He was more than Chandler. I consider “17 Again” and “Fools Rush In” as iconic roles of his. The fact he was so honest and transparent and went to rehab over 15 time shows his strength and tenacity. Very admirable qualities in a person. He won’t be forgotten and my love to his parents, siblings and Keith Morrison.🙏🏽
I loved those movies, Fools Rush In is one of my favourite romcoms. I also liked him in Three to Tango, especially the part when the guy on the bus was hitting on him after seeing his picture in the newspaper declaring that he was gay.
It’s sad that i am in the same boat as him. Been to rehab morethan ten times within 2 years. He said “ when i die, I don’t want friends to be the first thing that’s mentioned”….. And he turned his malibu house to be sober living and called perry house. His last posts feels like me. The time I decided to end things , i said same thing 💔 I am so tired of putting happy face mask, when I am dying inside one day at a time. I wished i was his friend. After releasing his book , he had many interviews and still no one was there for him. How sad is that. Only his assistance. If i die. I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me. I don’t want anyone to cry for me when no one was there and i saw showing red flags flashing. I don’t want anyone to wear black clothes but i want them to put white cloth on and celebrate my life. Being lonely in a place where there is ocean of people 💔

I love this comment, because it's so true, can't count the times I've had a bad day and have had no one to turn to (specially in my teens) and this show was my comfort show, right after highschool, in Uni.. and later on, when grading my own student's papers, I would have it on the background for company.

My oldest son died 3 days before his 54th birthday on 9-4-19. I have cried many, many tears for my son but since I heard the news about Matthew Perry’s untimely tragic passing, I find myself breaking down in tears so many more times every day. I hope Matt and Rick find each other in heaven because not only were they kinda close in age (and I also have a son born in 1968), my oldest son had a wicked sense of humor and was such a smart, loving, caring man and father. I think I will be missing both of these talented young men for the rest of my life. And, please God, don’t take my younger son or any of my 5 younger daughters until I have already gone to meet Rick and Matty in heaven…I just don’t think I could stand it. And please comfort his mother, step-father and father because I understand just how devastatingly hard losing Matty-man is for them…..and can it be any harder to lose a child, no matter their age? The answer is…NO, it cannot. RIP Rick Conn and Matthew Perry….and save me a seat between the two of you guys….…okay? I’ll find you as soon as I can, don’t worry.

I think the reason why we all love Matthew Perry so much is that he was real and up ftont about all that he had been through. He made us laugh, yes, but we didn't really know what he was going through until years later. He was so unhappy and tried to mask all of that with whatever would numb the pain for a while. It is just so maddening that after all of the pain and fighting to get his life back, that this is what happened to him! It is NOT FAIR! For a person who tried so hard, so many times and also devoted his life to helping others who were struggling with addiction like he had- to have his life end like this is just not right. I think that we all feel like he was taken away, just when he had started to really live and enjoy his life and himself. It is so unfair and i think that is why we all are so upset, hurt, sad, angry and will not get over this for a very long time. We are sorry Matthew. And we love you. ❤❤❤🥰🤗🙏

I have never been so sad over the loss of an actor and great comedian and person. Matthew Perry was such a gifted individual and I don't think he really knew that. I can't stop thinking about him and how hard he fought to get better and why did this happen!?! It is beyond heartbreaking- it is trauma that all who loved him, and were rooting for him, will never forget. Praying for his family and all of his friends. ❤❤❤🙏

Yes maybe if that jet ski accident never did happen, he may not have spent the next couple decades struggling however he would not be the strong, brave, open man we know and love. I watched a "Behind the Scenes" video & when the writers couldn't come up with a funny enough line for Chandler, they went to him to get his input. They used his suggestions almost every time!
Friends is the epitome of comfort TV. Doesn’t matter how many times we rewatch it, it can still make us laugh. Matthew Perry is one of those actors we can watch over and over. What an honor to let him entertain us.

