We have even seen right wing press change their tune on something they stoked as they realise even a majority of their readers are nowhere near the political position they want them to be.
The problem is you have negative ideology in the quran. And you will always have that. Muhammed discriminated other people and that is racism according to the left and also to Muslims. So they see that their ideology is wrong but they just did not made the connection that their religion and their political party has exactly that what they are criticizing on the "far right". To reject Islam is a necessity if you are against racism, because this discrimination is racism according to them.

I have a VERY low bar for Europeans as a race because I think there needs to be some internal conversations about why there has always been such comfort with being hyper aggression and committment to mass harm both internally and externally, but honestly the push back I am seeing from Europeans says there have definitely been lessons learned. Seeing the responses to 🇵🇸 and now these riots and several other things im seeing irl and online, seems to me to act as proof that there is an intent to do better on behalf of humanity. Europe have broken every single social contract with the rest of the world, and Idk if it's old versus young or what it is, but I have more hope in Europeans wanting to be better than I have in around 20 years of activism because of what I am seeing and hearing. 80 percent of the UK news media is owned by 5 Tory donors. The BBC used to be the last bastion of impartiality... Until Cameron got rid of the charter, and the independent trust that enforced it and ensured impartiality. He then replaced that trust with a corporate style board, which had members who were handpicked by Tory MPs. All this is why the Tories could blame austerity on anyone but themselves and get away with it.

We were the bus drivers, factory workers, nurses, midwifes, train drivers. My farther was a builder/carpenter a subcontractor and helped build the homes, and schools that some of these knuckle draggers went to. Growing up the racism, abuse we faced and words that were being used was disgusting but normalised! and yet we carried on with our lives. Integrated ourselves into society (with a bit of Caribbean flavour of course), went church on a Sunday, paid our taxes, schooled our kids in the ways of the "mother country" with Caribbean discipline and respect. Every single one of us from back then are walking around with ptsd, from what we experienced every day..but its made us tough and wise to this foolishness. What the media and politicians have done in these last 5/6 years leading up to this, is nothing new. Since I was a kid whenever the economy was tanking and things where hard, or government got caught filling their pockets with public money or doing dodgy deals, the finger was always pointed at us and anyone else who looks or sounds different! year after year, decade after decade the same old song. It's happening here, in Ireland, too. And not just up in Belfast at the moment. Last year, a madman stabbed some children in Dublin, and barely an hour later, racist/right-wing thugs were causing chaos in the city centre. They had used this awful event to suit their agenda. In a Dublin suburb recently (where I'm originally from) local troublemakers have tried to destroy a space for refugee families. The irony of Irish folk getting railed up about folk coming into this country to flee war, etc, when most of our population were forced to disperse to other countries, during the Famine...and we were not always welcomed either.
I agree with you. The Dublin riots last year were absolutely insane! "Yeah but that was them looking for a better life" and "they had no choice". Just like in 2008-2014 when everyone left for Australia, Canada and the Middle East. When the boot is on the other foot, it's OK. I think British people try to escape this labelling by calling their emigrants "ex-pats" - so they're not "immigrants" where they move to. Ireland right now is scarily close to what I saw growing up in the UK (British immigrant to Ireland here - hi!) - the uprising of far-right "nationalist" parties (I know of 3 parties, with an extra 5 independents who were campaigning in local elections in Co Galway), a general hatred for migrant workers who aren't white and speak English as a first language (despite insisting that Irish isn't a dead language, barely 5% use it on a daily basis) and the utter laziness/snobby attitudes when it comes to unskilled labour. Choose one of the other ffs! I find both the UK and Ireland's attitudes ridiculous tbh. The UK complains about the "invasion" like they didn't invade I mean "build the British Empire" in more nefarious ways, and the Irish being able to claim over 300m having Irish genes that we know of. There are anti racism marches that far outway the rioters. It gives you hope. I still think British people massively value freedom as do the USA people and European people. There are more people who believe in peace and freedom than the people who believe in rioting and hatred.
I wish UK teachers would show this video to their pupils.
It sums up the state of affairs perfectly.

