Okay, so let me get this straight. You’re a contractor that does tiling, plumbing, framing, painting, cabinetry, and electrical?? Dude, you’re like a unicorn!!!!
Don’t forget drywall, trim, doors, flooring, and concrete. Haha. I’m learning to sub out more pieces for efficiency though.
@@ZEMConstruction do you travel??
General contractors usually do all there is to do in construction
@Tyler as long as you have the plumbing and electrical licenses to do the work, otherwise any failure is not covered!!!!!
As long as you are pulling permits of course
This is one of the most PROFESSIONAL jobs I've seen on YT. You cleaned as you went along. And everything was done purposefully and with care! Well done!
How can you get excited by such a low level of work? It looks like a home amateur job.
@@michaszajkowski5322 shame on you for saying that. What makes you a judge of quality workmanship?
@@maureenshima9771 just a troll never mind him
@@justingrant4860 some people with nothing better to do.
Michał Szajkowski Lets see your work then. This was done with love and craftsmanship. Maybe you don’t like the design choices, but that isn’t the focus.
So watching your yt video I cant believe that there is someone else on this Earth that is a craftsman at every level start to finish. I myself have sought to be professional level at everything between excavation to shingles. Few will realize the passion and commitment it takes to know the professional level of application of all trades to complete a project such as this with forethought from rough-in to finish, all trades in one. I have over 35 years in mastering the application of multiple trades to accomplish a fine, functional, quality, finish that customers marvel at....Sir I marvel at you and your forethought and set up for the finish...I’m not alone! Thank you!
It is so refreshing to see somebody else who takes the time to take pride in the little things not just the big ones and keep the job site clean, think you could give me a run for my money. Bravo!!!
Why can’t more contractors be this professional and care in their work. Great job!
You pay what you get. Cheaper contractors try to get the job as fast and cheap as possible.
Cost and time. Most would rather do more jobs at a cheaper price. Also more customers would pay for the lesser options than the more expensive ones.
In the US we have a Quantity/Cost driven economy and general mindset. We prefer to have things cheap and plentiful over the best quality. This is terrible in the long run as all it ends up doing is making things break down faster and nothing really ends up lasting or standing up to the test of time. But like the previous comments have mentioned you get what you pay for.
Why don’t you attempt to do the job yourself and find out ? Until you’ve attempted several of these things or that’s all you do it isn’t easy.
@@superduperkid3143 That's not the true reason though. As someone who hired contractors and ended up hating the job, would have gladly paid an extra 30% to have this guy instead. The problem is I couldn't find anyone like this guy. Most of them are just greedy GCs who don't actually do the work and sub it out. They also charge ridiculous amounts already. If you know anything about construction type of job (whether it's remodeling, HVAC, or other home improvement areas), you would know the ridiculously fat the margin in. I have a good friend in HVAC, and he confirms over 50%, and sometimes up to 70-80% of the price you pay for say a new AC is in labor. If you paid $4K for an AC, the AC itself may just cost somewhere around $1.5K and you are paying the guys $2.5K for 3-4 hours of labor. The same thing can go for these remodeling work. These GCs will sub out the tile work for like $500 and pocket the other $800.
Holy cow!, how many different colors and textures were used in this little bathroom...
Makes me wonder if they bought left overs. The subway tile pushed it over the top. 5 different tiles. Could have left the skinny tiles out also. Impressive workmanship. Thanks for the video.
Why would they go with the 80s style ceiling texture again? I guess they wanted to match the rest of the house but still, it would have been fine to do the washroom without it.
@@barrellcooper6490 Maybe, but he said the homeowners were excited to see all the different styles and textures. It's like they looked at some home reno magazines and decided to take all the current design trends and throw them together. The fact that they elected to put the 80s texture back on the ceiling makes me think they just don't have any taste.
Lol when u go down the tile aisle and your eyes get really big😂
Bathroom titles and design is ugly asf
This is the best anthropomorphic remodel I have ever seen!
This guy is professional AF.
My back and knees are literally aching after watching how much work this took! I'm blown away by how talented this contractor is. The homeowner is very fortunate to have had such a knowledgeable craftsman who did EVERYTHING right to ensure a long-lasting, quality installation. That is VERY rare today. Whatever price was charged, they got a bargain.
