I loved this segment, it was my favorite part of the dvd and part of what made me a Craig Lieberman fan 👍🏽
I second that
Agreed! That segment is why I know who he is.
Same here
I still wanna know the story about the 3000GT Brian had in the prelude too 2fast
Same, I loved that GT
It was actually a Dodge stealth that came already modified as you see it, and was borrowed from the owner. He touched on this car talking about the video prelude in an older video already
@@3000GTpro same car
@@Drinstall I'm aware it's mostly the same car thanks
I STILL have a copy of this DVD. Watched it so many times in high school!
I remember this video on one of the DVDs. It’s been a while since I’ve seen it.
I'll admit, I've watched this DVD extra quite a few times back in the day....but never to watch the car come together.
Still have my tricked out edition! Also, so happy that it was an Evo and not an SRT4. 😅
That car looks way better than the one in 2 fast 2 furious. I would actually drive that one.
That dvd is how I discovered the saga. In Italy this version was called “hot edition” if I remember correctly (I’m Italian obviously)
I still have the DVD with that featuring, but on EU was on 2 fast 2 furious DVD, I was happy to see that because back in the days you can see just pick on some book but was hard to see someone build a car.
I even took a screen of that side and put as wallpaper of my PC
I remember Dalene from her days as host of Nopi Tunervision. She was great.
Good to know that this Evo is still around.
It’s cool that the car still exists. 👍👍
It's cool to know that the car is likely still around and still mostly as it was built. Im curious if the current owner modified it further and made more power.
Is nice to see that this car looks the same way and in really good shape nowadays, glad she finds a good owner
Pretty sure I saw this back in the day, but I always thought it was an episode of pimp my ride 😂😂
I got that dvd and was at the beach with my family for thanksgiving and watched the movie alone with the free I loved your segment on the show. The candy painting made me just have to have a candy close car. So I got a jsb corvette. I’m now a car and bike guy and this had a big part in that. And also why i freaked out when I saw your channel I watched the behind the scenes car build over and over as a kid 🤙
I loved watching the first movie as a kid (Yes I was a kid ROFL.). Had the 2nd movie on my PSP back in the day haha. And loved TD ha. This bridge between the movies is seems so small but it really is a really cool tie in to watch inbetween the first and 2nd movie.
I remember that video as I had the special, I also remember Ms. Curtis!
Hey Craig, I actually loved this segment and once in a while, I watch it on RUclips just for nostalgia sake! I remember being so excited when this DVD came out I went and I picked it up. I watched this segment and all the bonus features and it did exactly what it was meant to do. It got me pumped For the sequel and even came with the movie ticket!
i remember this, i had the DVD as a kid
Nice story Craig, you really inspire me to go back out in 85 F at 66% relative humidity and finish the rear brake cylinder replacement on my rattle can sunrise red '83 RX-7. I need 2 bug zapper lights, and a quart of permethrin for the bugs.
Because of this short mod video and my additions towards options dvd i had a 2003 evo 8 in high school i paid for by selling stuff
I remember getting the special edition dvd when i was younger and watching the evo segment and watching it multiple times and became obsessed with car customisation 😁. Loved watching this video and learning about the back story to the dvd evo segment 👍🏻
yyyyaaaasss ive literally been wanting a video on this special feature since I found your channel dude! thanks for being you staying honestly real and yeh. I get it. you don't wanna get demonetized but like damn you still throw shit my paps would say hahahahah!!! thank you. and I hope you're enjoying making the content :)
I still have the tricked out edition DVD.
I wanted that EVO so bad
rip Hugh Hefner. the world just hasn't been the same since.
I think you touched on this, but these videos still never get old.
I wish Mitsubishi would bring back the Evo!
Plus the 3000GT
All good things come to an end im glad they finished with dignity with the Evo X
Seing what they do these days, if the brand came back, it would be an SUV.
10:54 - Strategic air conditioning is good.
