Yeah, I’d much rather save hagrids for the last ride of the night. Not only because the 2 hours you might have to wait won’t affect the rest of your day, but also the coaster is simpler better at night. I always save the longest wait time ride til the last ride at pretty much any park, just because you can get in line close to closing and not have the long wait affect your other stuff for the day.
I’d be so nervous that the ride would break down! But, I’m going in a few weeks and won’t have early entry. So, this may end up being my strategy anyway 🤔

We did a one day trip our first time several years ago and it was insane! Doable but insane! We spend no less than three days when we go now, although I could stay forever and be perfectly happy 🤗 Hope to see you guys there next week!

We have a very similar approach to the parks and it definitely works if it’s not too busy. We did the same route of Islands on Tuesday (minus the water ride) and we were through Islands and out in city walk for lunch by 11:30am! Our studios route is a little different. We also use single rider as much as possible which helps.
Single rider can save you so much time if you don’t have express! You really can’t get a lot done in one day if you just have a plan and don’t mess around. That’s an impressive amount of rides before noon!
I plan of on going when I land and then a couple days later. Great way to get things done. You must do a print out of these things. It helps when some of us dormant to take notes when watching.

We did the VIP Tour for $250 per person. we got a guided tour from 10am-5:30 pm, skipped all the lines we wanted (INCLUDING Velocicoaster & Hagrids). When i say skip the line, not just express but literally walk up the exit with your guide and get on. THEN you get a unlimited express pass to use after or before your tour starts as well The best value overall, plus you get backstage tours and more insider info like how rides work Felt very privileged doing it and would do it again.

Yes. You hit all the best rides. Good idea about scheduling. And I thought the rule was “at least one Butterbeer per hour”. No? !! Great information and always fun.
On the rare day the parks are not slammed its possible but the parks are getting busier all the time. We find it much more enjoyable to plan more than 1 day per park when possible. If it isn't possible to plan more than 1 day per park, express pass or just enjoy what you are able to do. Either way, when we are at Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure... life is good.
Yeah anymore we aren’t sure you could do all the rides and shows in one day. Better to just plan for multiple visits and not run yourself to death in our opinion!
Hi Anna & Tyler! That is quite the itinerary for the day and by the end of I hope you do not have a 6AM flight home the next morning! 😂. I can see a solo or two determined people being able to do this, but once the group size gets to 3, it will become harder and harder as the group gets larger. As a group can only move as fast as the slowest person in the group and that person usually changes through the day. I had a trip in 2018, where my brother and his family (group of 11) were staying at Disney and wanted to do Universal one day, figuring that they could do everything in a day. Luckily I was not staying with them, but did agree to spend the day at Universal with them. They didn’t get to site unlit 9am and we headed straight to Diagon Alley, we didn’t get out of Diagon Alley until after 12. They all wanted to buy wands and then play with them and it was the most frustrating visit I ever had to Universal, all it seemed like I was doing was waiting. If you want to get a lot done, small groups are better, unless you are on a VIP Tour and have immediate access to everything. 😊. Ken

Man, I was there on opening day for Hagrid’s Magical Creature Motorbike Adventure, the whole line was packed; we were in line for two in a half to three hours, and therefore, I know what it’s like.
On March 5th the posted wait for hagrids was 65 minutes and we waited 27! Way over estimated! I know that’s a rarity but I was able to get in 3 Hagrid rides that day :-)
No, we need to do that! We just got moved down here, so hopefully soon!! We just have to find a full day that we can commit to filming. Plus the dogs make it a little harder :(
You guys... we went to universal this past week and visited both parks over a couple of days. When we were in universal studios I insisted on Fast & Furious just to see if Tylers claims were true since we had never ridden it before. and OH BOY 🤣

Love the videos! Just a heads up hogwarts express has 2 trains. When the trains leave, they switch sides. So the train doesn't have to pick up then drop off then pick people up then only come back.

Hi Alicia, thank you so much! We're so glad our videos have been helpful! We don't think express is necessary at all, we would just suggest going to Universal Studios first thing in the morning. Then, you can make your way over to Islands later in the day. Express is always nice to have, but it's definitely not a necessity!

