Chris is definitely without a doubt my top 5 favorite jazz guitarists to listen to. I love when a player can make music sound so fascinating without drums or bass or a piano, just incorporating it all into the guitar. People that can play solo and make it sound so full, it’s just mesmerizing, always makes me want to pick up my guitar, always inspiring. Thanks Chris!
Instantly gratifying to my ears Chris, so smooth and clear toned. A pleasure to listen to. It's ironic a duplicate of that statue behind you sits right here above my computer monitor making this view even more pleasurable. You certainly are a fine Jazz guitarist, I need to tell you that. Wish I had taken music more seriously in my youth but I can still enjoy watching great talents perform; THank you!
I love when you take up the Ibanez. I think its unique sound fits so nicely with your technique. I've tried using one and it never suited me, but I have a hammer for a set of fingers and always could never quite get a great sound on one. You Sir, make that synthesis of wood metal and mother of pearl SING, and have dimension to it: Depth and all. Wonderful video and a fun take on a classic.
Hi Chris! Very Nice. Two questions. First what is the model of that guitar? The other one, how can I approach improvising after playing this chord melody? Playing melodies and some chords or playing melodies at the same time I play the chords? Like another chord melody? Thank you
Thanks Telmo! The guitar is an Ibanez AF200. This model was discontinued and replaced with the AF2000. Here is a link to it: amzn.to/3X75P2G You can approach the improv as as another chord melody style approach or with more unsupported single lines, or a combination of both. I would listen to Joe Pass for some inspiration :)
Thanks Roger. It is an Ibanez AF200 prestige. =They discontinued it a few years ago and it has been replaced with the Ibanez AF2000. Here is a link: amzn.to/3X75P2G

New guitar? Don't think I've seen this before.
Thanks Fred! It's actually a guitar I have had for about 10 years. Used it on some of my earliest videos.

Methiks the author of "SleepWalk" owes a bit to the composer of this tune.