I love your attention to detail. This is how I would want contractors to do my home, instead of a quick and cheap job. True professional.
I would NOT mind to pay for this job, the guy deserves it !!
The intelligent and well behaved attitude from this guy is key. Very well.
I'm so very proud of you!! I built houses w my x husband (carpenter all his life). We did it all from footer to bringing house up off slab, to roof, to all the inside and outside. Now, I find dating is hard for me cuz most men don't like doing projects and hate that I know so much hahaha. Here's a laugh for you. Guy I dated had old ceiling foam tiles falling down in one big room, with exposed insulation & you could see the underside of roof. So if figured out what I needed him to buy, came up with a plan and told him I'd meet him at his house. I got there before he did. So I jumped on in ripping down ceiling removing all trim etc. I was nearly done when he got to his house. HE FREAKED! He had so many panic attacks.hahaha He was like OMG YOUR LIKE A TORNADO AND NEVER ALLOWED ME TIME TO THINK IT OVER. I told him I think after him not fixing it in 15 years...he had enough "thinking" time.lol I got it all finished out and he has a beautiful wood ceiling in there now but lawdy mercy he was a nervous cat about it. Still good friends but now he knows when I say a project only takes a few hours...that what it really means is at least 1 to 3 days, or more. 🤣 🤣
I enjoyed the talk over a time lapse. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm and your craft.
As a professional contractor myself, I can appreciate all of the little things you did in this bathroom redo. Really great job and attention to detail. If this is the way you work regularly, I'm sure you're a busy guy. Nicely done!
Thank you!! I have been very busy and been getting more so as time goes on.
Do you need a permit to make the changes done in this video and have the city come out to see what you have done?
@@numbahone1434 its a state to state thing, in the state i live in about 8 years ago they said you don't need it. You see people get crappy work done a lot but its super cheap, and then I get called to come fix it :D
15 years in tile here. Great job dude
You are a true professional. Our contractor did not waterproof our shower like you did this shower, our grout is crumbling and our tile is cracking after only 1.5 years of having it done. Thank you for showing us how a bathroom should be tiled the right way, we are going to have to retile our bathroom and shower. Too bad you don't live in Salt Lake City Utah.
i was in the tile industry for a very long time, selling, designing, educating and some installing, very nice attention to the prep work and to the details of tile install. It is great to see someone who really care about the quality of their work, even the things that people can't see when the job is done.
I never knew that one person could do everything....AMAZING!!!
As a youtuber and a professional gamer, I really enjoyed this video, it was incredible.
Durock is the best way💯been doing remodels and new homes for 25 yrs .
I didn’t see one comment that some jackass was telling you how you should of done something. Great job young man. Keep it up!!!
Well Ofcourse, he literally did everything right.
Damn you've done an incredible job of documenting and narrating everything. This is exactly the type of things I'm looking for regarding renovations. Of course, I don't do this for my own projects...
AS A FELLOW REMODEL GUY , I APPROVE THIS VIDEO.
That grey tile should be the whole bathroom imo. Looks amazing tho still. Great job dude. You're top tier without a doubt
I can't believe I sat through this whole video but totally worth it. Makes me respect you guys a lot more and the attention to detail is amazing! Great work man!
Wonderful work!!!! And Thank you sooo very much for NOT putting in ads. It's annoying to get interrupted while watching an educational video you're really interested in. Your work is awesome.
Nice Job. Nothing like a running the marathon alone, always a bigger pot of gold at the end.👏👏👏
Come to Georgia and do my bathroom. I appreciate your attention to detail and willingness to make it public.
Great Job. However, I always install the niches behind the half walls. Niches look great when empty. Homeowners regret having niches visible after they start putting all their bottles. The subway tile looks off with the design, but that's the owner's choice. Also I like to install the shower handle behind the half wall so you can open the shower from the outside and avoid getting wet.
Came here to say everything you did. That subway tile is hideous and something that someone *gets renovated. 5 different tiles in a bathroom is too much.
Great job man, thanks for sharing. Your professionalism and attention to detail is to be commended. Keep up the good work! (you have a new subscriber)
Omg the most professional job i have ever seen. My contractor told me he cannot move the toilet so its twin with the vanity
Your doing a great job...but the faster you learn another method you will be glad you did. I used to do it that way, lots of work. Schluter foam board is great! Hang it, cover the joints and waterproofed. No more down days for pan liners or coats of red guard. The schluter work shop is great too.