Hi, A very helpful video. Just a question, if we are going for one day, what do you suggest.. A backpack or Fanny pack? Considering there are water rides and avoiding locker wait times. This would be our first visit. Thanks in advance!!
If you have stuff that you definitely need, we would suggest maybe taking a backpack and getting an all day locket upfront if you don’t want to deal with the free lockers!
This is the path I use except I'll ride Hagrids and Velocicoaster twice. Granted I go during HHN so I don't worry about going over to Universal before HHN starts.

You need wayyyyy more trips to the hopping pot, obviously! I like this Itinerary, but I'd trade Hulk for Suess Trolley and River Adventure For Bluto's. I'm uncomfortably addicted to Bluto's!!!!! Not only do I love getting soaked on this ride, but I LOOOOVVVEEEE watching others getting drenched, their reactions are epically hilarious!!!

@@jaimeerindy4573 It wasn’t virtual for this entire trip, but who knows. That could change at any time! Lol it depends how early you get there, too. If you’re really close to the front of the gates, we would suggest Hagrid’s. But don’t wait over 120 minutes for it first thing in the morning!
Lots of great ideas sadly this will be our first time and most of the rides my kids cant ride or wouldnt want to so we will be skipping most. my one son will have a disable pass so hopefully that will help with the rides we want to go on Hagrids with him and my oldest while my husband waits with our younger kids. we have early admission letsd see if i can do it all in one day lol

Pretty much on the nose to what we've been doing. Skipping The Simpsons is smart to save time because that line moves pretty slow but, if you have the time, I recommend that ride even if you don't like the cartoon. And I'd strongly recommend the jimmy Fallon ride. Mine is always short and since The Mummy is down, jimmy is right next to it.
Sounds like a good plan for a one day trip! Gotta say, though, that I don't advocate for people getting butterbeers and then joining others in line. Line cutting is one of my biggest pet peeves and has actually made the parks a little less enjoyable at times in recent trips. We had so many people cut us in line for Hagrid's last time, they could have filled a whole train. If the ride had shut down right before I was supposed to get on after waiting 90 minutes in line... yikes.
We were more talking about about when you are pre queueing for Hagrids first thing in the morning! That’s why we said it wouldn’t really work at Forbidden journey! We have had a couple people mention this and after rewatching it, we can see the confusion so that’s our fault.
Can you do both universal studios and islands of adventure in one or more days ? Well With the express passes. also universal should have a hotel that looks like Jurassic world or park
My modifications: Add Dr Doom's in. Line is usually short, and it's a great ride. I would skip Hulk if necessary to ride it, no joke! Lunch: Confisco's Loaded Nachos! Later, go to Bourne Stuntacular after E.T., skip Transformers. Squeeze in Horror Make-Up Show if possible. If I do slunch, it's going to be jacket potatoes, but crepes would be my second choice!
It's certainly possible but it's what I would call a death march... You better have express passes for sure... Done it several times when I didn't live as close as I do now (6 miles) and it was an exhausting experience even with express. Now that I am close and have a premier pass, early park for a few rides is great and then the after 4pm express for later days.
I have 2 days to spend in universal. I’m not sure what pass to buy for the price and time worthy. I would like to buy the 2 days-2 parks pass but it is highly expensive. I am leaning towards the 1 park each day option it is a lot cheaper for me at the moment, what do you think about me choosing that option? Will this be a hit or miss?

I am so happy that I found you two! I'm surprising my 8yr old grandson with a Universal/ Disney trip in September (checking in late on the 8th -10th} ,we are staying at Cabana Bay for two nights with a two-day park to park passes. Do you know if Universal have a disability pass? My daughter, 38 yrs old, has high anxieties or should we get the express pass to help her with not staying in lines. We never like telling people to spend that extra money! What we will say is it will likely be busier than a typical Wednesday. Express passes will always enhance a trip, but we wouldn’t say it’s necessary!
As long as you are not coming between March and April. Ride lines are over an hour for every ride during spring break. Also, I would skip Transformers, it is a copy of Spider-Man and do Minions instead.
We are more referencing the early morning line at Hagrids when you are in the extended queue back there by sinbads theatre. That’s why we said it doesn’t really work on forbidden journey.

