micro-transaction system, the pay to win system is just annoying... I was born in the 80's I spent way much on Atari2006 for awful games, 30 dollars is nothing in comparison. Also, clickers heroes 1 is really fun, I put my confidence into the developpers. Maybe they will screw it up... But even so, I will just retributed them for the fun I have had with clickers heroes 1.
there is a great amount you can do with skill, my dad played clicker heroes for 9 months longer after I stopped fro a while because I had things to do. I caught up to him in a week because I was more skilled and did things more efficiently, if you try do do things as efficient as possible there are any numbers of ways to improve and It can help you go far faster then others that play the game
One of the reasons I have "Clicker Heroes 2" on my wishlist is because I may be tempted to purchase it as a protest against in-game purchases. As a means to show developers that yes, gamers will pay more for complete games without withheld content. It is indeed a high price for a clicker game alone, but to me, the price includes a message.
I would pay $8 if it was better than Universal Paperclips (my favorite incremental game). I'm not a fan of clicker games, tbh, I am fine with giving money but I'm not so sure about giving my time.
Well, the thing is that a lot of people spend 450+ hours in the first game, no doubts the second one is going to have a lot more content and such. If that doesn't justify a high price tag then I don't really know what does.
Wastucar The same reason Minecraft modding blew up so much: automation, problem solving, progression, tech advancement, and having your setup you designed and built working and giving you some return.
My Steam shows 1000 hours play time in CH1, so 30 dollars if okay for me. For me, it is fun to find out the algorithm and write your own program to tell you about the next upgrade.
I used to have sw1ftbot doing that for me( sadly im not really into programming),but a couple of weeks ago the clicker part of it has failed,so manual mode for me...
i am buying clicker heroes 2 day 1. maybe preorder it. the teaser hyped me as much as monster hunter world did. thats how much i like clicker heroes. theres only one way for me: forward! people dont get it. ch 2 looks like the ferrari of the clickers. its premium. i simply love the trailer of it and CH1 is the only game that im playing for years.
For a game like clicker heroes, I'd gladly pay the 30 dollars. Why? 1: It's the most fair f2p title I have ever played with. Everything can earned by playing the game that you can buy(rubies),they have in-game "cheat" system for earning more of the game's currency 2: Fair development team. The "game" is constantly evolving, you can get a refund for rubies for whatever the reason ( not sure if its true through steam, appstore, playstore, etc) basically anytime. 3: Most importantly I'd rather pay for a game upfront $30(euros in my case, but they are fairly close) for a full experience, than experience the artificial bottlenecks to my progression, the constant and unskippable ads, the disgustingly priced in-game store and currencies. So yeah, for clicker heroes 2,i'll gladly pay the $30.
Have you played League of Legends? lol, it doesn't EVEN HAVE P2P features on it, in CH2 you can get ahead through buying rubies, but in League, you can't even get ahead after spending thousands of dollars into the game then your average joe who didn't spend a dime on the game. The only thing you get through buying the premium currency in League (Riot Points) is some cosmetics to make your characters look coolers, Thats it! And now it's the richest game company in the world, even after having 0 P2P elemenst in the game. Other games should take some notes from League and other fair games alike and learn how to make a proper business model.
You can buy all playable characters with RP which would take a long time otherwise also rune pages. But leagues system is much more insidious they make the game as geared as possible for casuals and people with low attention spans to get as wide an audience as possible while not really caring about the game as a whole or older players.
Tryhard Pants You do not need Rune pages at all whatsoever anymore, it helps but not nearly as much as before because you didn't edit Rune pages before in-game. Secondly, they've made getting champions far less of a grind with the new level'ing system, I've gotten alot of alts fully geared with all champions in only a matter of 2-3 months, while playing around 4 games a day~ roughly (which is only about 1 or 2 hours) One could actually consider this temporary barrier as a way to not get new players overwhelmed with the enormous amount of champions you can play(Problem with Dota 2), Thirdly, Why are you talking about the game as a whole anyways? (I was discussing about it's F2P aspect, nothing more) In-fact you're actually very wrong when you say the game is geared towards casuals, they've been focusing lately a lot more on competitive play as eSports becomes a bigger and bigger scene every year, a lot of people want League to BECOME a Casual game as most games are very face-paced and tense with no room to just relax and try whatever different champions etc you want, just randomly nitpicking it's shortcomings doesn't help any situation at all, you can't have both worlds, "Fun" and "Competitive" are 2 words that will never align with each other. I can write another huge essay explaining why that is but I think you get my point. P.S- Dota 2, one of competitor game's of League, actually does an arguably better job in terms of this "F2P" aspect as you don't even need to buy the Heroes in that game, since it comes completely for free, but as I've already mentioned before. even something as that can have it's own drawbacks.