I was super curious about Schluter, but after watching the Tile Coach videos. It makes me nervous. Because it calls for thin-set to seal the joints, but thin set isn’t waterproof right?
@@ZEMConstruction its really tough to explain. It involves capillary action. Its all in the installer. The way you are doing it is still very good....just labor intensive. Go to a work shop or check out sal on you tube. He explains it so well. I havent had any issues with any showers we have put in, and that's both ways.
Love how everything came together in this bathroom great job
Yes, I watched the whole 35 plus mins. Great job and very good video!
Didn't even noticed it was that long. Normally I skip or stop watching but I couldn't wit this one... watched it all, he did a wonderful job!
I do not believe most folk have short attention spans. I watch plenty of content that is 2 or 3 hours long. It is so much more satisfying getting into detail.
Two Words. Beautifully Done!!
This dude is flash Gordon of bathroom remodeling. he literally remodeled a whole bathroom in 35 mins.
Wow you are an amazing carpenter. I wish more people took the time and cared about their work like you do.
Fabulous video! I'm DIYing my powder room, no construction, just design upgrades and probably why RUclips recommended your video. I can't believe you did this by yourself! Your thoroughness and attention to detail is inspiring. Your work is Next Level. Your production format is such a welcome change; no loud music making it very hard to hear the voice over ( I find your voice very calming), no ads interrupting every 5 minutes, which says you aren't primarily selling something with the content being secondary to that. So back to your work. So much I had no clue about! Now I understand why certain things are done because you showed us and explained. So much to appreciate here. Thank you for sharing your phenomenal skills and making your videos. New subscriber here.
Thank you so much! Good luck on your project!
Weirdly enough, youtube brought me here... I'm from Singapore and that toilet resembles my toilet @ home, haha
Everything except the vanity.. Wonderful ain't it
You're hired.... great level of detail. Most other pros should watch this!!!!
awesome conversion, professional work, good homeowner involvement -- a masterpiece all around!
Great freaking job! Thanks for the detailed explanations as well.
I've been a tile installer for 20 years it's rare that a carpenter can install that well. Good job!! A little constructive criticism stop using them home Depot materials find yourself a good distributor. Wedi, Schluter, Laticrete. Ardex S1k or 8+9 puts red guard to shame. Laticrete TRI lite is a killer mud ide recommend trying some. Also for the pebbles I like an epoxy grout like spectra lock pro. Great job and keep up the great work.
Gotta say it. YOU ARE D MAN!!! Awesome job my Friend.
This was so satisfying to watch. This turned out beautiful!!
Love your attention to detail and extra precautions... Outstanding work looks Beautiful
amazing that you do all the plumbing and electrical too... which im sure works out better in the end because none of the installs change or interfere with each other
Dude you are a god of finish construction!! I’m a trim carpenter and am looking up to everything I just watched you do and explain!! Your inspiration man!
Dude you are an amazing craftsman. That is gorgeous and thoughtful workmanship.
A true professional. Wish you lived in Nashville
That's a very clean/professional job, sir. Respect.
Brother, you have gained a following from this guy. The detail you have provided is a great help. Now, I’m going to put a little fire underneath our contractor. May have to start over, but that is his fault.
You have definitely restored the confidence in honest contractors! Thank you for your professionalism and personal input.
Your work ethic is to be admired. Giving the homeowner their dream bathroom, with a flawless installation. Great job.
Good job. Kudos for doing the plumbing, electrical, and mudding too. Not many guys can do that project alone. Talented guy.
Literally the same way we do our restrooms!!! Great job! Great prep! Great all around! I am like you. When a customer adds different tile j always second guess but then after the grout it always turns out to be nice!
Excellent work, Practical Application. Very Professional. Hats off to you
This is flawless ! Great ideas for my mater bath remod.
That brown door kills the vibe
I love it when the customer pre-arranges the tile pieces out in the garage exactly how they want it installed on the floor! Especially when you come in to work that morning and are told how hard they worked staying up all night arranging every piece. Glad i knew this before I quoted the job.
