Honestly, it has the same max turning angle as a controller so it's pretty similar if not identical to control. With enough time, I could get to the same I'm at now on a controller.
Also, why are there no tweaking tools for the keyboard ? Things like Saturation and Sensitivity are not programmable by default on the keyboard preset. Игры
Most people unfamiliar with this game have no idea what a torture it must be to drive a group B car in Whales on keyboard, because you just made it look easy
hardest thing ive ever had to do in gaming
Third world issues
You gotta do watcha gotta do if ur broke
@@jrotela what do you use on pc, my lord.
Really? I've found it surprisingly easy...
You are using a unique and weird keyboard set up but you are pretty good and fast driver. I personally use the classic wsad for movements. space for handbrake and insert and delete for shift up and down in most of racing games.
Me too. Because it is easy since all the keys can be pressed with one hand (i use my left hand)
Back before I switched to a controller, I used arrows for throttle, brakes and steering, A and Z for shifting, left Shift for clutch, Q W A for looking left-behind-right, and space for handbrake
@@installshieldwizard3017 Now I got a FFB wheel recently lol. And playing dirt 2.0.
I can verify this, *yes it's so hard in a keyboard.*
especially the *throttles are uncontrollable* and it's complicated to drive an RWD.
It takes practice though and knowledge of rallying to get it done.
mastering rwd on keyboard feels like you are colin mcrae himself
Absolute madlad
you're insane man, really awesome
This is pure art
I managed to win MAsters Championship playing on a keyboard, I actually found it easier to use keybaord rather than a steerng wheel. Anyway it is difficult, I had spent some 50hrs before finally grabbing that title
Probably because on a keyboard it's much easier to make those quick steering inputs
@@theicekiller7574 you could change your steering rotation to make it more sensitive, for example like 540 degrees of steering rotation for rally and maybe a little less for group B
I also won the Masters championship on a keyboard, actually multiple times (though gotta admit, it took hundreds and thousands of restarts). I did it with the Mk. II Escort, the Stratos and the Manta 400 of all things. Didn't try with AWDs, I got a wheel and switched to DR 2.0. Even after a few hundred hours, I'm simply not good enough to even get into the Masters Championship. Not sure if it's me or if the AI is quicker in that game than it was in the first one.
Not only he is a hell of a pilot in keyboard, HE IS USING A SPEEDING BULLET! A GROUP B CLASSIC!!
THE speeding bullet. That thing scares me every time turbo kicks in.
Christ, I’ll hand it down to you, I’ve never tried playing on the keyboard but this is exceptional driving so well done
Huge respect to you sir, I tried this game last night using a keyboard and let me say this. THIS GAME IS VERY DIFFICULT!
That's insane
You very good at this game... I'm JEALOUS.
One of the tougher levels in the game
This is just skill. I respect u homie
awesome driving btw !
this man is a true gamer
I love how some people who have a very expensive sim setup play in third person while this guy with a keyboard plays in first person. Why would you even play a sim game third person?
I play this game on third person just because of the sounds the car makes. When im inside the cockpit, i can't hear much and i think that's the case with many people playing in third person.
@@iosifgoudaras4221 Try using the bumper cam. You get the outside sounds, the cockpit isn't covering half of the screen and you get the greatest sense of speed, since it's the lowest angle.
@@Osprey850 i have tried it but thank you for the suggestion.
to be fair a lot of videos show peoples replays which are set to third person even though they play in first person, if they have a wheelcam then you can usually see the first person gameplay.
When I drive I put my face almost against the windshield, so I cant see any of the pointless crap around me. Hood camera in game is almost the same.
rpm gauge has two useful numbers for this drive 10k and 1 k
sorta classical day for me.
i also drive with the clutch too, but i have most of my muscle memory in my thumb, which is a thing not too many people have so my setting may not be for everyone.
A- steer left
D- steer right
W- Gas
S- Brake
Space Bar- handbrake
X- shift up
Y- Shift down
Shift- clutch
all of this is on Azerty type.
last thing killed me
Keyboard or not, this is some good n fun driving!!
Could you please send the driving settings in the game? I mean ABS, tration control etc.
you are amazing...!
I do playing this game only with a keyboard and it's so hard...
Does Dirt Rally 2 have keyboard steering saturation settings?
