Effortlessly brilliant. She shoulda been massive.

The reason this world is like this is because bands like this are 'overlooked'.

Great to see Marvin Etzioni on bass, Don Heffington on drums and Gary Louris on guitar. What a band backing Maria!

She was in Ireland with that Luka Bloom fella way back then. Another way under-rated talent!

Thank you for this video with so much quality. I'm a big fan of Maria. And i think you should know that the complete name of the song is "Why Wasn't I More Grateful (When Life Was Sweet)"

Marcelo Ferrari I'm most pleased that you enjoy the quality of the clips, and that you are helping with the song titles that I don't know, from time to time. Thank you!

    hey wfa,
great to see this is still up, your whole collection is amazing, I'll have to dig in more
i know i asked you this last year here or in a pm, but did you ever come across Maria's performance of "To the Open Spaces" on the following episode of Jay Leno's Tonight Show?
    Season 11, Episode 130
    April 15, 2003
The Tonight Show With Jay Leno
Dustin Hoffman; Chris Matthews. Music guest: Maria McKee.
still can't believe this is nowhere to be found on the web..do you have any other connections that might have it?...you have no idea how far deep I've gone looking for it :)
secondly, there's supposedly an even more bonkers version of Lone Justice's "I Found Love" on some late night British talk show than some of the ones up here already, would love to see that too

Sorry to say that I haven't turned up either performance you are looking for. I am about 3/4 through my collection, so there is a slight chance that one or the other may turn up, but it is looking less and less likely, since I cannot remember recording either of the 2 appearances you mentioned. I have no recommendations for seeing them elsewhere, for the moment, I'm afraid. Glad you are happy with the clips on the channel, though ;)

cool, this is back, with the interview portion with Jay...somebody had it up here for a while, then it left...thanks....and yes, as Marcelo said, better a&v than the other versions of this that have been here.
and, if you don't mind, I noticed some folks (not me) did some good cleaning on the Ritz 85 show around the same time you did this..here's that ruclips.net/video/nyBrkC3TlC4/видео.html

betpow Glad you like the clip, and thanks for the note of appreciation, concerning the audio & video.... I'm not sure I have the other performances you mentioned, but will be posting the Night Music appearances soon [if the powers that be don't block them].

Who were the backing singers, particularly the tall one with long black hair? I think I've seen her as a lead singer somewhere.

Susan Otten is the taller of the two backing singers. Tammy Rogers was the shorter one.
