Amazing how many are infatuated with the taste of the meal without a shred of consideration about the creature. Mind you, I love red, dark, white meat, crustaceans and fish. Very simple and efficient way to deaden its sensation while cutting it up properly: Plunge a knife straight down into the carapace (part of exoskeleton on the lobster's back). Place the tip of a sharp chef's knife behind the lobster's eyes, right below where the claws meet the body and halfway to the first joint. Swiftly plunge the knife down through the head. The legs will continue to move a bit afterward but the lobster is in fact dead.
Line cooks are paid min wage they will be fired if they can't keep up with volume. The knife to the head slows them down. I get your probably privileged considering you have the time to worry about a lobster...

Ugh the Chinese don’t seem to know how to prepare seafood… I live in Japan but we hit the lobster head first with the back of the knife to knock it out. We don’t cut into it when it’s fully moving like that, they would not taste as good. We say the fear the animal feels would spoil the animals taste. Cruel to watch too.
Yeah, there's that, and I don't know how anyone can stand to do all that delicate work with a single chinese chef knife. A friend of mine bought a high dollar one a few months ago. I tried using it one night while cooking dinner at his house, because I didn't bring my knife set. It felt as if I was going to slip and cut myself while prepping the vegetables. They are very forward heavy and sort of clunky feeling. I'm more accustom to the French and Japanese style kitchen knives. They are much more refined, and they have different designs, with each one better suited for a different job in the kitchen.
I wish they would knock out or dispatch the poor things before literally ripping their bodies in half. I believe it's completely fine to eat meat, but it needs to be done in an ethical and respectful way to the animal.
I agree. There should be a way to severe the central nervous system which allows live preparation without apparently torturing the creature. Takes a minimal amount of input from a marine biologist.
Спасибо конечно за видео, но тут я убедился что нервная система у подобных животных есть, а значит и боль они чувствуют, а то говорили и писали что не чувствуют, а тогда что это за конвульсии ?
That's only true If their so called neo cortex is quickly severd, and fast and quick, and not if half their bodies are torn apart. Watch how to humanely dispatch a lobster and I don't mean by boiling. God help humanity.

Sir...i agree with ur feelings...we can have self control or policy for ourself but we can't teach others...a poor person in a desert will eat anything he would get...but yes ...eating for luxury is different...
As much as I love lobster and think this dish looks absolutely delicious, it makes me wonder how many customers would actually order it if they were invited back to the kitchen to see how it’s prepared. A lot of people don’t have the stomach to prep a fish for eating.
Depends who you ask I guess. If you are Asian we probably wouldn't care cause we grew up seeing all these stuff. If you are asking a typical American who shops at markets where everything is prepared to look clean and good then that's another story. If you ask someone down in the rural areas they probably good too cause they are used to livestocks and stuff. Really depends on how you grew up.
@@andylui3333 Not really. Most farmers are concerned about the treatment their animals receive when being slaughtered. It also preserves the flavour of the meat.
So why did the second one have red/orange goopy-goops in it when the tail was separated, but the first one didn't? It also had bigger belly flappy-flaps. Is it a different breed of lobster, or was it possibly just a female and the red/orange slither bits were an egg sac of some kind?