Mythical They are gearing the game towards watchability. Shorter games more damage random things flying so shoutcasters can scream more and people with the IQ of about room temperature can still be entertained. I never said I wanted the game to be "fun" I even pointed it out as a big minus riot games constantly shacking the the Meta and balance. Have you noticed how every patch you are waiting for something broken to be fixed only for them to screw another thing in the same patch they fix it? What's the point of having a free to play game when instead of selling power to players you are selling the heart and soul of the game? I'm talking about the game as a whole because the whole thing is suffering to have that "true" FTP model you speak of. To the point that you cant even pay to enjoy it.
So right now there's no way I'd agree to it. But I already know that in a few months, I'm going to be bored and have some leftover cash; And then I'll come up with a lot of really bad reasons why I should totally buy it. So yeah I'm gonna buy it. Because Future Me is really, really stupid in my experience.
I really supported the devs and the work they've been putting into the game, But THIS? 30$ for a Idle game? There's no way I'll even consider paying for it.
I look at it as time of fun per money. I've had far more than $30 worth of fun playing clicker heroes. If CH2 is even better, I feel it's a bargain at $30. The fact that it's an idle game is immaterial. If the game is no good, it won't sell. If it's great, it will.
I loved Clicker Heroes, and Clicker Heroes 2 looks so much better - it's actually a game now, where you plan out a path and make a nice 'Opus Magmun'-esque mini-game with the Automator. I pre-ordered at the first moment I could. It's only 2hours of work at most anyways. I've never bought any Microtransactions either, btw
In essence, Clicker Heroes has already pretty much wiped out your save a couple times. When they introduced transcensions, mid game and late game made no difference after a couple days because the progression got much faster. In the latest update, transcensions got exponentially faster so the late game work of a dozen transcensions could be done in only one. This is not straight out making saves incompatible, but it basically wrecked your sense of progress at the time. Restarting completely might be better.
I think better questions to ask are 1) How much would you pay for a clicker game from a developer you know or for a new release of a game you already liked and 2) How much would you be willing to pay up front for an unknown game from an unknown developer? My reasoning is that people who have already played Clicker Heroes know they like the game so they would probably be more willing to pay up front for it than for a game they haven't tried from a developer they don't know. I think in the genre there is probably room for both models. This makes room for well established developers with well known and liked games to charge a decent up front fee but also leaves space for new developers to offer a game for free and still make some income for their work through micro transactions.
Are we sure its not 30$ for preorder only? the 30$ preorder does feature 20$ worth of crystals, so isn't it safe to assume that the game is actually only lets assume 15$ with Early access + 20$ of crystals added to a total of 30$?
I only found out during the 2019 Summer Steam sale, but the people who made Time Clickers are now doing the same thing. On Steam there is an early release game called Time Warpers which start out as a wave FPS before becoming your typical idle game.
@@ingeniousclown If you do get it, get to Stage 50 and pick up your first Time Cubes. It will be slow and pure FPS, though you can go to the menu and be immune to damage, and each x1 and x6 level has a healing area. After your first reset, butterflies are added that, if collected, will give bonus Time Cubes (blue) or bonus gold (if you beat x00) for those stages. It is after you get the hoverbike between Stage 50 and 100 and putting just one point in Automatic Fire that the game become more of an idle game if you want it. Now I just use the hoverbike to progress while turning on camera mode to look for and collect butterflies if needed. One can turn the idle features off and play it as a pure FPS for bonus Time Cubes for an extra challenge.
I'm a bit late to the party, but i thought they made it pretty clear that after the game was officially released they would not reset progress, just during the testing phase.
A while back i bought Spaceplan on steam for around $5 (i think) it was good as far as idle games go, it was funny and had a decent story. But because I had paid money for it I was much more critical of it and when I hit the end game I felt far less satisfied than I normally would have. I had a very strong sense of " oh well that's it then i paid $5 to waste my time and a few decent jokes" I thin in order to combat that feeling Clicker Hero's 2 will have to have a decent number of systems to make it feel like you are actually getting something than a counter for your money
I think I'd have a hard time going above the single digit value for an idle game due to competition with the free-to-play games and other indie games. Only if the game has amazing reviews and tons of depth could I see paying $10-15. But asking for $30, I'd just wait until it goes on sale.
