- Energy and beauty unite in this dazzling opener. Inspired by the Florida Everglades, often thought of as a slow-moving river of grass, the piece begins with a fast-paced tempo inspired by a ride in an airboat, gliding over the sawgrass through the marshes and pine flatwoods. As evening descends, the music depicts nighttime in the glades, with a sense of solitude and unease knowing you are surrounded by many unseen creatures. The piece ends with a seaplane ride from Lake Okeechobee to the coastal waters, soaring over the sparkling skyline and glittering beaches. A fine selection for your next festival or concert performance!
I always loved Robert Sheldon, I played his Bellefonte Overture this march concert and it was really good, this piece is so calming and nice and it gets faster and louder too! I really like it.
