- This is a hike in the northwest corner of Yellowstone National Park. On this hike I saw a lot of wildlife as usual. This is a great day hike for anyone that wants to see beautiful country along with lots of wildlife including bear. This hike was 9.5 miles and 2150 vertical feet. Part of the last half of the hike is off trail to go in areas that the grizzly bears will be hanging out during mid day. But remember that you can also see them on the trail during early morning. The grizzly bear in this video was videoed from the top of the mountain; the bear was down in the green field below. You can expect to see people and horses on the first half of the trail during mid day.

How incredibly beautiful...
Thank you Stan for making these videos.it's a great big beautiful country that we live in,love the mountains and wild life.
Your like the everready battery bunny....you keep going and going... I really enjoy your hikes.👍
I enjoyed our morning walk. Thanks
Teepee Creek is known for its health bear population. Looks like that's still the case. Thanks for the video, Stan.
Another beautiful hike, thank you so much, I enjoy every one you post.
"Bear Attractant"...That's funny
I enjoy your videos and seeing the back country through your lens. I saw the same helicopter last Wednesday. We were up from GA visiting Yellowstone. Thanks again.
Thanks for sharing your passion and talent. I LOVE all of your videos I've seen so far. I love the outdoors. Your videos are educational, as you've represented them. But they also therapeutic. I'm able to view the things I love and love to do vicariously through your videos. I hope after me full-time job commitment is done (in not too many years) that I'll be able to more of first-hand viewing in the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem. Not to say I don't get out some, because I try to live my passions along the way and not just live in the future. Thanks again!
Great hike, I would love to join you sometime!
Great Hike Stan. Love Teepee Creek and your camera work is remarkable! Feels like hiking along instead of watching a film...
Thanks Stan.....once again a beautiful hike in the wilds of Yellowstone.....stay safe out there!
Wow, what a beautiful hike! Those views are so breathtaking! I really love all the wildflowers. I’m hoping I’ll be brave enough to do some of this trail in a few weeks 😱. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures!
Do you did the hike? I’m planning my second trip to Yellowstone .thank you .
@@derbywinner6316 we were sadly not able to make the trip. Too many family emergencies arose. So maybe this fall we’ll make it🤞
Amazing tour, thank you!😉🇨🇦
Thank you once again Mr. Mills.
Looks amazing. Wish I could go
Always wonderful to see your hikes. I am not that brave! I love this comment somebody posted: " Was the bell in a pile of scat? 😄😉".
I love watching the wild life out in the wild.
Beautiful Stan, Thank you😊
Thanks for sharing. Sure enjoy your hikes.
First time I have ever heard hesitance in your voice- when you found that grizzly's trail. Lol I would have retraced my steps and left immediately.lol
Thank you.
Stan, I believe you like a little adventure; it is not fun when you can't outmaneuver a grizzly who is waiting to eat you! Gives us the willies at home just watching you. Take care, thank you and we enjoy it much! :)
Great video as usual Stan. You must be getting lots of moisture up there as that grass and wildflowers were quite tall. Thanks for sharing your hike. Blessings!
Hah, hah!! Yeah I never understood why people use those bells either!! Great video Stan!! Thanks!!
Yes, the bear 🐻 attractant comment was entertaining! I am amazed that you haven’t had an interaction with a grizzly. So many people do have confrontations...you must be doing something right!! Beautiful. And, as always, thank you so much 😊! The serenity is so nice during these mixed-up times.
No, not many people have grizzly confrontations, though that is a popular misconception. Our man Stan knows the country well. In all of his videos he's only come close to bears a handful of times and never had a confrontation, and most of them with the bear departing even before Stan arrives. That is the norm. I also hike alone but have my head on a swivel, don't walk silently, and carry 2 bears sprays. The whole idea is to minimize surprising a bear, or any other large mammal.
walt Durling You hear of people walking along not aware they are near cubs, and mom comes storming out, or encountering a Caracas with a bear nearby.
guarding it. And Stan is such a quiet hiker. Love going on his hikes. but I am on alert, that’s for sure! Thanks for your input!
Great vistas from that ridge trail...!
Thanks!
Wow must be nice to decide to take a walk and see all of that
Thanks, Stan.
You are a brave soul! Be safe.
Awesome places, Greetings from Italy
Different bulls from different seasons..Nice bulls though.
Stan: Love your videos. What is the bear activity like this time of year in the southern Coyote Creek/ Hellroaring area?
Have you done Bacon Rind or Porcupine Creek?
