Okay, so let me get this straight. You’re a contractor that does tiling, plumbing, framing, painting, cabinetry, and electrical?? Dude, you’re like a unicorn!!!!
So watching your yt video I cant believe that there is someone else on this Earth that is a craftsman at every level start to finish. I myself have sought to be professional level at everything between excavation to shingles. Few will realize the passion and commitment it takes to know the professional level of application of all trades to complete a project such as this with forethought from rough-in to finish, all trades in one. I have over 35 years in mastering the application of multiple trades to accomplish a fine, functional, quality, finish that customers marvel at....Sir I marvel at you and your forethought and set up for the finish...I’m not alone! Thank you!
This is one of the most PROFESSIONAL jobs I've seen on YT. You cleaned as you went along. And everything was done purposefully and with care! Well done!
Michał Szajkowski Lets see your work then. This was done with love and craftsmanship. Maybe you don’t like the design choices, but that isn’t the focus.
As a professional contractor myself, I can appreciate all of the little things you did in this bathroom redo. Really great job and attention to detail. If this is the way you work regularly, I'm sure you're a busy guy. Nicely done!
@@numbahone1434 its a state to state thing, in the state i live in about 8 years ago they said you don't need it. You see people get crappy work done a lot but its super cheap, and then I get called to come fix it :D
In the US we have a Quantity/Cost driven economy and general mindset. We prefer to have things cheap and plentiful over the best quality. This is terrible in the long run as all it ends up doing is making things break down faster and nothing really ends up lasting or standing up to the test of time. But like the previous comments have mentioned you get what you pay for.
@@superduperkid3143 That's not the true reason though. As someone who hired contractors and ended up hating the job, would have gladly paid an extra 30% to have this guy instead. The problem is I couldn't find anyone like this guy. Most of them are just greedy GCs who don't actually do the work and sub it out. They also charge ridiculous amounts already. If you know anything about construction type of job (whether it's remodeling, HVAC, or other home improvement areas), you would know the ridiculously fat the margin in. I have a good friend in HVAC, and he confirms over 50%, and sometimes up to 70-80% of the price you pay for say a new AC is in labor. If you paid $4K for an AC, the AC itself may just cost somewhere around $1.5K and you are paying the guys $2.5K for 3-4 hours of labor. The same thing can go for these remodeling work. These GCs will sub out the tile work for like $500 and pocket the other $800.
My back and knees are literally aching after watching how much work this took! I'm blown away by how talented this contractor is. The homeowner is very fortunate to have had such a knowledgeable craftsman who did EVERYTHING right to ensure a long-lasting, quality installation. That is VERY rare today. Whatever price was charged, they got a bargain.
Makes me wonder if they bought left overs. The subway tile pushed it over the top. 5 different tiles. Could have left the skinny tiles out also. Impressive workmanship. Thanks for the video.
Why would they go with the 80s style ceiling texture again? I guess they wanted to match the rest of the house but still, it would have been fine to do the washroom without it.
@@barrellcooper6490 Maybe, but he said the homeowners were excited to see all the different styles and textures. It's like they looked at some home reno magazines and decided to take all the current design trends and throw them together. The fact that they elected to put the 80s texture back on the ceiling makes me think they just don't have any taste.
It is so refreshing to see somebody else who takes the time to take pride in the little things not just the big ones and keep the job site clean, think you could give me a run for my money. Bravo!!!
i was in the tile industry for a very long time, selling, designing, educating and some installing, very nice attention to the prep work and to the details of tile install. Damn you've done an incredible job of documenting and narrating everything. This is exactly the type of things I'm looking for regarding renovations. Of course, I don't do this for my own projects...
Great job it’s amazing how much work is involved in a small bathroom. I’ve done several. One little tip I like to add handicap 2X6 blocking in areas where a future rail bar may be added. Even near the toilet on your left side wall is a good place for a nailer. Really helps when installing a hand rail. The lights are called canless wafer lights and are a nice new type of light very versatile. Also some of the other wall board options are the Shluter system which is a foam board way easier to install however very pricey. I like to compromise with Hardi board or Hardi backer board. Little liter, easier to cut with a knife and snap like drywall. Its also real easy for one of these small bathrooms to go sideways and one problem leads to others during the finish and disaster if not addressed at the time they come up. Measure level then measure again as you mentioned is so important. Lots of prep before the next step is crucial and you did just that with protecting areas as needed and clean as you go. Nice job.