I rode 15 rides in bout a day and a half, Hadgrids and The Velocicoaster twice, Forbidden Journey, King Kong, Spider man, Transformers, and more. Sadly we didn’t get to hulk as we had dinner reservations at Chocolate Emporium but hey milkshake made up for it. What you guys think I think it’s pretty good for having 7 people

I wish I watched your other video about getting a annual pass earlier. I didn't know the premier annual pass gives you discount on Universal hotels too. So we bought our tickets already and didn't book onsite hotels and won't be able to get in the park earlier when we visit in April. 😭
Hey there! If it saves you money having the annual passes, you can call universal and they will allow you to upgrade your tickets to the passes! We hope this helps!
This was assuming without express! With express, the route would be similar, but we would do Hagrid’s followed by Velocicoaster and then come back to forbidden journey with express!
There is not enough one day strategy out there for Universal. I live out of state, and if lucky I can make Orlando once a year, and I can’t always spring for express passes.

Oh my gosh, that’s crazy! We’ve never heard of anything like that! May shouldn’t be nearly that bad, it’s projected to be much slower than March/April!
1) Do the wand spots very early or very late. The overall crowd walking and gawking builds steadily after regular opening time, and is sort of bad to bad steadily till later. Lines to do wand spot can be 3-10 people by 10-11AM, AND you have the effect spoiler multiple times before you get to do it 2) Go during the time around Halloween when they have Death Eaters roaming and wand fighting with people all over Hogsmeade. Totally cool to even just watch. They will do mini-skits with people and kids
Was just there last night for marshmellow. Have too say was a little disappointed on the sound system/or the sound guys. We were on the road right in front and it sounded really echoed and bad. Too many people for my liking as well. They blocked off entry 30mins before it started
First thing in the morning you used to not really be in line for hagrids. It was kind of a queueing area to get into the line. It’s no longer this way!

I’m from Murfreesboro too! My husband and I don’t fly so we drive there on Friday early am get there right before closing Friday have dinner at city walk then all day in the parks on Saturday. Then drive back Sunday am. I look forward to that one day for a month. One is in fact better than 0!

Save Hagrids for the end of the day. You can wait in line and ride after the park is closed, as long as you get in the queue before closing.

Man, I was there on opening day for Hagrid’s Magical Creature Motorbike Adventure, the whole line was packed; we were in line for two in a half to three hours, and therefore, I know what it’s like.
That was such a crazy day! We have never seen a line that long!

On March 5th the posted wait for hagrids was 65 minutes and we waited 27! Way over estimated! I know that’s a rarity but I was able to get in 3 Hagrid rides that day :-)

You guys... we went to universal this past week and visited both parks over a couple of days. When we were in universal studios I insisted on Fast & Furious just to see if Tylers claims were true since we had never ridden it before. and OH BOY 🤣
LOL we try to warn people!! I’m glad you rode it once and now every time you ride it it will be like a joke 😂
Early admission to closing is 14 hours, with an express pass, is plenty of time to do both parks, with going on the same rides multiple times.
We think it’s possible depending on what time of year you are going. When 2-3 rides can take 4-5 hours, that’s where you get behind!
@@ThePughTwo agreed. My son and I are annual pass holders. We hit the parks almost every weekend and for 4 days in a row for vacation. Your tips have helped navigate and plan our attacks. We speed walk back and forth.
Love the videos! Just a heads up hogwarts express has 2 trains. When the trains leave, they switch sides. So the train doesn't have to pick up then drop off then pick people up then only come back.
Yeah you can see them pass each other if you look to the left of kings cross station! It’s pretty neat! We were just saying it takes a while!