I have spent hundreds of hours (1681 and counting according to Steam, although I had it in browser for a while before that) running Clicker Heroes in the background while doing other stuff. I've never given them a penny, while it has a tremendous amount of content. I've actually preordered the game, more as payment for the enjoyment of Clicker Heroes 1 than as a payment for CH2. I'm sure there will be loads of content in CH2, although I'm not sure if it will even be fun. We'll see. I won't regret my decision, even if it turns out to be bad.
I have played clicker heroes 1 extensively, and enjoyed it extremely but, have never spend any money on it. however, there is no way that I would pay 30 dollars up front for a sequel of what i experienced in clicker heroes 1. Not a chance.
Around 2007 a company called Meteor games was founded by the creators of Neopets, and they had a free game called Vikings Pirates and Ninjas (VPN) which was a increment game (you'd get x energy every 15 minutes to spend on quests). But it was heavily story driven (they had amazing writers) and had a very tight nit community of players which really made the game. Sadly that tight nit was very small and so they ran into financial difficulty and eventual after several other failed games Meteor games ceased and many of the staff went over to Playsaurus, who made Clicker Heroes. It breaks my heart to see VPN fail while CH thrive when it has zero story or community. What I'm trying to say is I'd pay $30 in a heartbeat to have VPN back
How much would I pay for an idle game? Max $9.99USD. The thing about idle games is they don't really have enough gameplay in them to warrent any more than a $10 price tag. Kind of out of necessity. If you pack too much gameplay into a clicker, it is no longer a clicker. Or, if the devs just spread it out, it gets frustratingly long. Another issue is that, like you said, there are so many other clicker games to chose from. I could buy an extreamly well-made, deeply balenced idle game with high production value for $30, or I could play 100 less attractive idle games for free. Which is more worthwhile? Depends on you, I guess. But for me, those hundred games will contain more content than the $30 game, even if I only play each free game for like an hour. The reason I say $10 is my max is because I consider it worthwihile to pay $10 to waste my time, if the game is at the same level as clicker heros 2 says it is. But for $10, I expect to basically not need to find a new incremental game for a year; and NOT have my saves deleted.
I don't know whether I'll buy it or wait for a sale (probably the latter), but just a quick comment. When it comes to progress resets, any major update could have the potential to 'reset' progress. I'm unclear on whether the developers of CH2 were referring to actual save resets, or power resets that are so significant they quickly invalidate progress. Lots of persistent games do this, from WoW to CH1 - in CH1, when they introduced transcendence it was, for all intents and purposes, a reset. Progress that would have taken months of dedicated play beforehand could be achieved and outpaced in a few days or weeks after the update.
Rewatching this video after clicker heroe's 2 beta release date announced. When they released an update for the original CH (clicker heroes) I believe v.1.10 ? It reset my progress and I had the same concern that you mention however it only reset that ascencion without entirely resetting the game and it supplied significant reward for the trouble. I wasn't expecting the public to have access to the beta when I watched your video last time but now I think maybe they were only referring to updates during the game's initial development and after first release, progress resets will no longer be an issue. This is all just speculation but hey, they seem to have the player's experience first and foremost so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
I did pre order CH2 so aperantly I would spend 30 on an idle game I have never spent money on in game purchases but I did get some "dlc" for idle games in the yoggscast humble bundle chairity thing I have had lots of fun with CH1 and from what I read was that it would have more RPG elements to it and also according to their website I have up to a year after the full release to get a refund
i dont think im paying for clicker heroes 2 till theres a sale on the game, ive played clicker heroes for over 3 years now and spent no money on it. i wouldnt pay for a clicker game unless it was super amazing and fun. i like the new patch that clicker heroes made but i feel like it has become too idle now, i ascend then leave the game running for half a day or more to get to enough hero souls, i could keep going but 40+ kills just to pass one zone takes too long, and i did some calculations and hitting zone 1mil is a lot easier now, it would just take 5-8days or more (lol forgot my math) just to get there, but u wouldnt even need to touch the game, just make sure its still running. hopefully they add something new to it so make us a bit more engage in the game. yet i still cant stop playing the game.
It'll be on sale every other week, and it's good to not have microtransactions. I think it'll be worth the money if you like those games, and it helps fund the devs. They have spent a long time on clicker heroes 1 for free so I think they deserve some money. I think they actually put effort into their game as well, they don't just use the same basic ideas but actually make a fun game.
