They're all great tips but keeping a uke handy is a huge one! I live in an area where it's necessary to humidify wooden instruments half the year, so I was worried about leaving a uke out of its case. Having a Nova U made such a huge difference for me because it can sit out all the time without any problems! I love my wooden ukes, but as you said, if you have to go into another room, closet, open a case, fish out a humidifier and then retune, you play less frequently. The Nova U gets played multiple times a day and even during TV commercials.
Brilliant idea using the Nova because yes, I can imagine the humidity being an issue and yes, being able to just grab an instrument makes a HUGE difference. Loved reading this! 😎

I am thankful this came on after your 2nd "show us your ukes" (not nukes) series and really happy about this beginner info video! I like beginner videos since I think there always might be something that I missed so I dont mind watching them at all
i will need to buy a tenor uke because i'm using a baritone now with DGBE tuning. I like the guitar lower sound.I'm working with getting to know some of the baritone chords but the chords on tenor seem easier.I will get there.

Some really useful tips I picked up, even though I have been playing a little over a year this video was really useful to a slow learner. One of your previous videos was a game changer for me with the Bm chord just moving 1 string over from Em, so thankful you posted it.

Just something else. I have bought on Amazon a book called The Ukulele Chord Bible by Tobe A Richard's. It has 2160 chords for GCEA uke but there is also a DGBE one too. Weirdo chords like 11th's and 13th's, slash chords and more.
Hi. I worry about other people they can all play the ukulele + guitar. And I can't I wish somebody could hypnotize me like they do for smokers so I could play. This will make you laugh I can play a ( KAZOO ) like Punch and Judy
Sorry I don't want to be a nuisance it's the chords I'm struggling with I even bought a finger exerciser thingy ma jig. My ring finger and the next finger and finger all move at the same time. It's doing my head in. I'm left-handed. Might try right handed. ( oh and I'm not being rude )
Never a nuisance! It might be worth trying a right handed, I know many LH players play RH but also, it does take time to get your fingers working independantly, especially if you are not used to playing chords. Take your time and practice little and often, the muscle memory will happen.
Cyngor doeth - It's not as accurate as good play along video but I swear I wouldn't be able to play as many songs as I can if it wasn't for Chordify. You can throw any RUclips video into it and it'll have a stab working out the chords.
Diolch Geth. Have to admit, I have never really used to chordify, maybe I should try it? I do always manage to work out the chords but it does shock me sometimes how wrong they are!
@@UkuleleWales 100%, identifying chords by ear is a incredibly useful skill. That said I like Chordify as it's quite frankly quicker than my ears. And while it's not 100% accurate I find it gives me a useful starting point to work things out. There's quite a few songs in my videos that I wouldn't have been able to cover without Chordify.

I'm not a Baritone player but I believe the chord shapes are the same. I do love the tone from a tenor uke.