I remember using Hondada for the first time in 02 or 2003. I couldn't believe what you could control with it. Oh, how the times have changed.
I actually LOVED this segment. the acting was...... Ahem. But actually loved thIs segment.
I never saw that segment. Now I need to find it. 💪🙂👍
I really like that F&F bottle. My (1999) Eclipse is hooked with Nitrous Express but with the eyesore that is the default white bottle. The carbon fiber looking one is prohibitively expensive and the black one is always out of stock. Thought about sticker bombing it or looking for a chance to cerakote it by the guys who do my firearms. Anyone out there have any ideas, I'm open minded.
I actually remember watching this on my dad's copy of the DVD, when I was around 14, back in 2008. Cars are honestly cool when done right.
Yeah i remember that dvd edition lol we had the tricked out one as a kid. Thought it was pretty neat. Also had vhs movie i think. But yeah the model was fine, the clip was interesting and seeing a build. It was like a dialed down pimp my ride episode.
I remember that car I loved that movie
E3 Rest in peace. I think the reason why they were given this car away back in 2003. Is because they were coming out with Need for Speed Underground.
Another great video with great sarcasm. Thank you Craig
Glad you enjoyed it
I think I still have my tricked out edition somewhere in my drawer of OG Xbox games and some DVDs. I remember watching this as a 6 year old in late 03 or early 04 after I had seen 2Fast 2Furious.
Cracking video Craig, this is one my favourite segments too, good to. Get that extra insight
That was very cool! Love your videos man.
She was hot but Misa Campo was always my favorite import model.
I was waiting to hear ..."and a stand alone fuel management system..."😆🤣😆
Not a bad way to spend ten thousand dollars. 😂
The DVD also brought a free ticket to go see 2 Fast 2 Furious
Oh man, I remember this. It was a lot of fun to watch that car get modified.
Awesome! Never knew about this Evo and it looks great 👍🏼
Great video, as always you have such outstanding insider knowledge.
All hail the algorithm
I rewatched that evo build so many times as a kid, I want to make my cars have the same color!!
Amazing Video.....❤❤❤
I still have that DVD, I remember begging my dad as a kid to buy it for me at Walmart (I was about 8yo). Also have the 2 fast 2 furious one.
Awesome! I've been hoping you'd cover this Evo. I've requested it before. Still one of my favorite Evo's I've seen. I liked the graphics back then.
Can you explain the hate for the SRT 4 lol you been hating on that car for literally years.
He probably got outrun by one and has been hurt ever since.
They're quick little bastards whether they like to admit it or not.
Hey Craig, love your videos and that you did one on this evo! I used to love watching the bonus features on the DVDs for these movies when I was kid and I was very fond of this evo customization clip. Also, if you're still looking for topics for non F&F videos I'd love to hear you talk about Diablo's since you owned a couple of them.
Great video!
I think you should make a movie Craig back to the street racing and do everything right
I remember this segement on the DVD! I remember watching the Extra and all before the movie so when the movie ended I was kinda disappointed that it wasn't in it!
That was a great dvd!
This car occasionally makes an appearance at my local Cars and Coffee near Baltimore.
I have this DVD also.
I've always wondered what happened to that evo, i had the original movie in DVD with all the extras and it was a lot of fun watching it back then
I had this dvd
I got this one... from early 2003.
Damn I totally forgot about this Evo
I have this DVD. It was hilarious
I own this DVD BTW. The prelude was AWESOME!
I have that dvd.
Yes I have that DVD or at least I did
dope ass video i was just thinking about this the other day i remember i bought that dvd but didnt know what it was i thought it was just the movie but i seen this n was amazed as a lil kid i lost that dvd though ☹️ i always wondered what happened to that car i always liked it lucky dude whoever has it its going to b worth millions 1 day
Yeah I woulda kept it stock lol ik this was a different time but Best motoring and Hot Version had the same cars around the same time and kept them primarily stock. They didn’t rice them out and weigh them down with ridiculous speakers in the truck 😂
I have the dvd with it
I had that DVD for the longest time. It's funny how things just disappear from your life over the years. I remember this segment. I miss the 2000s and the studios doing things like this. It feels so corporate and impersonal now.