Nice mapping!! I do have a similar mapping that works better than WASD
W - Throttle / Accelerate
A - Turn left
D - Turn right
U - Handbrake
I - Brake/Reverse
O - Clutch
Y - Gear Up
H - Gear Down
By using this mapping I can have one key per finger on throttle, brake, clutch, turn left and turn right, the only finger that moves from key to key is the one that shares gear shifting and handbrake, I'm thinking about moving gear up to spacebar for thumb and gear down to LShift for pinky so that I can shift gears and use the handbrake simultaneously
use arrows, left hand will be more convenient for everything else (ctrl shift for gears, easy access alt, spacebar etc)
@@iikatinggangsengii2471 I'm lefthanded, driving with my right hand would make me finish stages with a naked chassis
I use W gas, A left, D right, E gear up, Q gear down, Ñ brakes and L handbrake
In my opinion its not as hard as people make it seem, altough it is recommended to map gear up to numpad 4 and gear down to numpad, in my opinion at least.
Altough in Dirt 2.0, any rwd car other than the mustang is impossible to drive
It’s possible but you won’t have steering linearity. It would be like having it set to maximum (10 I think).
nice driving. Pro keyboard racer.
i always used to play racing games like this on a keyboard
Yeah, old-school PC gamers are used to playing games with the keyboard, including driving sims. I don't think that the earliest driving sims that I played even supported any input other than keyboard... and those that did had joystick support, but driving with a joystick felt weird to me, so I kept using the keyboard, anyways.
Cool!
What a chad!
Skill)
Do you have the Rii K63 mechanical keyboard? If so, me too
It's actually the CoolerMaster Quickfire TK, in Cherry MX Reds.
U legend
wtf that's crazy af.
ok so... wtf is up with the RPM gauge? what car? and... mad
This is the Peugeot 205 t16. The RPM gauge is on the left, and the Turbo PSI gauge is on the right.
Oh ok, was a bit confused on why the "rpm" gauge was going ape shit... still nice
lil Trash Panda ye me too
homie with the tactical FOV, so he can read the notes himself.
Pro gamer , key board is the best,👍👍👍
So nice
dude i also have q and e as gear with space as brake and arrow for left right gas and Hbrake
how much do you want to change gear?
this guy: Yes
I achieved some good results on keyboard but not on Group B cars and all the RWD cars it's so much brutal and slippery good job mate
I'm new to this game, is there anyway I can play to practice getting used to my keybinds?
lmfao you got skill though...a real pc gamer right there guys watch and learn
What is yout force feedback settings?
what is your steering setup ?
sensitivity etc...
that boost gauge lol.
i fear no man, but this.. it scares me
You're using manual gear shifting right?
Yes
This is fucking insane
Is this dirt rally 2 or the first one??
Well that's me too
yep dirt rally on a keyboard
Dirt Rally on a keyboard
It's quite possible
I know it's been 3 years but w is supposed to be gas, and S brake
yep, maybe in gta and other casual driving games, in dirt rally they prefear to let you drive with both hands and so have more control.
Most of my videos are with keyboard some are with steering wheel. Someone else has already said it. It's not that hard until you drive a RWD car
Keyboard is good, specially with assists, not sure if a wheel is a drastic improvement.
I find it pretty easy to drive on keyboard
Yeah, I've been a keyboard driver for 35 years. As with anything, if you do it for long enough, it feels comfortable and you can get pretty good with it.
What are your prefrence settings?
A - Steer Left
D - Steer Right
Q - Gear Down
E - Gear Up[
Y- Gas
T - Brake
Space bar - Handbrake
For me its:
A - left
D - right
Q - gear up
E - gear down
J - accelerate
K - brake
Space - handbrake
Do it with RWD
This is speed up video for sure
idk, looks normal speed look at the hands changing gears. 😁
i had difficulty on keyboard
how
Is that manual sequential?
Yes, In theory you COULD try this with an H-pattern for gears but It doesn't sound very appealing.
Before i have a gamepad, i used to play with the keyboard too... It feels like you're in hell especially when you play rally sim racing. Your concentration getting split on the keyboard and the navigator
that hand shit at the end was cringe hahaha
how can i use my keyboard to control the game ?
Plug it in the PC...
@@dternuggets8655 i know . what i mean is the controller of the game so that i can move to the left and right.
@@Bjorn-Zaire bind the controls to the keys.
I really feel inferior watching him play better using a PS4 joystick and using one of the most fast cars in the game
I love dirt games but this and dirt Rally 2.0 are just not for me 💀
Like its nice, but if you dont know how to play it on wheel, its unusable
In my opinion it is almost impossible to play DIRT Rally with the keyboard. I have found no logic to predict oversteer/understeer....the car bumps like crazy. Too much wasted time. I quit and uninstalled the game. The game was supposed to come with a bundled racing wheel otherwise is unplayable.
Wtf
