I would like to see him portray a modern day character. Similar to Mel Gibson in What Women Want or Nicholas Cage in Family Man but with current day topics, scenery, clothing and props.
Since the first moment I've seen him in the 'light bearness of being' I was totally fascinated. Never seen something like him before. Still can't figure out where all this charme, mysterious, provocative personality is coming from. Acting is so challenging for him, he comes to the level to let us observe the personal journeys he is taking through the roles, trying to find himself through the interprentation of the different characters/roles. Journeys that can make you crazy. I love him. And hope he is well.
He answered fairly early on really, he's crafted this character, why not hang out there for a while, spend some time as somebody else and as a result he does the best job possible. He gets given a colouring book and when he's completed the one he's been given he draws his own from what he's learned & felt and colours that one in too. Great artists are what they do.
Day Louis is a sensational actor and Rose, is this instance, is not as pretentious and interrupting as he can be, but there was still something lacking in this interview. I found a bunch of it mysterious, like who is the third person present, and what do the circuitous conversations actually mean?
To make as few a films as Sir Daniel has in last 20 years or so, you have to give VERY good performances for people to have any interest. Plus to be in great films helps. But most actors for whatever reason make films all the time and I wonder if other actors made as many movies as Daniel Day Lewis would be looked at in the same way? Imagine if Pacino or De Niro made just a handful of the films they have made and we only saw a select few incredible performances. Whilst I know DDL backs up his gaps between films by making and creating incredible performances, I wonder what actor he would be if he did do what most actors do and that is make lot of movies
He invests so much into a role, the guy simply has to take long breaks. It's just takes a toll on him. Also he says that he wants to do other things besides acting to fill up his well again so to speak. You can say the opposite why doesn't actors do what he does?
He stays in character to give the best performance in a movie, which he does.

Yeesh! What the hell for?? What Women Want is utter fluff. And it was only 2000, not 1942.
how about no, thanks....would like to continue seeing him do good movies.

thanks charlie!
Has there ever been a director correcting him or telling that he doesn't like his take on a character ?
19:20 he turns into Bill for a few seconds, FASCINATING.

Ah a Pagan Daniel, like myself . ⛰🍂🌌
Che te ne fai di Mel Gibson o Nickolas Cage? Daniel guoca in un altro campionato!!!
Daniel kind of overdoes. Let's AI Phil Hoffman.
Not sure what that even means. I could just as easily say Hoffman plays the same character a lot, so where's the range?
Acting-schmacting. Has he made any shoes yet?
