• Prairie Hunting: Boots...
We have sorta done the same, Faith and I compared cost of hotel rooms, air b&b or other rental options and found that we save a significant amount pulling and staying in our camper. We do hunt a lot of private property and are lucky that these farmers will let you setup on there property. This year we have water and electric hookup. We do burn nearly twice the fuel coming out west but it still doesn't touch the expense of getting a room on the way out and back home, while also renting a place for a week. We can walk out the camper and start hunting and never get in the truck or have a short drive to other properties. Where in past years we would have a 30 to 45 min drive every morning and evening to and from the hunting grounds and sometimes twice that if the weather ran us out the field. There is an advantage to being mobile but it does create more effort in preparing ones self to be completely stocked. For a week or more. Great vid, we leave tomorrow for our trip and will be gone for an undetermined amount of time. We plan to let the weather and birds tell us when it's time to come home this year.
Good luck on the trip! Theres nothing like waking up and just walking out in the field to go hunt!