I have seen what they have done to the game, I think 10 dollars is justifiable. At 10 dollars they would still make a ridiculous amount of money for a clicker game.
@ingeniousclown gaming at 8 mins ur asking for the reasoning i played the game its pretty much the only idle game ive ever played w a skill tree similar to poe's, and the reason they cant bring your save into new updates is because theyve done 2 different updates now one making a new character w a new skill tree and then the next update they reworked both skill trees entirely so now theres 4 u can play but the old ones arent as good as their new one imo people should really try before all this speculation tho nothing inheritantly wrong w it but this game did so bad aand i have no clue why it was very intricate.
but ye tahts why saves get messed up in new updates tehy made a really big complicated game and even tho no ones playing it still theyre still doing huge updates to it reworking the entirety for more replayability just cuz ur old save cant transfer into a brand new skill tree which is u played u know if make no sense but ye they didnt delete old updates new updates just kinda whole new game moreso.
If I was going to make an idle game that would cost money, I would make sure that it would be different. Maybe it would have a story, a minigame, something cool and new that literally no other idle game did. But sadly I don't have the resources to make one.
I've already pre-ordered because I believe in their philosophy and reasoning. Just this month, they posted a video detailing the basics of gameplay. Now that it's out, what do you think? I honestly think that, despite having played Time Clickers, which is 3D-ish and won't even run on a web browser because it's so "graphically intense", the way CH2 uses the capabilities of an application as opposed to a web game is...really nice. Cid's attacks feel like they've got power and speed, they're satisfying. You can't click infinitely so it retains some impact each time you mash click or use a clicking skill. I think the fact that they're basically repurposing the Sphere Grid and Gambit concepts from FF to add the RPG elements is great. Automating skills with basic if/then statements is neat, almost like a game in and of itself. I'm hyped, personally.
iv tried it... it seems like its constantly new aftwe a bit to me so i think its ok.. then again someone said in the comments here (and ill quote them here) "You didn't seem to mention that the game is refundable up to year of its release." so it seems like it should be fine!
I'm going to be buying it, as long as it's not just clicker heroes 1 with one or two extra features. If they innovate more than just a little I feel they should be successful.
They're also offering refunds for an entire year if you feel you didn't get your money's worth. Not sure why you left that really important aspect out.
Only by pre-ordering they give you $20 worth of Clicker Heroes 1 rubies. Therefore you would only "risk" $10 for the game and get the rest in rubies. But once the game is out, it will be a different story. You can look up gameplay then decide, but the fact of paying $30 would be something to really think about.
Yeah I probably shouldn't be using Hollow Knight music (unless I'm talking about the game), but I'm pretty bad at choosing music to go with these videos.
All in all Team Cherry seems pretty chill. I've seen a few other channels using the music without issue. While it's technically illegal, I don't think they really mind. If anything, it's probably free publicity.
As others have said, with the amount of time I played clicker heroes 1 and seemed to start the genre (or introduce me into it) I will have no problem paying for a game that the creators care about. Also when I played the 1st one when it was early in development, the creators were very engaging with their players and supplied a positive feedback loop with everyone envolved letting the game evolve and become more and more.
And in regard to your last question series, I currently pay for some extras in idle poring and the game keeps me quite entertained for a mobile one, even if content is gated by lack of updates if you progress quickly enough. Being as I've paid about 9 bucks a month for it so far for the last 3 months I have no problem dropping 30 this one.
well i've played clicker heroes 1 for 7694 hours now, so i'll probably get ch2 too, but i'll wait for a sale don't wanna pay more that 10-15 dollars for it
I have pre-ordered clicker heroes 2, giving I love all the core concepts, and the art style for me is the best of any idle game I've personally played. As I love the more bright/cartoon style. Just really my taste I guess, though I can fully understand why some might not think its worth it.
honestly ive seen many companies do this, they release a f2p idle game and then release some other paid games or other idle paid games. from my experience with them, usually they are worth the 2-5€ they cost, and some of them even remove mxt. the problem with f2p idle games and any other f2p game is the p2w system which many people dont exactly enjoy, and i prefer paying 30€ for it then it being f2p and being p2w kinda thing. this is why i dont enjoy buying games that have mxt in them, if im already giving the devs money for their game, i shouldnt have to pay anymore for it. Also, idle games have been existing for long, but in 2014/2015 is when they were re-invented to the CH and advt cap style of idle, they made sucess, a lot of people started doing it. however only the best and most unique idle games stay arround, so i dont worry much about it
I would pay at most 4 dollars. Cool content does not translate into enjoyability. If they will charge $30 damn dollars, it better add LOTS of new things to the table in the genre of idle games. I mean more than a few rare things, completely new stuff.