You are definitely a perfectionist. Your workmanship is absolutely GREAT and you cut NO corners. I wish you were in my area to do my remodel project.
This is an amazing job! Really enjoyed the time lapse voice over 😊
That’s a huge shower! I’d forget that half wall and make it a no-step-in floor - perfect for wheel chair, walker access if ever needed ( knee replacements, hip replacements, ankle surgery etc do happen!)
Yes, good idea. When I was living in Australia the bathrooms all had drainage in the bathroom floor as well. When I remodel, that is something I am going to add.
Beautiful....tile setter to another tile setter ! Pure art
This project turned out awesome. We love to use those Halo lights too. We've been using them literally everywhere. And they're dimmable which is a huge plus
Omg I’m exhausted just watching this LOL, nice job!!
I do this work daily also and I can truely appreciate the time and the planning that goes into this . Excellent job on your prep work .
I love the style of this shower. Looks easy to clean and maintain as well.
Great work man, great detail. Really shows the excess craftsmanship needed to have a wonderful finish product. You performed a ton of tasks as a one man operation very skillfully. Jack of all trades!
Great work💪🏼
Makes me want to do a full tear down on my bathroom
Man great job! Super smart design, can’t believe that’s the same bathroom.
Great job. Loved your level of detail in your workmanship.
I’m a builder and just love the tutorial you give with the time frames between mud drying and starting the concrete work. Quality video mate. I’ve learned a lot and it’s given me the confidence to do my own before I offer this service out. Also have you got the link for the new tile setting system you mentioned? Well done and thank you.
You do great work! I haven’t seen the aluminum corner detail before- it (as well as the grout) really lend well to tying all the pattern variations together! A VERY clean pseudo-industrial look. I really like the trend lately. Mainly due to my gravitation toward grayscale- but I am anxious for some change. Seems like 30 kitchens and baths were spawned by the same 😈designer. 😆 Very, VERY nice work, thank you for sharing!
Really like the time lapse!! Great job, and got some great ideas on how to finish my garden tub to walk in shower remodel that I have just started. I will have to relocate the drain, and put in the slope for the floor, which goes in first!! Thanks
great video. I wish more folks would use time lapse. Great audio quality as well. Liked all the detailed comments along the way.
Man I been doing this work for 20 years and you do a great professional job, looks great...just wish the tile was not four different looks 🤮but hey home owner is always rite !!!
This was the most professional work I have ever in terms of bathroom modelling! Bloody hell, I'd pick you in a heartbeat if I lived there. Not the fan of the bathroom design itself but your work is simply superb
How much would it cost to redo a small bathroom?
@@dottiegriggs6706 There are too many factors in a re-do to give any general price. Get a few contractors - there are some who specialize in kitchen and bath remodels, and get quotes from them. *If they run into structural issues etc after starting, this will raise the costs significantly, so have a buffer in your budget. Also, get in writing exactly what they are doing and supplying (are you buying the tile or are they? Etc.). Compare apples to apples. Your location will also determine costs - NYC vs small town USA. I'm sure there are other things to consider, but it may give a starting point if you are serious about doing this. Peace.

I f*****g love that you clean up all the time. I hate to work with crap everywhere. Fantastic job
the home owners sure had guts to design their bathroom specifically to incorporate all these different tile patterns, I'll give them that. awesome job on your part.
I applaud you for being A one man band. Very impressive.
What a professional! Kudos to you for being so caring and conscientious!! Geat work!
Really impressed with the quality of work
Great job! 👍👍👍 I am a PRO as well (one man show like you) and not once did I hear/see someone mention (on YT) the man-hours invested in a project like this. Here its especially interesting since same person has don ALL the work. It would help in bringing clarification to future customers and internet know-alls to grasp the scope and of course ... the cost. Humanity nowadays expects everything done by a swipe/click of a finger. You obviously got understanding and ready to help type of a customer, like with lining up tiles in exact order in their garage. Good luck #ZEMConstruction with your future projects and all the best. 😎

Just wanted to say. EXELLENT JOB.
What I wouldn't give to have learned how to do all this stuff when I was growing up.
Instead, they thought you social studies, right?
Man, i was in high school learning all construction, the Monday we were going back to school to learn and practice plumbing, electrical schools closed.