Same layout as my bathroom and exactly what I want to do with it. Remove double vanity for a single. Move toilet over to make room for a nice walk-in shower. Great video!
Great Job. However, I always install the niches behind the half walls. Niches look great when empty. Homeowners regret having niches visible after they start putting all their bottles. The subway tile looks off with the design, but that's the owner's choice. Also I like to install the shower handle behind the half wall so you can open the shower from the outside and avoid getting wet.

Great work man, great detail. Really shows the excess craftsmanship needed to have a wonderful finish product. You performed a ton of tasks as a one man operation very skillfully. Jack of all trades!
I do not believe most folk have short attention spans. I watch plenty of content that is 2 or 3 hours long. It is so much more satisfying getting into detail.
I’m a builder and just love the tutorial you give with the time frames between mud drying and starting the concrete work. Quality video mate. I’ve learned a lot and it’s given me the confidence to do my own before I offer this service out. Also have you got the link for the new tile setting system you mentioned? Well done and thank you.
I love it when the customer pre-arranges the tile pieces out in the garage exactly how they want it installed on the floor! Especially when you come in to work that morning and are told how hard they worked staying up all night arranging every piece. Glad i knew this before I quoted the job.
amazing that you do all the plumbing and electrical too... which im sure works out better in the end because none of the installs change or interfere with each other
You do great work! I haven’t seen the aluminum corner detail before- it (as well as the grout) really lend well to tying all the pattern variations together! A VERY clean pseudo-industrial look. I really like the trend lately. Mainly due to my gravitation toward grayscale- but I am anxious for some change. Seems like 30 kitchens and baths were spawned by the same 😈designer. 😆 Very, VERY nice work, thank you for sharing!
You are a true professional. Our contractor did not waterproof our shower like you did this shower, our grout is crumbling and our tile is cracking after only 1.5 years of having it done. Thank you for showing us how a bathroom should be tiled the right way, we are going to have to retile our bathroom and shower. Too bad you don't live in Salt Lake City Utah.
Man I been doing this work for 20 years and you do a great professional job, looks great...just wish the tile was not four different looks 🤮but hey home owner is always rite !!!
You sir, are not only worth the subscribe but also very worthy of my very first comment on a RUclips video. I've never seen someone do what I do in these videos, and you do it very well. Best of luck in your very promising future.
the home owners sure had guts to design their bathroom specifically to incorporate all these different tile patterns, I'll give them that. awesome job on your part.
A jack of all trades is a master of none, but you're a master of all trades. Great job and thanks for putting this out. Gave me an idea on what I have to do this summer when I remodel my bathroom.
Actually 5, the floor in the room 1, the floor in the shower 2, the tile on the shower wall 3, the subway tile on the outside of the shower 4, and the skinny tiles in the shampoo alcove and under the subway tile 5. Maybe it was leftovers from other jobs IDK. Further proof that just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. LoL. As long as they are happy. I like the pebble floor. Great workmanship.
I've been thinking of using a similar tile in my shower and realized I definitely need to stagger the pattern and keep away from long verticle lines in my small space. Great video good job from u even though the client's mix and match tiles is too busy and dumb.
I used to use the rubber membrane with concrete on the floor but I just recently did a shower with a pre-cut Schluter Kerdi system for the floor. Yes it's expensive but it sure saves a lot of work. You might want to give that a try next time; I'll bet that you never go back! You did a very nice job.
Oh my god, how long did this take you? It would legitimately take me a year to DIY this. How much did this entire project cost? Come do my bathroom for me hahahah!
Not a well known fact that you can estimate a plumber's experience by how much crack is showing its a easy formula 1in = 5 yrs experience 😆. Job well done👍🏼
Great job! I watch these videos with a critical eye and have nothing to say about this job. I would do everything exactly the same way. Your work lets me know that I must be doing alright! Thanks.