I have over 1000 hours in clicker heroes. It have been the perfect idle game for me. At work or at home. I have pre-order the clicker heros 2. And I don't think it's an unfair price since you also get 20$ worth in ruby's. Overall I trust the devs to bring a solid idle game.
found this video looking for more strat videos on clicker heros 2. I paid $30 and I love it. It might not be worth 30 in its current state for some people, but give it time and I think it will be worth it even for people who don't absolutely love idle games.
if there is an exploit that breaks the game in a free to play version forcing the pay to play to update resetting their progress would kill the game in a up front pay they don't have to force updates so breaks can be fixed
I considered the $30 as a donation to the developers. The $30 price tag is for the pre-order, where they say it will help in the development of Clicker Heroes 2, along with give you the game. I'm sure when the game is out, they're going to lower the price of the game to something more reasonable for the average consumer. Me, being a huge fan of Clicker Heroes, wanted to help support the developer along with get the game, and therefore I paid the $30 price. But not all people can find reason behind paying $30 for an incremental game. Or maybe that was me misunderstanding everything the developers said... idk.
I'd pay around £7 max, although it doesn't matter so much on steam because of the refund system. I have bought microtransactions in both clicker heroes and adventure capatalist, can't really remember how much I spent but I don't think it was over £20 in total.
I mean, it has the equivalent of a gambit system, and I've never seen a game with a gambit system I didn't love. So if I get the chance I sure will take it. Worst case scenario, it's a game that sits there and get more use then most games I've bought for my pc.
Iphone X: $999
33 copies of Clicker Heroes 2: $990
Who needs an iPhone. I'll just buy 33 copies of CH2
Make the right choice :)
give me my clicker heroes2
Yea I'm ready for clicker heros 2
i would still go for CH2
You didn't seem to mention that the game is refundable up to year of its release.
Really? That actually completely changes things for me
Sentient Darkness This should be pinned

He also failed to mention that $20 of that $30 preorder price is for $20 worth of Clicker Heroes 1 rubies.
Just because I suspect people will be looking at the replies :
www.clickerheroes2.com
....Dunno why he couldn't have just linked the website instead of quoting it.
I would not pay 30 dollars for an idle game simply because I've never played one that has enough gameplay to warrant a 30 dollar pricetag
the pre order is 30$ its possible that the game it self might be way cheaper
Ezpzrpg is an awesome idle game. Has lots of content and is similar to diablo in its loot system but it drips of paytowin. I honestly just hope this new game is like that one but something that looks worth 30$
Isn't it usually the other way?
Just because a Clicker game isn’t something you enjoy, doesn’t mean others won’t spend massive amounts of time in it.
i would pay 2-5$
i wouldn't play
so a year passed.
25 dollar price tag.
3 achievements.
EARLY ACCESS still a year later? really?
early access a year later isnt that bad and isnt uncommon
It’s now 20 2 years later
@@lostcolonyforge5792 It's still too much with the current market. Games like Legends of Idleon and others are way better Idle games and are completely free when they could justify a similar pricetag. They'd have to revolutionize the concept way more to completely justify it.
and this is coming from someone who originally defended them. They just didn't keep up with the current market. Its blown right past them with many better games being made by singular developers. Their game just looks sad in comparison.
this aged well
Tfw a clicker game is 30$ while something like stalker which is a timeless game is 20
x-AsHeR I'm surprised this game is less than or more expensive compared to quality games such as PUBG and CSGO
But people would play clicker heroes for HOURS and csgo is usually just like 3 hours at a time
cod_time This + I've seen a lot of people sink 400+ hours on the first Clicker Heroes (Ingenious Gaming himself for example), yet Stalker, even if it's a great game, doesn't contain that many hours of gameplay. Heck, Dark Souls 1, which is an outstanding game, has given me 150+ hours of gameplay, when in The Kittens Game I have allegedly 400+ hours, which may pretty much be 100+ hours of in game time, and as far as I know I'm half-way through the game.
Actually, CH2 is still more worth it than some of the games mentioned in the reply section (including the first one)
I paid $30 because I've played clicker heroes for over 5000 hours and want to support the devs.
This is just sad
@@astro3213 lmfao
It would have been worth it if the gane hadn't been abandoned
Pre-order has a one year full refund, with $20 in rubies. If you enjoy CH 1 and ever bought rubies, it's a no no-brainer.
