I love how I still like the "simplicity" of vanguard way back then (Dont get me wrong, I also love the G era and the reboot). No strides or imaginary gifts. just a deck of 50 cards,and you're good to go XD
Actually at this point, this was the most complexity the deck got to. Legions were easier. Cross rides and limit breaks and break rides made things very hard to promise a perfect run up.
Yeah and only a few number of clan able to go up against each other and considered meta. I hate it when there are just some clan that will always be better than the other one, even now.

Which is something G and even the reboot lacks, everything is so blatantly shown to combo with each other makes it less rewarding when you take time out for deckbuilding

V-Shin has done it the whole time, for the main fights at least. You can't expect them to give you multiple simultaneous fights when they are on an episode limit.

It makes the fights more grounded and relatable. Although it was nice seeing the fights with more movement in the more recent ones, it only takes up the time where they should focus on the actual battles themselves.

I have to admit, G was pretty good. However, bushi did dirty stuff especially tje recent reboot. The storyline became average with so many lacklusters in the delivery on attempting to give a new series. Fights became too predictable and there are many loopholes to the plot and some repetitive stunts pulled off. They even had to bring back Aichi with no significant contribution to the plot. Animation went mediocre (I guess the budget for the show have been decreasing) and Bushiroad became more profit based. I still have some love for the show but a good plot makes a better selling point for the company.
I love finding others who agree the reboot just isn't as good as the original!! Bushi screwed up when they decided to powercreep the hell outta the end of G then left it as a tattered mess!

It's like the problem was not even that much of a big deal nowadays and Shin arc had the most confusing plot.

When Vanguard first came out I was watching most of it dubbed and I didn't stop the video to read all the sub because I wanted to practice reading fast. Anyway I went through almost two sessions thinking Ren was a GIRL! I was off the Computer because I was at camp came back went to episode 1 all the way to session 3 dub and was surprised to find out Ren was a MAN!
LMFAO I found out about Vanguard from my recommendation feed and it was Ren vs Aichi at first I thought he was a girl but once I got into the dub I realized he was male. Like seriously am I getting catfished here? The Long Red hair, the face and who names their son Ren was so blown away XD

Decided to watch the anime just to see him. 😂😂 and of course, despite having seen Kai's coolness for the 1st few episodes, i was just looking forward to seeing Ren. That's in hindsight. All of us, while watching this episode for the first time when it was released, would have done what Ren did. It's the most logical play.

I came from 2021 and this fight is still my favorite fight in the entire Cardfight!! Vanguard Anime.

It helped to fill your dropzone which meant you could legion without minusing your hand as much.
