The CLA-000M is HB’s version of the Martin 000M, an iconic guitar at about 2 grand MRSP. I own both and, eyes closed, I can’t tell them apart. Slight difference in weight and the smoother surface on the HB are the only tells. Awesome bargain considering I paid less for the HB, including shipping AND the Burst finish, than I paid Martin for JUST the for the Burst finish ALONE ($250 option).
CL-"custom line" A -auditorium (size of guitar body) 14- probably at which fret the body joins the neck, and O, OO, or OOO- stands for orchestra( relative body size compared to usual classical guitar dimensions. These terms are a result of marketing labels (eg D means "dreadnought"[ body size similar to Martin prewar large bodied name] and J usually means "jumbo"[ body size similar to Gibson's jumbo acoustics like the J 200. These terms are confusing but they are not set in stone so are for only the convenience of the seller in describing guitar types to potential buyers)
I have a 1947 Martin 00-17 which is basically the same shape and size and is also all mahogany. Yep, from the video they sound quite alike, I have to admit. Only mine's price is close to 4000 €. I think this baby is a hell of a finger-picking guitar and a bargain!!
I will think about this one. When I saw your youtube video about Ibanez GRX40... I bought it to start learning... again. And it is really comfortable to play! Now when my trust to your opinions builded up this one HB is really interesting. At the same point I fell in love with blues and fingerpicking. I'm thinking about Ibanez PC12MH OPN. This seems also pretty nice as a begginer guitar.
Sounds a lot BIGGER than you would expect for a $200 acoustic! 30 years ago a $200 acoustic would have been considered somewhat 'expensive', and were NOWHERE near as good as today's $200 acoustics! \m/
I'd say "Hi there" or Yo-whaz-up" ... The guitar's tone sounds quite "congested" but my guess is it should "open" up nicely - into a warm-ish guitar that's perfect for crooners.
What I would love to hear is the Harley Benton 12 strings electric guitar, like Steve Howe used to play. It is probably the next thing I buy from them in the coming months if we are all still alive. That and their jumbo guitars.
(continuing) I bought the 12 fret because I love 12 fret Slotted head guitars. Full disclosure, I did replace the tuners with the same Grover Sta-Tite tuners that Martin uses as well as Martin strings. Both HB guitars are easily comparable to my Martin. Tony Emmanuel once said that the best guitar is the one you can’t put down. For me it’s currently the HB CLP-15M VS. ps: I’ve since added the Kepma Magnetic Resonance Pickup, UNBELIEVABLY good. Google it...
It it holds tuning I'm fine If it sounds half way good I'm Ok If the pre amp puts out a sound I'm fine This guy is the funniest guitar reviewer! That's why I'm a subscriber!
I don't understand why people put those sounddestructive fishmans on that guitar when sounds amazing. Exist at same price a best options with no pre amp. Pre amp on acoustic guitars it is to kill the natural sound of the body, 20 per cent less!
i'm aware that making a comment about a guitar by its sound heared on YT video might not always be a proper way to judge, but i will make some judgement ;) I'm about to buy a guitar, aiming on solid-top or all-solid wood guitar, and propably that's gona be HB. I'm really worried about that "cardboard rumble" that some cheap guitar have. Especially no-solid guitars have this problem, but you can also hear that on some solid-top specimens. I don't know why, but CLA-15M sounds really good to me, it's astonishing, i hear no cardboard at all (on your video). Unfortunately the CLA-15MCE has this unpleasant tone that cheap guitars have. It's not bad, but i can definately hear it. Maybe different construction does that effect more noticeable.
Probably late to this party. Those fenders are alright but id buy this thing. I played fenders (dg11 14 and 22) for like twenty years and started buying everything in the 800 price range. This thing is a deal
I "love" your electric guitar, and amp, etc, review videos. You do a great job, and the info and your knowledge and experience is very, very helpful. Now to this "acoustic" review. For me, you are really killing your unbiased credibility here. If you don't "know" or "play" acoustic guitars, you have no business doing a review on them. Unless of course you're posting as many videos as possible for your own gain. I think you're a good guy, not a bad guy. I assume your motives are good. Maybe you want to help the young. But in this case, I think you are coming across very poorly. Both in motive - and in knowledge, which is well below the level of a casual acoustic hobbyist. Shine where you are meant to shine. Be a professional where you are a professional.
Thanks Dave, but I've recorded countless albums, many with acoustic parts... I have also recorded two full singer songwriter albums focusing on acoustic instruments. I think I am more than qualified to talk about the qualities of an acoustic instrument. I don't do a lot of advanced fingerpicking, but that is why I have a pro in that field sitting next to me. Which part of this video made you think that I am well below a casual hobbyist? I know how to play, record and mix acoustics and done so hundreds of times... that is not hobby... that is what a professional does.