That Hollow Knight music you used in the background is so calming.
I think any idle game needs to put up a free demo on steam if there going to make you pay theres no way im going to buy a clicker game i havent even tried and the 2 hour refund window for steam dosent really work with idle games
The game is refundable for 1 year after release, no questions asked.
and the pre order gives 20$ of gems for ch1
Except it's a year. It's on the website.
Final reason: Pre-orders don't make sense if a game is free-to-play. Pre-orders qualify for full refunds for up to a year after we launch: www.clickerheroes2.com/.

*one year for this game*
I would pay up to $5 for an idle game if it was much better than any idle game I've ever played.
I _might_ be willing to pay $2 for some of the idle games I've been playing until now.
There are a few idle games where I've thought about buying some microtransactions, up to $2, but they required spending more than $2 for upgrades that definitely aren't worth it.
I'll be buying it, loved the original, and this method means getting everything upfront without having to worry about rubies or microtransactions.
thinking about hours which I've spent on clicker heroes, 30 dollars which is like 25 euros, is nothing, if thinking about euros per hour.
Wuffa20 what are you doing in these hours ? nothing ?
If it's not game, what is it? That's a lie, everything doesn't happen automatically.

Here are my reasons:
No DLC or microtransactions!
I've already spent more than $30 on the first game, so this flat fee will probably save me money.
it really matters on the reviews. if the game is good, fun, and an absolute waste of time than maybe. if not, then id rather get other indie games.
also: "this thing is worth a read. im not gonna read it out to you."
on the thousand on one person issue; i would just make a limit of ~50 bucks to spent unless the consumer agrees that they are trying to support the developers and is willing to spend the money without in-game reward (to check if the in game reward is the only reason or not)
ALSO HAHAHAHHAHAHA I WAS FIRST :3
I thought of that solution too. Almost like SMITE's and Battlerite's "pay 30 bucks and get all the playable content forever" model, in a way.
Joseph Boyd i dont think its gonna be a bad game when i look at the first game its my fav Clicker game
I agree with your statement about them already proving themselves. Also, it's very likely that after they release on steam... they will go on sale for 50% off at some point. This means that if $15 is your absolute price point, you will likely get to play it at that price eventually.
Ca55per you can refund it
one they allow refunds for any reason and two they won't do micro transactions for ethical reasons
Spylo is the game fun?
Jasper Jooss you mean clicker heroes 2? Well he just preordered it so he doesn't know right now
there is a great amount you can do with skill, my dad played clicker heroes for 9 months longer after I stopped fro a while because I had things to do. I caught up to him in a week because I was more skilled and did things more efficiently, if you try do do things as efficient as possible there are any numbers of ways to improve and It can help you go far faster then others that play the game
The Devs are going to become EA
I will pay the 30 because i have over 3k hours in CH so im a big fan of it and idle games at all so its a must have for me idc how much it cost xD
ImCabbi ImCabbi How many of those hours are it running while you do something not even close to related?
How do you have 3k hours in an idle game?
One of the reasons I have "Clicker Heroes 2" on my wishlist is because I may be tempted to purchase it as a protest against in-game purchases. As a means to show developers that yes, gamers will pay more for complete games without withheld content. It is indeed a high price for a clicker game alone, but to me, the price includes a message.
I just realized/remembered that many people play "The Sims" like it's an idle game.
You should do a vid on Factorio. Maybe about why it's so addictive or why it's one of the most highly rated games on steam?
I haven't actually played Factorio :(
Wastucar The same reason Minecraft modding blew up so much: automation, problem solving, progression, tech advancement, and having your setup you designed and built working and giving you some return.
ingeniousclown Gaming You should definitely try Factorio
Factorio FTW
+Wastucar Alright I bought Factorio and now I'm wasting time on that instead of working on my scripts. This game is crack...
TurbiiiReloaded *the strange case of gaming addiction* XD
Could you add the music used in your videos to the description.
The song is city of tears from hollow Knight
It's just various selections from the Hollow Knight OST. I've added "Music from Hollow Knight OST" to the description. The whole OST is pretty great.
i am buying clicker heroes 2 day 1. maybe preorder it. the teaser hyped me as much as monster hunter world did. thats how much i like clicker heroes. theres only one way for me: forward! people dont get it. ch 2 looks like the ferrari of the clickers. its premium. i simply love the trailer of it and CH1 is the only game that im playing for years.