My favorite Chandler one-liner was from “The One With All The Poker.” Someone says “Guess what?” And Chandler says “The fifth dentist caved, and now they’re ALL recommending Trident?” You’d have to remember the Trident gum commercials from the 80’s to get it, but it was really funny. 😂😂😂

I never got to meet Matthew Perry, but I always felt like he was kind of a part of me. Before I was born my parents were having trouble deciding on a name for me and they just so happened to be watching the episode where Phoebe is trying to figure out the name of the third baby and it's between Joey and Chandler. When Chandler is going on and on about how his name was the reason he was made fun of and it's a horrible name, my parents, like Phoebe, disagreed. That's when I got my name. Growing up watching the show, I related to Chandler as a character a lot, his sense of humor, his wit, his social awkwardness, and now watching the show, it'll never be the same, but he'll always be a part of something more that he never knew about. Thank you Matthew, for all the good times you gave me. Rest in peace now my friend.

I have been both waiting for and dreading this video a little bit. Thank you for putting the effort into making a tribute. I feel guilty being so upset by the loss of someone I never knew, but just reading about his journey with addiction was a massive factor that has helped with my own recovery. I hope Matthew is now at peace, and I can't imagine what his friends and family are going though.

My sister & I were talking about him. Neither of us can believe he’s gone. We grew up watching FRIENDS. Chandler was the funniest guy on the show. I loved his character & no one could have played him like Matthew did. I also loved the love story of Monica and Chandler which was so relatable. His loss hits home. It’s painful to think we will never see those 6 together again. It feels wrong. I wanted them to be 80 together.

I love all the characters but Chandler is the one I could relate to the most. As someone who has struggled with depression and anxiety I too use sarcasm and humour as a defense mechanism. I don't wanna be insensitive to his real family and friends but I genuinely feel like I lost a friend. I just feel so empty and sad. I miss him so much 💔
I just was talking about Depression with my family, today. But, Watching FRIENDS and Chandler, in particular, was my way of coping. It’s Amazing the positive Impact Matthew had on people.
Friends is very important series for me because it's my comfort show and it always gives me good emotions when I feel anxious. Also when I was 14 I was watching Friends to practice my English listening and it improved really quickly. And I was SO happy when I started to understand Chandler's jokes! He was always my favorite character and I even associated myself with him in a way. And even though I didn't know much about Matthew and I didn't see him in other roles, I'm so sad that he's not with us anymore. I was never so upset about celebrity's death. The Whole 9 yards is on one of our national channels tonight. He was Chandler, apparently most of what he did was spontaneous. Such a great show, has been on repeat here since it finished, one of the few American shows, that was funny. Poignant to me at the time as I was their age at this time. What a loss for us all, he was unique. It is a pity life got hard for him, when the show ended, seems to be a sad side affect of the American Acting Community that the lifestyle moves to where it does. 20 years ago we named our daughter Chandler after the beloved character Matthew Perry brought to life. And then our daughter was born on Perry’s birthday (obviously a different year!), we knew it was meant to be. I am heartbroken for his friends & family. RIP, Bingaling!
I think the thing saddest of all is that he wanted to get married and have children and never found the right woman. A man with absolutely no money issues, basically forever, no one in his family would have ever had to work a day in their lives, but the simplest biological imperative was never fulfilled. This must have been crushing for him and I truly do wish him peace. I am happy for him he is liberated of the troubles of this realm.

I have never been so sad over the loss of an actor and great comedian and person. Matthew Perry was such a gifted individual and I don't think he really knew that. I can't stop thinking about him and how hard he fought to get better and why did this happen!?! It is beyond heartbreaking- it is trauma that all who loved him, and were rooting for him, will never forget. Praying for his family and all of his friends. ❤❤❤🙏
Marybeth, such a darling post about a darling man. I have also been hit hard by our loss, having a cry each night, before drifting off to sleep. I don't know why, but I'm so thankful that this beautiful man, ( both inside and out), came into my life, to bring joyous tears of laughter as well. I love you, Mr Bing.❤😂😢

He said on an interview that he doesn’t want to be remembered just for friends but for helping other addicts. Yes maybe if that jet ski accident never did happen, he may not have spent the next couple decades struggling however he would not be the strong, brave, open man we know and love. You will forever be remembered as you are a true friend 🩷

I watched a "Behind the Scenes" video & when the writers couldn't come up with a funny enough line for Chandler, they went to him to get his input. They used his suggestions almost every time!

