If you can get your hands on a copy, please review _Orthodox Prayers of Old England_ . It's now out of print but was at one time authorised by ROCOR. It seems very well regarded.

I've been on the hunt for years. I have a few friends who own copies, but won't loan it out, for good reason. I do have scans of a great deal of the book, but not sufficient for a video.

I have a copy of the book, "Orthodox Prayers of Old England" meself! It wasn't published by a canonical jurisdiction, so I don't know whether it is "approved" or not. The priest, Fr Aiden Keller, now of ROCOR, was formerly a member of said jurisdiction, translated and compiled the prayerbook.

I use this book every day. It is perfect for my prayer rule. Even though I attend a Greek Orthodox Church, this is by far my favorite book for daily use. I will probably go back and forth between this book and the Hapgood Servce book. Both are excellent. I like this one a little better though because it has the complete psalter. I’m a former Episcopalian so this book really speaks to me. Keep up the great reviews brother. Love you man!

I’m actually in ROCOR (eastern rite), but I can admit that the Antiochian Western Rite is much better organised than ours. They’ve done an excellent job putting together books, rubrics, and all that other good stuff.

This sounds like the one for me. The stations of the cross, services for Ash Wednesday etc, little red, and the psalter, all in one book is what I have been looking for. I can find a lectionary in other prayer books or some bibles. Do you know if it has the psalter divided up into the Kathisma? I like praying the psalms, but I also use the services for Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, etc., from the BCP for family ministry. Most Protestants have no liturgy outside of hymn books and since I don't have a church anyway, having some kind of structure where I can celebrate holy days with my family is helpful.

The psalter is arranged the same way it would be in a traditional book of common prayer: 30 days, morning and evening.

I just got one. Very nice. I really like the Stations of the Cross office. I have been doing 1928 BCP Morning and Evening prayer for years and I really like the slimmer version. The only thing I would miss is the omission of the Gloria in Vespers/Evensong.
    Thanks again

Actually, Rite I in the current (1979) BCP is significantly different from this book, having rearranged the Offertory from the traditional, Orthodox, position to conform to the 'Anaphora of Hippolytus' that is all the rage amongs the post-Vatii western denominations.

Former catholic, currently just a christian.
I'm wanting to get in the habit of prayer, morning, evening, some for special occasions or subjects, and reading psalms, maybe a fasts calendar.
Is this book adequate or is another more suited for my purposes?

Between this, the Hapgood, and Little Red - you really have a very complete liturgical and prayer library. There are so many great prayer books but if you want a more consistent translation of the Psalms (which I prefer), the Antiochian books are the way to go. I love the other prayer books outside of the Antiochian church but the Psalms are different in almost all of them and it is more than a little annoying.

As a new "Antiochian," how fun that it has the Little Red in it. As a former Chicagoland-dweller, I love that it has the Angelus -- much-beloved of the Irish! As one with a full bookshelf, let me say that I am never disappointed to tour books that I don't HAVE to own, but can almost smell from afar....Thanks! 🙏🕯☦