Teepee Creek is a beautiful one. Seeing the trail brought back memories.
Teepee Creek appears to be loaded with wildlife. How far were you from the Bull moose when he spotted you? Beautiful! Thanks for taking us aong.
100 yard.
Great hike! Do you always walk quietly? Do you carry bear spray? Thanks for sharing!
A gun
Thanks for the videos!!! It's the first thing I do every morning... check for a new Stan Mills video!! The video and the audio have been my constant background while telecommuting the last 3.5 months... :)
Another beautifully edited video, Stan. Do you think that the wildlife, especially the grizzly, can tell that you’re a human that they don’t need to be concerned about? I would think that they’re aware of your presence , yet they don’t need to be too concerned. What are your thoughts as you’re hiking in their territory?
Well, you've done it again! Thanks for taking me along over trails I can no longer travel.
Oh, and by the way, give the bears all the space they need!
I was a park ranger naturalist in Yellowstone1970-71, I’m surprised with all the hiking in Yellowstone you’ve done , that you’ve not been surprised by an attack. I applaud your courage/precaution but still it seems a law of averages that it will happen. I hope not, since I like have enjoyed the back country as you do. Thanks
B C, don,t you and other people drive cars every day. With your “law of averages” theory it’s like you are saying to yourself “sooner or later I will be killed in an auto accident because the law of averages are against me”. Sorry, I don’t buy into that kind of wisdom. I don’t think God created his beautiful and inviting world and then say “oh by the way, don’t go out there because I put grizzly bears out there”. God can give the wisdom that you need to be at peace with his creation and the wild animals will be at peace with you. Listen to God and not the so called experts. I am not trying to tell you how to think, I am just suggesting there may be a different way to think about things. But that thinking can only come from God. With all the years of experience that you have and with wisdom that God can give you, you can be totally free out there in His wonderful creation. There is no “law of averages”. Thank you for all of your comments.
@@StanMills Stan, God helps those who help themselves and He will not do your job for you! Use your head and do the best you can. That is all any of us can do! A man in church is not safer than a man in a rowdy bar. There are bad people everywhere even in the house of God. , as we have seen lately. If you cross an angry bear mama with cubs 100 prayers won't do you any good. The last thing you hear will be God saying:" Dang Dan! You knew this mama could be there; there are bear-signs out here! What are you dong on that mountain alone?"
Stan Mills Amen and amen. We can live respecting nature and not fearing it and trust God for the outcome.
How are the ticks and chiggers?
It seems there are two Teepee Creeks in the area. One is just west of the park boundary in Montana and it runs down to US 191 just north of where US 287 branches off. And there is also a Teepee Creek and trailhead northwest of the park, which enters the Gallatin River right at US 191 near a place called Middle Basin. I guess you were in that Teepee Creek that is farther north, but that creek does not seem to enter the park, so I'm confused.
You are correct. This is Teepee creek on the northwest corner of the park. If you hike to the ridge like I showed you then you can follow that trail to the park boundary like I showed. You can stay on that trail and it will put you onto the Sky Rim trail.
@@StanMills thanks!
Was the bell in a pile of scat? 😄😉
Isn't it Obvious I was thinking, “Bear ate the diner, didn’t care for the dinner bell. 🤮
The meadows...Eden.
5:09, the gray bird, something in the corvid family?
Clark's Nutcracker, and yes in the Corvid family.
Boy you sure do know how to find them. I've hiked Tee Pee a 100 times and never seen a bear out there. Maybe cause I take my dogs and don't get out there until about 10:00 am.I know you started at 5:00 am but what time was it when you saw the bears later in the hike?
Scott, I did look at the time when the grizzly went into the trees and stayed, it was 10 AM. The second bear, I think it was a black bear, was close to the junction that takes you over to Daly, would have been around 11AM so that is one you could have seen.
@@StanMills Thanks for the response Stan. I typically head towards Daily at the junction because its the path less traveled. Of course we turn around at the Park boarder with the dogs.
that's the punchline of a joke describing the difference between black bear poo and grizzly poo
I see a lot of dead trees.........................................
Wonder how many bears are guesstimated to be in yellow Stone
Here is some more information on Grizzlies www.nps.gov/yell/learn/nature/grizzlybear.htm. And on black bears www.nps.gov/yell/learn/nature/black-bear.htm. 728 grizzly bears and an undetermined number of black bears.
Do you think the helicopter was checking to see if you had your mask on?
Bear Country- Use Precaution... But NOT a fire arm as those are bad and no one should have a fire arm. WTF is wrong with this country?