My favorite Chandler one-liner was from “The One With All The Poker.” Someone says “Guess what?” And Chandler says “The fifth dentist caved, and now they’re ALL recommending Trident?” You’d have to remember the Trident gum commercials from the 80’s to get it, but it was really funny. 😂😂😂

I never got to meet Matthew Perry, but I always felt like he was kind of a part of me. Before I was born my parents were having trouble deciding on a name for me and they just so happened to be watching the episode where Phoebe is trying to figure out the name of the third baby and it's between Joey and Chandler. When Chandler is going on and on about how his name was the reason he was made fun of and it's a horrible name, my parents, like Phoebe, disagreed. That's when I got my name. Growing up watching the show, I related to Chandler as a character a lot, his sense of humor, his wit, his social awkwardness, and now watching the show, it'll never be the same, but he'll always be a part of something more that he never knew about. Thank you Matthew, for all the good times you gave me. Rest in peace now my friend.

I have been both waiting for and dreading this video a little bit. Thank you for putting the effort into making a tribute. I feel guilty being so upset by the loss of someone I never knew, but just reading about his journey with addiction was a massive factor that has helped with my own recovery. I hope Matthew is now at peace, and I can't imagine what his friends and family are going though.

My sister & I were talking about him. Neither of us can believe he’s gone. We grew up watching FRIENDS. Chandler was the funniest guy on the show. I loved his character & no one could have played him like Matthew did. I also loved the love story of Monica and Chandler which was so relatable. His loss hits home. It’s painful to think we will never see those 6 together again. It feels wrong. I wanted them to be 80 together.
Can't believe he is gone. Thank for doing this bec he always able to make the punchline crazy hilarious. He was a genius able to make all the action n dance so naturally funny.

I love all the characters but Chandler is the one I could relate to the most. As someone who has struggled with depression and anxiety I too use sarcasm and humour as a defense mechanism. I don't wanna be insensitive to his real family and friends but I genuinely feel like I lost a friend. I just feel so empty and sad. I miss him so much 💔
I just was talking about Depression with my family, today. But, Watching FRIENDS and Chandler, in particular, was my way of coping. It’s Amazing the positive Impact Matthew had on people.
Friends is very important series for me because it's my comfort show and it always gives me good emotions when I feel anxious. Also when I was 14 I was watching Friends to practice my English listening and it improved really quickly. And I was SO happy when I started to understand Chandler's jokes! He was always my favorite character and I even associated myself with him in a way. And even though I didn't know much about Matthew and I didn't see him in other roles, I'm so sad that he's not with us anymore. I was never so upset about celebrity's death. Rest in peace, Matthew 💔 Thank you for positive emotions that you gave to us!

Being a life-long fan of Friends, I still can't believe this is real. 😔 I completely adored all the main cast members of the show, but Chandler Bing was my absolute favorite and easily one of the best TV characters of all time. The Whole 9 yards is on one of our national channels tonight. He was Chandler, apparently most of what he did was spontaneous. Such a great show, has been on repeat here since it finished, one of the few American shows, that was funny. Poignant to me at the time as I was their age at this time. What a loss for us all, he was unique. It is a pity life got hard for him, when the show ended, seems to be a sad side affect of the American Acting Community that the lifestyle moves to where it does. We only have our Rugby and Cricket players here to follow, doesn't mean that these things still don't affect their lives. Thank your for this quick review. And sympathies to all he knew and family. 20 years ago we named our daughter Chandler after the beloved character Matthew Perry brought to life. And then our daughter was born on Perry’s birthday (obviously a different year!), we knew it was meant to be. I am heartbroken for his friends & family. RIP, Bingaling!
I think the thing saddest of all is that he wanted to get married and have children and never found the right woman. A man with absolutely no money issues, basically forever, no one in his family would have ever had to work a day in their lives, but the simplest biological imperative was never fulfilled. This must have been crushing for him and I truly do wish him peace. I am happy for him he is liberated of the troubles of this realm.
It doesn't seem real, it is not going to be the same just knowing he is gone! I own the whole ten season's and watch them often, especially when my life has been at it's lowest!