That looked and sounded really decent! Great demo, thanks!
Did he drop the guitar at 5:50? Haha

What does the 15 mean in "15MCE"? The spruce version of this guitar is called "16SCE" where the S stands for spruce, but what is the number?
They don't use gaboon mahagony this time. How it's fact will affect to the sound? And it's looks much better than regular mahagony in my taste.
hi what is the second song that he palyed i love it and i would like to learn it yhanks
Has anyone been able to compare it with the taylor gs mini mahogany?
I had experience with both. Gs mini more comfortable to play, this one sounds better and is bigger (i have the all solid hb)
I have a 1947 Martin 00-17 which is basically the same shape and size and is also all mahogany. Yep, from the video they sound quite alike, I have to admit. Only mine's price is close to 4000 €. I think this baby is a hell of a finger-picking guitar and a bargain!!

My man had a very hard time hiding his disdain for the brand here!
Thanks for the review ... I want to ask which one should i buy this or HB CLA-15M
I have the same problem? Wich one did you buy?
I'd say "Hi there" or Yo-whaz-up" ... The guitar's tone sounds quite "congested" but my guess is it should "open" up nicely - into a warm-ish guitar that's perfect for crooners.
Sorry, probably a stupid question... but what's that "pick" thumb the guitar guy uses in the video?
It's called a... thumb pick
Perhaps that's the next guitar for me , merci beaucoup !

i have a review of that guitar
@@EytschPi42 Oh damn I need to find it. Thank you for the reply I really appreciate.
I bought both the CLA-000M 14 fret (auditorium) and the CLP-00M 12 fret (parlour). I bought the former so I could compare it to my similar Martin.
(continuing) I bought the 12 fret because I love 12 fret Slotted head guitars. Help me !! CLD 15 , CLA 28 or that one the CLA 15 !? I am lost ! 😅
Baton Rouge Guitars under 200€ are very good imo.
It it holds tuning I'm fine
If it sounds half way good I'm Ok
If the pre amp puts out a sound I'm fine
This guy is the funniest guitar reviewer! That's why I'm a subscriber!
What is the brand of guitar on the guitar stand in the background? Right next to the couch. It that a Yamaha guitar?
harley benton
I got a CLD (no piezo) after watching your "old" video about that line!
I don't understand why people put those sounddestructive fishmans on that guitar when sounds amazing.
Exist at same price a best options with no pre amp.
Pre amp on acoustic guitars it is to kill the natural sound of the body, 20 per cent less!
The 14 stands for 14 frets.

@@OW79 Am too!
000 is the body shape, 14 is the fret joint to the body ;) Eike such an awesome player

Good video!
I'm indecisive... This one, or the Fender CD-60SCE?
CD-60SCE everyone has that but this guitar has more uniqueness for the price
Probably late to this party. Those fenders are alright but id buy this thing. I played fenders (dg11 14 and 22) for like twenty years and started buying everything in the 800 price range. This thing is a deal
Sounds nice and deep.
