I'm a new lifter, so I just bought the westside book and followed it. Its really amazing how much Dave and Louie know. Their wealth of knowledge is incomparable.

I've been powerlifting competitively for 15 plus years now and thought I'd heard it all tried it all etc. in the early and mid 2000's I lived west side. The older I've gotten now progress doesn't come as quickly as it once had no matter what the program. After you said push as though you're pushing away from the bar not the bar away from you I've tried it for the past month and I can't believe what it's done for my bench and I can't believe as I said before something so minor and all the articles and seminars I've been too I've never caught that before. Thank u. On another quick note I heard that Louie now runs much more volume on his dynamic days than the 8x3 like I was always accustomed to as well, any truth to this that u know of? Apparently he changed his philosophy and decided that the old way of 8x3 wasn't enough workload to stimulate the benefit he is looking for? I questioned my training partner who told me this since its been the way it's been for so many years but he swears

damn...the deload thing really hit me...i was allways shocked that for example when i went from 5x5 to 5x3 as the weight went up, the jump was never like "oh thats way easier now"...it was just as hard as before, but with lower volume...maybe thats that

i feel the same at warming up - sometimes the last warm up set feels heavier then a working l set and i assume thats because of focus and effort

I needed to hear his thoughts on the mentality for a deload week.

Conventional, '3X5 at 50%' deloads are slightly redundant, IMO.
I'd rather just do like 1-2 sets at a moderate RPE.

Bob Jenkins doesn’t matter about the weights, you can also use deload week to perfect your form

It seems you're very passionate and emotional about making videos... Let me know if you're being held against your will and being forced to make these.