Hi, love all of your videos and have gotten some really great tips for a first timer! 🙌 My husband and I are going for a quick weekend and doing universal/IOA for one day the Sunday of Labor Day weekend and will have EPA… With it closing a little bit earlier due to HHN would you say express passes are a must? I watched your previous video on Labor Day weekend and it didn’t seem like the wait times were too crazy but don’t want to shoot myself in the foot and pay double for express passes the day of… thank you in advance for any thoughts/tips you may have on this 😁
Hi Alicia, thank you so much! We're so glad our videos have been helpful! We don't think express is necessary at all, we would just suggest going to Universal Studios first thing in the morning. Then, you can make your way over to Islands later in the day. Express is always nice to have, but it's definitely not a necessity!

Hi, A very helpful video. Just a question, if we are going for one day, what do you suggest.. A backpack or Fanny pack? Considering there are water rides and avoiding locker wait times. This would be our first visit.

If you have stuff that you definitely need, we would suggest maybe taking a backpack and getting an all day locket upfront if you don’t want to deal with the free lockers!
This is the path I use except I'll ride Hagrids and Velocicoaster twice. Granted I go during HHN so I don't worry about going over to Universal before HHN starts.

Thank you for the videos, and the way you present everything. Our family, 6 adults, will be visiting Universal for the first time in June, spending 2 nights at Royal Pacific after a WDW stay. You need wayyyyy more trips to the hopping pot, obviously! I like this Itinerary, but I'd trade Hulk for Suess Trolley and River Adventure For Bluto's. I'm uncomfortably addicted to Bluto's!!!!! Not only do I love getting soaked on this ride, but I LOOOOVVVEEEE watching others getting drenched, their reactions are epically hilarious!!!

@@jaimeerindy4573 It wasn’t virtual for this entire trip, but who knows. That could change at any time! Lol it depends how early you get there, too. If you’re really close to the front of the gates, we would suggest Hagrid’s. But don’t wait over 120 minutes for it first thing in the morning!

Lots of great ideas sadly this will be our first time and most of the rides my kids cant ride or wouldnt want to so we will be skipping most. my one son will have a disable pass so hopefully that will help with the rides we want to go on Hagrids with him and my oldest while my husband waits with our younger kids. we have early admission letsd see if i can do it all in one day lol

Yeah you will probably be fine! You won’t get to see all the shows, but you should be able to do most of it if you push yourself!

There are definitely different ways to do it! We would hit up everything we can with express for sure and then jump in those longer non express lines!
Pretty much on the nose to what we've been doing. Skipping The Simpsons is smart to save time because that line moves pretty slow but, if you have the time, I recommend that ride even if you don't like the cartoon. And I'd strongly recommend the jimmy Fallon ride. Mine is always short and since The Mummy is down, jimmy is right next to it.
We enjoy Fallon, we don’t know why it gets the hate it gets sometimes!
Sounds like a good plan for a one day trip! Gotta say, though, that I don't advocate for people getting butterbeers and then joining others in line. Line cutting is one of my biggest pet peeves and has actually made the parks a little less enjoyable at times in recent trips. We had so many people cut us in line for Hagrid's last time, they could have filled a whole train. If the ride had shut down right before I was supposed to get on after waiting 90 minutes in line... yikes.
We were more talking about about when you are pre queueing for Hagrids first thing in the morning! That’s why we said it wouldn’t really work at Forbidden journey! We have had a couple people mention this and after rewatching it, we can see the confusion so that’s our fault.
What are the shortcuts BTW universal and island if not using hogworts X?
They sometimes have a shortcut open by minions, but if that’s closed, then you just have to walk through CityWalk!
Love the video but I would sacrifice another ride to ride the Hogwarts Express (favorite ride), otherwise...totally agree.

Add Dr Doom's in. Line is usually short, and it's a great ride. I would skip Hulk if necessary to ride it, no joke!
Lunch: Confisco's Loaded Nachos!
Later, go to Bourne Stuntacular after E.T., skip Transformers. Squeeze in Horror Make-Up Show if possible. If I do slunch, it's going to be jacket potatoes, but crepes would be my second choice!
We are so excited to get those nachos this trip! We have never had them and have reservations for Tuesday!
We always hit Cat in the hat ride after green eggs and ham they have the best A/C

It's certainly possible but it's what I would call a death march... You better have express passes for sure... Done it several times when I didn't live as close as I do now (6 miles) and it was an exhausting experience even with express. Now that I am close and have a premier pass, early park for a few rides is great and then the after 4pm express for later days.