Akaji Blubb don’t remind me of Monster Hunter World. I keep being reminded how long I have to wait to get it.
Akaji Blubb and was it worth buying??
For a game like clicker heroes, I'd gladly pay the 30 dollars. Why?
1: It's the most fair f2p title I have ever played with. Everything can earned by playing the game that you can buy(rubies),they have in-game "cheat" system for earning more of the game's currency
2: Fair development team.
1. Its fair because lack of content.
2. Evolving. For a looooooong time.
3. I rather paid 5$
(I was discussing about it's F2P aspect, nothing more)
In-fact you're actually very wrong when you say the game is geared towards casuals, they've been focusing lately a lot more on competitive play as eSports becomes a bigger and bigger scene every year, a lot of people want League to BECOME a Casual game as most games are very face-paced and tense with no room to just relax and try whatever different champions etc you want, just randomly nitpicking it's shortcomings doesn't help any situation at all, you can't have both worlds, "Fun" and "Competitive" are 2 words that will never align with each other.
Self-awareness is the ultimate enemy, sometimes.
30 dollars for a idle game or 35 for witcher 3
Or 20 for god of war
I really supported the devs and the work they've been putting into the game,
But THIS? 30$ for a Idle game?
There's no way I'll even consider paying for it.
I look at it as time of fun per money. I've had far more than $30 worth of fun playing clicker heroes. If CH2 is even better, I feel it's a bargain at $30. The fact that it's an idle game is immaterial. If the game is no good, it won't sell. If it's great, it will.
Anybody notice that the gameplay in the backgrounds damage system goes from million to trillion without billion in between?
I loved Clicker Heroes, and Clicker Heroes 2 looks so much better - it's actually a game now, where you plan out a path and make a nice 'Opus Magmun'-esque mini-game with the Automator. I pre-ordered at the first moment I could. It's only 2hours of work at most anyways. I've never bought any Microtransactions either, btw
I'm glad.
Isn't the first one on coolmath games?
What is the game in the background
The save resets kinda sound like seasonal characters in diablo/POE type games, which doesn’t sound too bad.
Is that hollow knight music in the background?
I saw the game when it was first announced. When I discovered it was 30$ I decided to not play it.
CH2 is better than any other clicker, that's why.
That sounds fascinating. I gotta check that out
@@ingeniousclown If you do get it, get to Stage 50 and pick up your first Time Cubes.
I had a very strong sense of " oh well that's it then i paid $5 to waste my time and a few decent jokes"
I thin in order to combat that feeling Clicker Hero's 2 will have to have a decent number of systems to make it feel like you are actually getting something than a counter for your money
Cudos to the developers for not going for the shady loot boxes and addictive microtransactions.
Why is there hollow knight music in the background?
Why not?
What I'm trying to say is I'd pay $30 in a heartbeat to have VPN back
whats the name of that game which hes playing there?
+Madara4EVER I mention it multiple times in the video and I talk about it explicity. It's even in the description.
Thuis is font about Clicker Heores 2
Its come out and the game is 100% worth it
I did pre order CH2 so aperantly I would spend 30 on an idle game
I have never spent money on in game purchases
but I did get some "dlc" for idle games in the yoggscast humble bundle chairity thing
I have had lots of fun with CH1
and from what I read was that it would have more RPG elements to it
and also according to their website I have up to a year after the full release to get a refund
love the hollow knight music in the backgraund
i dont think im paying for clicker heroes 2 till theres a sale on the game, ive played clicker heroes for over 3 years now and spent no money on it. i wouldnt pay for a clicker game unless it was super amazing and fun. i like the new patch that clicker heroes made but i feel like it has become too idle now, i ascend then leave the game running for half a day or more to get to enough hero souls, i could keep going but 40+ kills just to pass one zone takes too long, and i did some calculations and hitting zone 1mil is a lot easier now, it would just take 5-8days or more (lol forgot my math) just to get there, but u wouldnt even need to touch the game, just make sure its still running. hopefully they add something new to it so make us a bit more engage in the game. yet i still cant stop playing the game.