Holy hell i forgot i had that playboy at one point LMAO
the tricked out edition made me get a Evo X which is also Silver.
Good vid
❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
I have this DVD but I guess I didn't dig that deep I don't remember this, I'll have to go back and check it out
Even though he did a video on this 4 years ago and this one is 2 minutes longer, still good content!
he's gonna run out of content at some point .
Nah, we'd still watch to catch up with Craig, he's a fun guy
Such a beauty, wow. The car turned out nice as well, aha.
SRT4. 🙂So, this comes up periodically, how you love to loathe the car.
Can we have a little check list of things you feel are wrong with it?
Power & handling are there..as good as any typical fwd sedan at the $20-25k price
range at that time. Interior: ok, not Mercedes lvl..but what econo-sports car had a rly
great int? The cars for F&F always have custom int done. So..idk, I'm at a loss,
which leads me to my query: Please do expound your views on this beleguered car.
Thanks always for your vids..the Paul Walker video recently..just out of sight well done.
At the end of the day a neon srt4 is a neon. An evo however is very different from a lancer es or even an oz rally or the ralliarts of that time (newer ralliarts greatly improved)
@@TheIamdevin ..all due respect to those fine cars: oh, lesse..Neon was 130ish hp. 2.0L na engine. 0-60mph in 7 flat. SRT4 had a 2.4L 275hp turbo engine. 0-60 is 5.6 sec, dang good for 20 yrs ago. Neon had adequate (and then some) brakes/suspension..SRT4 had much upgraded stuff, there as well. & no muffler stock..nice, rumbly notes. 17" alloys/hp tires. It wasn't 'just a Neon'..not that that was a bad thing, Neon having done very well in Showroom Stock Class C racing vs 240sx, Miata & others, as well as being a fine daily. ..i know a guy with a 700hp SRT4..runs insane numbers at the 1/2 mile strip, the No Fly Zone, in Illinois.
@@gzuzsavz yea and theres 1000+ hp evo's just about anywhere on youtube. Watch the video this evo struggled to hit 300hp with 93,back in the day power numbers were nowhere near what they are now. At the end of the day would you rather a movie hero drive a evo or a neon? I think im confident in assuming 99% of peoples choice there lol
@@gzuzsavz also the neon had a 2.4 liter engine that produced 215hp at the crank according to multiple sources online. Whereas the evo 7 produced 276hp
You have to understand, these are his thoughts "from back in the day". He clearly goes over this in the video that talks about why the R34 was the hero car for 2F2F. Neon was new, untested, and from a company that "at the time" was known for trucks, minivans, commuter cars and didn't have anything exciting except the Viper. It had yet to prove it's worth, which he recognizes later that it did but, it was a risk at the time not worth taking.
@2G Mitsubishi Eclipse and car scene
😎
Hot Wheels needs to make the ORIGINAL red evo. But there's still so many they haven't made.
I know you're not a movie review channel but can you take a look at old Japanese street racing movie called Shuto Kousoku Trial? It has 6 series but you can watch it on youtube. I called it the father of the F&F franchise
thought evos were on 93 from factory?? and where do they sell 93 in cali i thought all yall got out there is 91 at the pumps
Certain select gas stations have it. Even some have racing fuel.
Yes, it’s true! Evos were tuned to become 93 from the factory but Cali where he’s from there was only 91 he was first tuning the evo on 91 then changed it to 93! I think he said it, any car can be on 91/93 oct it just makes your fuel economy worse cuz theres engine detentions hence why ppl go to e85 when they hit 600hp or more in a evo cuz 93 produces lots of detentions in the cylinders!! Not saying your wrong on this but like the other guy who replied to your comment he’s actually right tho there is 93 in cali just go to a shell(now Mobil), Exxon or Texaco idk I’m not from Cali I’m from Florida but ive only been to Cali for my line of work!