After watching tons of these type of videos, I'm ready to embark on a home renovation project, only to fail miserably and leave it to the experts to fix my mess :p
Man, i was in high school learning all construction, the Monday we were going back to school to learn and practice plumbing, electrical schools closed.
No time like the present. DIY videos on youtube are everywhere for any project you want to undertake. And lots of RUclipsrs will answer questions if the video is new enough. Don't stop learning until you're dead!
one thing i have noticed is that cleaning tile with an oil base such as murphys wood soap helps with dust midigation and does help with the cleaning and polishing the tile. beautiful job man! ty for the video!
Very few channels I watch for the first time I subscribe to but half through this one I did . When you got to the dry pack and pvc liner I knew you are a man of the old tried a true ways . I do it the same way ,my step dad has been doing it this way since he got home from Vietnam and has never ever had a recall for a leaky shower pan . (Granted red guard wasn’t around then and is a nice insurance policy ).I personally don’t trust the newer way ,just don’t want to rely on a mastic glue for water proofing. Not saying it doesn’t work I’m just to skeptical on the longevity of it . Great work and attention to detail .
👍Amazing workmanship, Zack! Well done! Precise, efficient, effective and cleaning along are very great skills of yours. Thank you for sharing and also the calming voice-narration. Really appreciate it. Thumbed up and subscribed 🤗 - Since your channel focuses on how, I'm not going to criticize the "what/design" choices made by the clientele 😅
Really, really nice work. Agree with the other commenter -- your narration is very well done: you explain the right things, keep it moving, and highlight the work. Wish my crews were as thoughtful as you were here. Well done.
first time watching u. U do an excellent job each step of the way. I really enjoyed just how much pride u take in what u do. The tile selections were all over the place, nothing to do with how well u managed the end result. great skill !!!
This looks amazing. I'm curious about the actual showering. Is this a bathroom that's ok to have water splash over the wall or does the wall act well enough as a barrier to prevent splash? Thanks.
I would bet that is one thing the homeowners regretted. We moved into a home in which the previous homeowners converted a shower/tub into a double shower with an opening like that in the middle of the two showers. Water gets all over the floor. We hate it. We had to come up with a makeshift idea to put a shower curtain up and use over the door hooks to hold it. It's tacky as heck, but it keeps the water from getting all over the bathroom floor until we can eventually remodel it.
That red sealant that you used to enhance the water proofing..I've never heard of that nor have I seen any of the other guys use it. I think you did an absolutely excellent job!! And, I have learned something new. Thank you!!

Durock is the best way💯been doing remodels and new homes for 25 yrs .
Great work man, great detail. Really shows the excess craftsmanship needed to have a wonderful finish product. You performed a ton of tasks as a one man operation very skillfully. Jack of all trades!
I love those retrofit led can lights too man. I use those any time I'm adding lights to an exiting ceiling. They are by far the easiest to install.
Yes, I watched the whole 35 plus mins. Great job and very good video!
Didn't even noticed it was that long. Normally I skip or stop watching but I couldn't wit this one... watched it all, he did a wonderful job!
I do not believe most folk have short attention spans. I watch plenty of content that is 2 or 3 hours long. It is so much more satisfying getting into detail.
I f*****g love that you clean up all the time. I hate to work with crap everywhere. Fantastic job
Excellent work, Practical Application. Very Professional. Hats off to you
amazing that you do all the plumbing and electrical too... which im sure works out better in the end because none of the installs change or interfere with each other
Great work💪🏼
Makes me want to do a full tear down on my bathroom
This is very well build....and looks like it will last for many years to come.
Most importantly , waterproof!!
Great job 👏
This was so satisfying to watch. This turned out beautiful!!
Fantastic!! I watched the entire thing and you should be PROUD. Quality craftsmanship and attention to detail!!
Man I been doing this work for 20 years and you do a great professional job, looks great...just wish the tile was not four different looks 🤮but hey home owner is always rite !!!
You're hired.... great level of detail. Most other pros should watch this!!!!
This is flawless ! Great ideas for my mater bath remod.
You sir, are not only worth the subscribe but also very worthy of my very first comment on a RUclips video. I've never seen someone do what I do in these videos, and you do it very well. Best of luck in your very promising future.