@ingeniousclown gaming at 8 mins ur asking for the reasoning i played the game its pretty much the only idle game ive ever played w a skill tree similar to poe's, and the reason they cant bring your save into new updates is because theyve done 2 different updates now one making a new character w a new skill tree and then the next update they reworked both skill trees entirely so now theres 4 u can play but the old ones arent as good as their new one imo people should really try before all this speculation tho nothing inheritantly wrong w it but this game did so bad aand i have no clue why it was very intricate.
but ye tahts why saves get messed up in new updates tehy made a really big complicated game and even tho no ones playing it still theyre still doing huge updates to it reworking the entirety for more replayability just cuz ur old save cant transfer into a brand new skill tree which is u played u know if make no sense but ye they didnt delete old updates new updates just kinda whole new game moreso.
are you going to review clicker heroes 2 for us when it comes out?
I probably will, I dunno how long it'll be before I'll write something though.
Clicker heroes 1 was so good and with a lot of content and I expect the same from CH 2. So I dont might paying 30$ for it.
questio; will ch2 be 30 dollar on release or is that just the pre order
+UltraHawk It will be 30 on release
i want more games to do this. micro-transactions ruin games, especially online games and games that you need to pay to get any progress
At this point I'm more excited to see the overall reception once it's released, haha
Ruffboy2 tacos a preview have just been released, the games are vastly different, search it up
They're also offering refunds for an entire year if you feel you didn't get your money's worth. Not sure why you left that really important aspect out.
game name ?
30 dollars for clicker game? What a joke. I don't know what quality it must be to justify that price tag.
I have a question. In some of your vids you used music of Hollow Knight. Isn't that "illegal"?
Yeah I probably shouldn't be using Hollow Knight music (unless I'm talking about the game), but I'm pretty bad at choosing music to go with these videos.
All in all Team Cherry seems pretty chill. I've seen a few other channels using the music without issue.
While it's technically illegal, I don't think they really mind. If anything, it's probably free publicity.
Thanks for the quick answers^^
Don't compare games on price and content with Hollow Knight. It's unfair. It's like comparing with Terraria.
sllypper *cough* terraria is minecradt in 2d
coolkid gaming thats a very ignorant thing to say...
coolkid gaming Not. Even. Close.
coolkid gaming ignorance bleeds
Terraria is a lot more Castlevania-y in combat than Minecraft. Let's only say that ;)
As others have said, with the amount of time I played clicker heroes 1 and seemed to start the genre (or introduce me into it) I will have no problem paying for a game that the creators care about.
Already pre-ordered the game, I would have hesitated to do so but the 1 year refundable time period made spending the money much easier.
I'm living in a box to feed my video a month addiction!
well i've played clicker heroes 1 for 7694 hours now,
so i'll probably get ch2 too, but i'll wait for a sale
don't wanna pay more that 10-15 dollars for it
I have pre-ordered clicker heroes 2, giving I love all the core concepts, and the art style for me is the best of any idle game I've personally played. As I love the more bright/cartoon style. Just really my taste I guess, though I can fully understand why some might not think its worth it.
The amount I would pay would be relative to the amount of entertainment the game would provide up to around £25 ish
honestly ive seen many companies do this, they release a f2p idle game and then release some other paid games or other idle paid games. from my experience with them, usually they are worth the 2-5€ they cost, and some of them even remove mxt. the problem with f2p idle games and any other f2p game is the p2w system which many people dont exactly enjoy, and i prefer paying 30€ for it then it being f2p and being p2w kinda thing. this is why i dont enjoy buying games that have mxt in them, if im already giving the devs money for their game, i shouldnt have to pay anymore for it.
Ike that that is three times the price of undertail one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time
I have over 1000 hours in clicker heroes. It have been the perfect idle game for me. At work or at home. I have pre-order the clicker heros 2. And I don't think it's an unfair price since you also get 20$ worth in ruby's. Overall I trust the devs to bring a solid idle game.
10 dollars would be the most I would pay for an idle game. It would have to do something I havent really seen before.
found this video looking for more strat videos on clicker heros 2.
I think they wanted a total of 30$ for their work, but they accidentally set it for the entire game price.
30$ seems to much
i've spent 5-20$ some month on MMOs but never on idle games
don't know if it would break production multipliers
Holy shit you really do love Hollow Knight's Ost! I mean, i do too, but you use it in almost every video! It's abit much, is all.
I mean, it has the equivalent of a gambit system, and I've never seen a game with a gambit system I didn't love. So if I get the chance I sure will take it. Worst case scenario, it's a game that sits there and get more use then most games I've bought for my pc.
5000 hours in CH here and i dont even seen all the content yet.
So if CH 2 has that amount of content then its a nobrainer!
It's a no brainer for me to wait for it to go on sale.
@@shadowwolf1762 its a no brainer to buy it play for a couple of months and when i get bored, refund