I have 2 days to spend in universal. I’m not sure what pass to buy for the price and time worthy. I would like to buy the 2 days-2 parks pass but it is highly expensive. I am leaning towards the 1 park each day option it is a lot cheaper for me at the moment, what do you think about me choosing that option? Will this be a hit or miss?
The only real difference is if you want to ride the hogwarts express or not! If you don’t care about that, the one park per day is great!

I'm surprising my 8yr old grandson with a Universal/ Disney trip in September (checking in late on the 8th -10th} ,we are staying at Cabana Bay for two nights with a two-day park to park passes. Do you know if Universal have a disability pass? My daughter, 38 yrs old, has high anxieties or should we get the express pass to help her with not staying in lines.

Hi my family of 4 are going to Universal Studios on Wednesday March 30th will it be worth it buy the express pass for that day?
We never like telling people to spend that extra money! What we will say is it will likely be busier than a typical Wednesday. Express passes will always enhance a trip, but we wouldn’t say it’s necessary!
As long as you are not coming between March and April. Ride lines are over an hour for every ride during spring break. Also, I would skip Transformers, it is a copy of Spider-Man and do Minions instead.
Its still pretty hard to do all the shows and rides in one day. We would say impossible probably! We can see skipping Transformers for sure!
how does "sending someone to get butterbeer" work in a practical sense? How and where do they re-enter the line? isn't this viewed as line-cutting?
We are more referencing the early morning line at Hagrids when you are in the extended queue back there by sinbads theatre. That’s why we said it doesn’t really work on forbidden journey.
Does hagrids still use virtual line?
It does but it hasn’t been using it here lately!!

I rode 15 rides in bout a day and a half, Hadgrids and The Velocicoaster twice, Forbidden Journey, King Kong, Spider man, Transformers, and more. Sadly we didn’t get to hulk as we had dinner reservations at Chocolate Emporium but hey milkshake made up for it. What you guys think I think it’s pretty good for having 7 people

Harry Potter World for sure. Quick question. The lockers at the rides you put your pack in. Is it safe for your camera equipment? Are people there watching over them?
They have team members watching them and we never worry about our gear when we put it in there!

I wish I watched your other video about getting a annual pass earlier. I didn't know the premier annual pass gives you discount on Universal hotels too. So we bought our tickets already and didn't book onsite hotels and won't be able to get in the park earlier when we visit in April. 😭

This was assuming without express! With express, the route would be similar, but we would do Hagrid’s followed by Velocicoaster and then come back to forbidden journey with express!
There is not enough one day strategy out there for Universal. I live out of state, and if lucky I can make Orlando once a year, and I can’t always spring for express passes.

Oh my gosh, that’s crazy! We’ve never heard of anything like that! May shouldn’t be nearly that bad, it’s projected to be much slower than March/April!
What would your One Day all Wizarding World recommendations be?
1) Do the wand spots very early or very late. The overall crowd walking and gawking builds steadily after regular opening time, and is sort of bad to bad steadily till later. Lines to do wand spot can be 3-10 people by 10-11AM, AND you have the effect spoiler multiple times before you get to do it
2) Go during the time around Halloween when they have Death Eaters roaming and wand fighting with people all over Hogsmeade. Totally cool to even just watch. They will do mini-skits with people and kids

Was just there last night for marshmellow. Have too say was a little disappointed on the sound system/or the sound guys. We were on the road right in front and it sounded really echoed and bad. Too many people for my liking as well. They blocked off entry 30mins before it started

First thing in the morning you used to not really be in line for hagrids. It was kind of a queueing area to get into the line. It’s no longer this way!

I’m from Murfreesboro too! My husband and I don’t fly so we drive there on Friday early am get there right before closing Friday have dinner at city walk then all day in the parks on Saturday. Then drive back Sunday am. I look forward to that one day for a month. One is in fact better than 0!
