Funny thing is, one of the latest and strongest brakers MotoGP has seen, Andrea Dovizioso, actually rarely ever dangles his leg or does any of the crazy movements on the bike. He's rock solid on the brakes and the bike is almost never out of shape, and it is said, if they pass Dovi on the brakes at one of his stronger tracks, it's guaranteed they won't make the apex.
@@gabrielms4625 Lorenzo was never strong on brakes, lol. He was smooth but an early brake user. Valentino and Dovi are the late brake expert. Valentino invented the leg dangle.
Mike is awesome, just absolutely awesome. Where he sees so much going on and I only see racing His attention to all the finest of detail is like going to college . Thanks Mike 😊
Amazing like always... I want to be a motorcycle racing pilot in the future and your videos are amazing and I am pretty sure I will have a headstart when I get to swing a leg around a motorcycle for the first time. Tysm for these videos!
Had a buddy buy one when Aprillia sold their racing bikes. Man that thing was fun to ride. Slow on the way up the mountain but hard to keep up with on the way down. Even chasing him on a liter bike.
Hey Mike! Firstly, your rs250 is mint, best studio prop ever. I’ve heard that snapping the throttle shut by letting go entirely is I’ll advised and that flicking it shut while maintaining contact is preferable. I know it seems like a minor detail, but these things are complicated, especially when dealing with a control with two degrees of freedom. What do you think? Thanks, Chad
just guessings -i would say the dangle is also a psychic effect, while mountainbiking i nearly always dangled the inside for that moment when the rear slips (also the dirtbikers and sumo), and i also do it on sudden unexpected braking on the street and theres nothing i can do about it, and also watching the smoke when some soultouch the ground im pretty sure it helps for deceleration if you look at the timings these days
One silly doubt from the old vid on how to slide the rear end before entering a corner and braking hard. For eg when i tried to downshift from 4th gear to the second and when i drop the clutch, there's a "clunk" noise from the gear box, is that normal? Or am i hurting the gearbox?
Also when a tire is straight up if you mesure how much the tire does contact with the grounds, and measuring it when you start to lean, you’ll notice that theirs more contact patch with the grounds than when straight, I’m not saying when your on full lean of course, but anyone’s with little knowledge of riding will understand.👍👍. And not on racetracks but simply on streets, I do kinda such a thing with the leg, but it’s simply the release the stress on the knee that is when feet’s on footpegs, always bend thigh. 👍👍
Maybe motorcycle pilots should cleat into their machines like racing bicyclists, and just pull up or down to change gears and apply the brake. Would make foot dangling more difficult.
just downshifting, using a pronounced movement to subconsciously count down to the required gear for the turn so you don't have to look at the display.
@@DumbledoreMcCracken I know it's an old thread, but seriously... Have you discovered "rocker" shift levers yet? OR is it purely the kind of disgusting tech' that needs to stay with Harley Davidsons and the "Cruiser" types??? ;o)

Its not against that law to look this damn good anymore?
Proposition 2DG passed in November. Legalize it, bro.
Leg dangle also helps protect your lines

Also, is that RS250 yours? Looks absolutely amazing! I would love to get one some day, the price has gone wayyyy up over there though.

Mike I wonder how you would perform in an actual MotoGP bike, you always do a lot of videos involving motogp, anyway your videos are helpfull too.
What you haven't seen him in motogp?
Watch sylvain guintoli videos on actual application on motogp/superbikes as he really rides them in real life.
@@ardijanuar2036 Yeah I know him, been watching all his videos
Ok better now, great informative video
What is the proper way to downshift before corner entry?
great video..
Hey Mike need some help with go pro mounts. They keep shattering when I tighten them 😭. How do you keep yours put?
GReat as always Mike! I Could have used a little more time per step to fully understand what is being said though. Any way, thanks.

I believe your only supposed to downshift one gear at a time.
hi Mike, thanks alot for your video, great content. can you make english subtitle for foreigner easy to understand, please!
great vid. 2:35-2:40 is mesmerizing
leg out just looks cool as hell too
Moto gp riders are awesome 😍👌🏻
Not as "awesome" as road racers I'm afraid - even Valentino himself said as much.
Super moto riders are 💥