Great job man, thanks for sharing. Your professionalism and attention to detail is to be commended. Keep up the good work! (you have a new subscriber)
Man great job! Super smart design, can’t believe that’s the same bathroom.
the home owners sure had guts to design their bathroom specifically to incorporate all these different tile patterns, I'll give them that. awesome job on your part.
Omg the most professional job i have ever seen. My contractor told me he cannot move the toilet so its twin with the vanity
Great freaking job! Thanks for the detailed explanations as well.
A jack of all trades is a master of none, but you're a master of all trades. Great job and thanks for putting this out. Gave me an idea on what I have to do this summer when I remodel my bathroom.
awesome job, truly well done, and fun to watch. Homeowner chose 4 different tiles, came out tacky.
@@barrellcooper6490 my thought was they were fond of all those tiles and couldnt choose just 2. Some people want it all.
I've been thinking of using a similar tile in my shower and realized I definitely need to stagger the pattern and keep away from long verticle lines in my small space. Great video good job from u even though the client's mix and match tiles is too busy and dumb.
WOW.... I would hire you immediately to re-do our master bath. I have some great ideas and you do great work. Your attention to detail is top notch.
What details? See at 34:45, drama ... If this is the US standard, I feel sorry for you.
You made the drywall work look easy. As someone who just did it for the first time.. I can verify it's not as easy as it looks.
I applaud you for being A one man band. Very impressive.
This is an amazing job! Really enjoyed the time lapse voice over 😊
You sir are a rare breed, very professional bathroom remodeling, thanks for the video.
Oh my god, how long did this take you? It would legitimately take me a year to DIY this. How much did this entire project cost? Come do my bathroom for me hahahah!
Eh a year to charge 50k more
When you sell your house 🤷♂️
Thanks for the video, itll really help me out with my 2023 project.
I'm giving a thumbs up for two reasons, 1- Amazing job, well done. 2- there was "0" plumbers-crack this whole video!
Hahah! Thanks!
My current situation 😁🤦
I do this work daily also and I can truely appreciate the time and the planning that goes into this . Excellent job on your prep work .
What I wouldn't give to have learned how to do all this stuff when I was growing up.
Instead, they thought you social studies, right?
Man, i was in high school learning all construction, the Monday we were going back to school to learn and practice plumbing, electrical schools closed.
No time like the present. DIY videos on youtube are everywhere for any project you want to undertake. And lots of RUclipsrs will answer questions if the video is new enough. Don't stop learning until you're dead!
i learned it, now my body is f'd. everything hurts all the time. can't play some sports i use to love now. there's tradeoff's to everything
@@jsimo1431 You can learn and practice without messing up your body. All this means is you did it WRONG.
What a professional! Kudos to you for being so caring and conscientious!! Geat work!
keep making these bro, this just sucked me right in.
I thought a 35minute was going to be Terrible. It wasn't 🙃
one thing i have noticed is that cleaning tile with an oil base such as murphys wood soap helps with dust midigation and does help with the cleaning and polishing the tile. beautiful job man! ty for the video!
Omg I’m exhausted just watching this LOL, nice job!!
Thumbed up and subscribed 🤗

Since your channel focuses on how, I'm not going to criticize the "what/design" choices made by the clientele 😅
Really, really nice work. Agree with the other commenter -- your narration is very well done: you explain the right things, keep it moving, and highlight the work. Wish my crews were as thoughtful as you were here. Well done.
Super awesome ^_^
You do things right, I'd definitely hire you if I could afford you lol
There are so many contractors who don't do good jobs.
Great job. Loved your level of detail in your workmanship.
this is exactly what I am wanting to do in my bathroom and you just happen to be local to me :):)
Nice Job. Nothing like a running the marathon alone, always a bigger pot of gold at the end.👏👏👏
Great work, just don't get the subway tile! Guess the customer gets what they wants... I would have stuck with the grey, too each their own.
first time watching u.
Thanks.
it would have been nice if you had answered the question instead of just liking it
I would bet that is one thing the homeowners regretted.
Thank you!!
damn imagine being able to do this, it takes great skill.
patience!
Great video. My wife is wanting to convert a garden tub to a walk in shower. I hope I can do half as good as this one. A lot of my questions were answered in this video. Thanks.
