“I’m kind of proud of this!” Dude. You just built a better base than mine, but in 2D! You’ve also coded plenty of things into the game that I don’t have half the brainpower for! Give yourself some credit. You deserve it.
If the backwall of the tree room was made of dirt it MAY actually work, since iirc saplings ignore dirt, logs, and leaves when determining if they can grow. There'd still be the problem of them growing into 3d trees though.

@@mysticat hey this was so awesome ! Not sure if this was mentioned somewhere else already, but it would look WAY better if you moved the "cameraman armor stand" much further away and zoomed in the the FOV slider. This would effectively make everything look more flat and more like 2D

your idea of using the armor stand as a camera is really cool and not something i'd seen before (though that may be largely due to watching mainly survival youtubers), but if i may suggest, if you ever do something like that in the future, you could use a single fixed value instead of relative coordinates for the armor stand's X position, so that the camera doesn't zoom in and out slightly when you accidentally walk along the third dimension. (you could also orient the world along the X axis so the textures on the tops of blocks are a nicer way around, but that part's a nitpick :P)

Such a cozy base! It reminds me of those 2D video games where the goal is to collect resources and expand the base to its full capacity. Though I suppose that since the storage system can be extended infinitely, there wouldn't be a full capacity. I still find it interesting to think about though!

However, there is a flaw in your design, where your honey farm blocks off your villager trading hall and storage from being expanded horizontally.

Shouldve used a infinite carpet machine for the super smelter: By placing 2 observers not facing into eachother, one piston and a carpet, you can get infinite fuel since carpets CAN be smelted and then they fall into a hopper leading into all the furnices. Another good thing about that is that its automatic so most of the time your furnaces would be full with 64 carpets

Why were you using a super smelter instead of an adamantite forge and a mythril anvil? This base would only be useful in prehardmode

You could build the super smelter by just putting several 2d-working, automatically-from-a-chest-refilling single-furnace smelter modules next to each other and connecting their in- and outputs.
