Guy Soared like a Condor for sure ! Got to be one of the smoothed vert riders ever ! He Brought Hardcore to 80s bmx scene and was the guy that invented big air and some of the toughest vert tricks ever 😎
Matt Hoffman’s a cool guy. I met him at B.S. comp #1 1994 in Moreno Valley, CA and he let my friend and I take a pic with him. We were just teenagers. 🤙
I was there at this championship. I remember very well that he was injured. To be able to sign autographs, he had to pull up is right arm with his other hand !!! Because of this, he didn't rode much (if at all), and this ride is all the more impressive.
The Condor , this is pre flair backflip . I remember getting GO magazine witch in turn use to be Freestyler magazine when Matt did the back flip 180 in the UK for the first time . All my friends thought it was impossible for the pros of that day to do it , there was a dude that did it pre Matt Hoffman for the movie RAD I can picture him but can’t remember his name . I remember after this Matt was trying to perfect the flair & finally he did , he was a GOD to all of use after that . Back in them days it was called a backflip 180 not a flair .
@SchwarzGelbBorussia Well,I asked because I´m brazilian,Fugazzi akmost known from to Brazil,I hear this band across Joao Gordo program....he played very much Fugazzi and just now I begun to ear.Thank you, dude!
@cypressride Thank you man,I thought it was Bad Brains, this band has two music in game Matt Hofman, alreadt I listen about Fugazzi, but I´m not specialized this band,I must to know more. What´s name the song?
Yes we did! I still see kids bikes today and think,,,how in the hell they ride those. Lol so ise to my bikes from the 80's we rode dirt, flatland and ramp with high seats that had laid back posts and bars pushed a little forward and our foot pegs were destroyed on a regular :)
trying to remember the name of that french town. maybe limoges or something. all i remember is having no money (after stopping off in amsterdam) and filming this on my vhs camera which i still have. i've lost the vid though. i think tim bone is to blame
@SchwarzGelbBorussia Thank you dude!Did you know I begun Fugazzi? One person answer me,you said the music name......I´m liking to ear Fugazzi,I don´t kwow right. Now I´ll go research this song, thank you dude.
@ollieroks I'll agree with you on Mike pulling the 900 first, just not in a comp, but I'll disagree with the tailwhip. ARe you referring to Mike's tailwhip flyout at the King of the Skateparks in 1985? If so, he didn't pull it clean. I was sitting right next to Joe Johnson in New Jersey in ramp practice when he nailed the first tailwhip air.
its because we have more techy tricks that cause us to do that. the tricks in this vid are the simpler type of tricks. and people ride no brakes because it gets in the way when you do barspins and no handers.
Mike Dominguez pulled the first 900 and tail whip air. Matt just pulled it in front of the cameras. Mike almost in 87. Look up 101 tricks click on the pick of the big blue ramp and you will see he almost did it. Mike D will be your new hero.
I bet it's wrote Hoffma_NN_ not Hoffma_N_, cuz my lastname is Hoffmann, comes from german, translated: Hoff = Court and Mann = Man, Man = the word "man" presents the sentence's passive form, when the author is unknown.
Most likely it was decided by someone at Ellis Island. I knew a guy that went through with his brother in separate lines, one immigration agent gave his brother the spelling of Cigrand, my friend got his permanently spelled Zigrand.
he was "our" hero back in the days and now look how this sport have evolved since than! amazing

THIS man was no joke to the sport.......

Before the flare was invented
He pulled the first one in 1990, I was in the crowd.
he likes the air better then the ground
he's got a pair of 86redline forklifts on his bike...he must like those bars
Holwy S*4%^ why am I crying?!?!?!