the murder was actually born in cardiff, however it’s such a diverse city with a high population of (self identifying) muslims we haven’t had a single riot. they have 5x more then belfast, yet we’ve only had a counter protest. i’m so disappointed in this country
I'm from Southend in Essex, one of the targeted spots for further "protests", and I'm incredibly pleased and proud to say that hundreds of decent locals turned out to completely outnumber the fash. As a result, jothing happened, no muslims or ethnic minorities were assaulted, and none of our local businesses or community hubs were destroyed.
I woke up today feeling just a bit better about the state of our country
Been patiently waiting to hear your take. Islamophobia has definitely been normalised in society. It’s one of the few forms of bigotry that passes the dinner party test.
Thank you for covering this situation, I like your reporting.
I was born in 71 to black Caribbean parents who along with many others from the Caribbean and Commonwealth countries were asked/encourage to come to the UK to help rebuiled the country after the war.
The lazy racists thugs love it, because now they have an excuse for their lives being crsp, with the government rubber stamp on it.
Totally agree and thank you for sharing your story ❤️
Black American here. I’m sorry I never believed folks like you when you were telling the truth! Before Brexit I refused to believe that happened now I’m getting a close up look at what yall were saying all along and I was wrong
England has. Wales is not rioting. We were colonised by England. England literally beat the Welsh language out of Welsh children and used the Welsh Not (look it up). This is England. Not Cymru. It's great to see more people bringing up England's entitled colonial history. I'd put 100 quid on these rioters not understanding that history.
"I will show my great western tolerance by being intolerant"
Using the tern Nazi is a Joke!
The hardest solidarity to find in 2024 is economic solidarity
Don't forget about the massive counter protests that smash the riots in terms of numbers
Ehhh that didn't happen though. Only a few people got out to counterprotest by contrast. The vast majority of brits are actually onboard with their gov't, sad to say
@@TheEnmineer I have photos and videos from a huge counter protest in Birmingham with hundreds of people in attendance holding a huge "Birmingham stand up to racism" banner, several "refugees welcome here", "oppose Tommy Robinson" "don't let the racists divide us". For anyone seeing this, know that at least in Birmingham the counter protest was huge, and I know it was big in other places too.
@@i_camioneta1697 It's a shame that despite how many people showed up in Birmingham the vast majority of the brits disagree. I really wish it were different, but it just ain't so
I haven't heard Braverman say anything about these actual "Hate Marches"! Odd that.
Sending support from France.
I heard about those fascists riots and it's good to hear an interesting analysis about it from someone living in the UK.
But at the same time it's really scary to see how many western country are heading straight up to fascism, for Britain with your politics, France with ours, USA and also Germany I heard was in a pretty bad spot and that's without even talking about country that are already Into it like Italia, Poland or Hungary.
Guess we shouldn't have centralized so much power in our governance.
And you're all worried about some Muslims? Grow up!
This video makes my brain lose iq by 1000

I still remember Carl Benjamin having a debate with two or three leftists many years ago. Other than the usual yarn about him being a "classical liberal", when he got confronted about Muslim rape gangs and was told that the majority of them were actually the reault of white Englishmen, he got livid and tried to paint his opposition as uncaring villains. Why do I bring this up? Because good ol' Sargon of Akkad is having fun showing support to the riots with literal Neo-Nazis like Colin Flaherty, Tommy Robinson, and Ryan Faulk.
The majority of Muslim rape gangs were actually the result of white English men. Please explain.
I'm happy to say I voted Green this election, despite how seemingly fruitless that is, it felt good to actually stand by what I believe in

Desperation births extremism. People don't buy into these kinds of whacked out ideologies if they're thriving and their lives are going well overall.

As someone who has studied Scottish independence as of late, leaving now, would be economical suicide. As shit as southern England is, we'll be unfortunately stuck with them for a very long time.
Some of the worst of these riots has also been in NI, including arson on a building supposedly earmarked for refugees. Its not just England

We need solidarity now more than ever.
There's a similar thing happening in Germany, without the mass riots (for now). Even my mom, who is generally a kind, empathetic person who wants everyone to feel safe, accepted and included talked to me the other day about this guy trying to get a rise out of people and she said she was 'afraid of having to convert to Islam' and didn't wanna 'live under sharia law'. I explained to her that this isn't gonna happen and how those fears are created precisely to stoke a panic and dehumanize people, and while I feel like she understood, she's still consuming all kinds of media that I'd rather she wouldn't because it's obvious that it's having an effect on her. Scary times and it makes me wanna interact with people in general even less than I already do...
I'm not British, but this seems kind of odd, to be honest. At least the US has a massive border with other countries. How does this immigration hysteria shit even work on an island nation? 😅
Britain is barely an island, people swim across the channel for sport
Northern Europe is very close - you can drive from England to France or get the train
@TheKavernacle I see. I'm not going to pretend I have extensive knowledge of British immigration and the means used to get there illegally, lol. Just my ignorant assumptions. Its crazy that the rhetoric is so close to what's used here that if you removed names of locations, you wouldn't be able to tell if they were talking about the US or not. These people are crazy. 😂
The elites want to set up a caste system in Western Europe and the leftists are either co-signing that or too cretinous to know what is actually happening

Thanks for the video, that cannot have been easy to make with the sort of calm you display.

Its not just the UK. The collective west is on a downward trajectory as a direct consequence of neoliberal policys. Its very scary.
I love the crying about two tier policing against the far right, when they face any consequences. The irony is galactic. The problem is never someone with less power than you. I'm in Canada and this toxic infection is present as well.
The real insulting part is; despite how omnipresent immigration panic is in media and the political discorse, some of the participants constantly tries to frame this fear mongering as something "brave, honest, sincere and rare(!)", and adding characteristics like "common sense". Some of them will even go disturbingly narcissistic by claiming "I'm not afraid to speak my mind about immigration. That's right, I'm a badass who's not afraid of cancelculturing".