Coolio
So what was the deal with the playmate. You forgot mention that.
Not at all. This is yet *another* rehash of his older videos. He did a video on this _and_ her a few years ago. The video is not available at the time of this comment, but he did mention she was not just eye candy (though it always helps) and is a very intelligent and successful person. Women are integrated into car build videos just like booth babes are hired to promote garbage at public venues which wouldn't sell much at all without them.
Yo Craig bruv
Your very awesome & a funny guy too bro
Your hilarious but also awesome at the sametime bro
Shout out to u man
Forza GTA & NFS style
Okay, add quibleys to list of potential CA bodyshops.. how long did rhey take with the body kit?
Bodykit? That's the standard body though. They only repainted the car.
it w as less than 5 weeks all done.
Can you make a similar video for the Need For Speed Underground Skyline?
@@ExitStrategy1609because he had worked on the franchise and that's what many people like to watch from him. Better to talk about things he knows best than things he doesn't and spread misinformation.
He has done a video on the need for speed underground GTR-34 skyline as he was involved with that build also.
Craig might be very cocky, but it's really nice to hear from someone who's actually KNOWS things
How is he cocky, if I may ask?
cocky? Have you ever met me in person? I'm Cocky? Watch Daily driven Exotics.
The car was cool, the chick was annoying….but that’s just me
Sorry Craig but the graphics on the car look awful imo 😅
Hope you got some side action ;).
I graduated the year she was the playmate of the year, let's just say.... I was a big fan. Man those were the days, back when only women were in Playboy 🤣🤣🤣
280whp? All those mods. They didn’t tune it at all ? Or just were taking it easy
Taking it easy... As the engine was not broken in
Hold on.. hold on.. All those mods and that Evo only made 280whp (280 horsepower at the wheels)??? So.. are Evo's just really trash? I've never owned one
Did you watch it? He said those mods would have pushed up and over 400, but the car only had 39miles on it.
Nobody in their right mind will max tune a car that engine is brand new, there’s break in procedures.
Start over at the beginning and turn on subtitles you clearly can’t hear correctly
@@IfflaMedia awe you got little fighting words in your reply 🤣
Sorry buddy not my fault evos suck. And yeah you can push a brand new engine, people do it all the time, unless of course it’s… JUNK 🤣🤣
This car don’t look good 👎🏼
Why don't you build a real car?I want you to do a nineteen sixty nine pontiac G.T.O
Most likely because they handle like a boat nice looking car don't get me wrong but they handle like shit
@@jamieeedden777 who cares about handling on a 60s muscle car?
@@leon2678 about 90%if not more of drivers who wants to drive a car that's going to put them in a hedge I'd rather walk
@@leon2678 I wasn't trying to piss any one of by saying that but it really is true . America do make alot of very good cars I lived in the us 6 months and have been in and out of the us sence I was young but when I drove a gto I just hated it im more of a Volvo fan over all had at least ten Volvo's mostly modified as the redblock engine can take some serious power one of the Volvo's I had would eat super bikes evos and gto.s for breakfast
Thats a real car? 😂 what makes the Evo a fake car? In my opinion, Muscle cars appeal more to boomers and rappers. JDM cars just have more flavor to them. Plus, they can be set up for the circuit or drag. Muscle cars in general are just good for straight lines. Just straight line power.
Why the heck did you guys pick a purple eclipse convertible and yellow evo for 2F2F?! Worst choice of main character cars in film history.
eclipse and mods were requested by Tyreese himself, the evo was some cancelled Aussie race thing? There were multiple yellow evos iirc.
dodge was a major part of fnf at the time and they owned Mitsubishi
that's from what I know and I believe I gathered from Craig's and Racing Joker's videos
I have that dvd.
