@maxnezok nylon are cheap and come with microphones and setups often times. Metal filters are like $40 or so and I never felt like buying one. But I got one for my trip to Rome this summer, and I noticed the difference. But in all honesty, microphone technique matters more than your pop filter. I turn my head slightly on p's and s's to prevent plosions.
@@nastasiamarquez6472 what i don't like and you can check that in the metal filters when the air hits the metal when you pronounce the “p” you can hear a high pitched crackling noise that is the noise that causes the air to hit the metal. i would love you to make a video testing this and compare it with the nylon! you can buy the nylon “shure popper stopper” THE BEST OF ALL AND USED BY THE MOST RECOGNIZED ARTISTS !
Hello Nastasia! Great comparison video and well edited btw. Also just want to let you know that your Amazon link isn't working at the time of this post. Thanks for sharing! 🙂👍🏽
You like my editing! Thank you, my editor is out of town, so I'm starting to learn some of the basics. ☺ here is an updated link for amazon. www.amazon.com/shop/nastasiamarquez?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsfshop_EEZ9JB29PB34G7CY49Q2 This one should work. Which mic did you prefer the sound on?
@jaredsher5150 technically yes you could, if you had an interface that accepted 2 mics, and had your DAW setup for it. But ultimately, I don't think it would be efficient. Because you need to direct your sound to the mic your intending to use, so I would anticipate issues and after a few recordings, you would settle on your preference anyways.
Thanks for doing this as I was thinking of saving for a Sennheiser. Most reviews of the Sennheiser are done by men with their man voices (lol) so it's nice to hear a woman's voice. I didn't like the sound quality that much, sad to say. The AKG was better. Now I have to rethink everything.
@@Laura_DiNunno i agree, I think lenny would be more than happy to make my tone sound more buttery and full if I asked him to in the senn. But the freedom of movement with the akg really makes a huge difference. I can't imagine trying to stay perfectly still in front of the sennheiser mic for all of my work.
i know a Female VO in my Country who worck only with 416 and sounds GREAT, here, this girl have a Nasal and Dirty S for this reason have problems with mics of sound in your face like the 416 and sure be the same with Neumann`s Mic`s.
You have a voice that is too sibilant for either of the 2 microphones, I would be more concerned about learning to use a D-esser with that voice register, the SSS were extremely aggressive during the video and I could not finish watching it, unfortunately, a long recording with That record would be torture, I suggest you look at a Sm7b type microphone for a voice like yours and the way you pronounce the S.
Thanks for sharing such a great demo and discussion of these two mics. Keep up the great work.
@@Podcastage thanks!
Great video! BTW What audio interface do you use?
Love the review. Really hoping to try the Sennheiser someday. Great video 😁👍.
@twosense7723 thanks! Yea it's a pretty cool mic, if I get more into creating projects in other environments I'll be very excited that I have it.
Thanks for this! I’ve been wanting the 416. I’m pretty new to voiceover, and I’m using the Rode NT1 fifth generation.
@@churchhymnsandpsalms nice! How do you like the akg?
Is this the XLS or the XLii from AKG?
7:07 WHY DO YOU NO LONGER USE THE NYLON POP FILTER AND NOW USE THE METAL POP FILTER?

Could you possibly record with both at the same time? Or no advantage?
