This is the most famous, unfinished, opera and the song belongs to Pavarotti! There never will be another like him. His transition from note to note, octave to octave, is like silk. Thank you for respecting the artist and not interrupting a beautiful song.
Indeed, "Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's opera "Turandot" is a masterpiece, and Luciano Pavarotti's rendition is legendary. His unparalleled talent and ability to convey emotion through his voice are truly remarkable. It's a privilege to listen to such a beautiful performance without interruption. Pavarotti's legacy as one of the greatest tenors of all time will always be remembered and cherished. Grazie mille for sharing your appreciation! 🎶👏
A great Masterpiece to react to. Little fact about this performance. For this Masterpiece that is under 4 minutes long, the Great Luciano received a 20 minute standing ovation!!! As well as that. Although Luciano has passed from this mortal realm & gone to Heaven, he is not there resting. God hired him to teach the Celestial choir to better sing with such majesty & beauty. It's true.
He sang this Aria many times in his career but this was his greatest performance ever. Look at his face he knew he had made history. He received a 20 minute standing ovation. He is missed so much. If you want to see the difference watch his last performance it will break your heart. He knew he was dying but still gave a 100% despite his condition
It's incredible how he managed to leave such a lasting impact with this performance. His expression says it all! The 20-minute standing ovation speaks volumes about the impact he had on everyone. It's heartbreaking to think about his last performance, but it's a testament to his dedication and passion till the very end.
Luciano Pavarotti Sang this Aria many times in his career. However you just witnessed his best performance of of this particular Aria. . Thank you for showing your amazement at the greatest tenor ever. Sadly we lost him to Pancreatic Cancer in September 2007. You should read his life story it will amaze you
The amount of pressure in that mans head on that last bit, I bet it took a second or two for his sight to clear. It's beautiful and stunning. Thank you for all the goosebumps, Luciano, RIP.
I enjoyed watching your reactions to this amazing performance.....it touches EVERYONE who hears it. I share in our collective standing ovation to the great Luciano Pavarotti!
I always think there is hope for humanity when I listen to this..That humans can imagine it, write it, produce and sing it...we are all capable of great things
A credit to this performance is the audience, who paid huge sums of money to see and hear "The Three Tenors", arguably the three greatest tenors EVER, but probable the three greatest alive at that time. All audience members were huge opera fans. and at the end of this aria, they ALL stood as one with tears in their eyes and gave the Maestro a fitting standing ovation that lasted for some time. One of the greatest performances ever recorded.
Fabulous pronunciation! How? Years and years of training and hard work, to hone that God given gift. This aria is from an opera and is probably the best known aria for tenors, which is what Pavarotti's voice type is. He is arguably the greatest tenor ever, so you have heard the best. Lovely reaction guys!
Your partner definitely has a poker face. I can’t believe that his expression NEVER changed while this voice from heaven sang. You reacted beautifully and definitely felt it. React to more of his. You’ll love it. He was a national treasure 💕
Ahaha I never thought of it that way, but he might actually have a professional Poker face lol! He’s usually very focused and serious when it comes to him & I’m outwardly expressive lol! You get the best of both worlds lol! Some people don’t like the overly expressive and visa versa lol! 😂😬❤️
@@SimplyTwoDudes I didn’t mean to offend honestly. I’ve just never seen anybody be that still except in a poker game or when I was giving them a final exam!! Hahaha
Thank you for my favorite opera singer. A little hint for the pronunciation (which for Americans is not easy) - Lu-chee-ah-no Pah-vah-row-tee -- Neh-suhn-door-mah - Tour-ahn-dot (as per Italians) or Tour-ahn-dough. He passed away Sept. 2007. When he spoke English he had a very heavy accent. He attended Princess Diana's funeral. To me, Pavarotti sang w-the most passion & emotion than any other male opera singer & that’s why i think he was the best. Btw, there is no better feeling than getting "dressed up" & splashing on that cologne to go out.
Giacomo Puccini was THE melody master of opera. He wrote the opera Turandot from which this aria about overcoming and winning is from. “ I will win!!!!” is what he’s saying at the end.
His look at the end showed not only lack of air in his lungs, but also that for a second there was nothing else left in him, because he put everything he had on that stage.......
You did very well with your pronunciation. Yes, this is Opera. This an Aria that was his signature song. Opera is like Musicals. The biggest difference is that there is no dialog in Opera. It is sung all the way thru. Pavarotti was a Master of his instrument. To see him perform in actual Opera performances just pull up Luciano Pavorotti, and you will see different selections. When he is in tails and white bow tie, he is giving a concert.
Please react to the song "Caruso" sung by Luciano Pavarotti. The writer of this song, Lucio Dalla (from Bologna, northern Italy), wrote this while staying in one of the rooms where Enrico Caruso, former famous tenor (From Neaples, southern Italy), spent the final days of his life. Caruso was 48-years-old when he died, and a few years before Caruso died, he married Dorothy Park Benjamin who was 20 years younger. They had a baby girl they named Gloria. Lucio Dalla wrote this song while imagining how Caruso, who knew he was dying, would have said goodbye to his young wife - the love of his life. Fun Fact: in sicilian dialect the word caruso means ragazzo in italian and boy in english.
Your comment is absolutely wonderful! To share your desire to get out of your comfort zone by dressing up & attending a concert with beautiful music is tremendous! We only have one life & those are the experiences we will never forget. You'll never look back & say, I wish I didn't go. Rather, those will be the moments you'll always remember. I truly hope you make it a priority to fulfill that wish of yours. Thanks so much for sharing that about yourself.
Yes, opera is a genre of music. But Pavarotti also sang Italian bel canto, which is also lyrical. And I would suggest that you invest in seeing an opera. Choose one of the most famous ones, because they are the best ones. And yes, opera is still big. I've never seen a really high-level production like the Metropolitan or any of the equivalents in Europe. But even the several operas I've seen in Finland... I once went to see Nabucco by Verdi and the slave choir entered through the audience hall and walked to stage singing the intro (Cosi' ha detto il Signore) and my shirt was just wet with the tears that I could not stop from flowing, because the music was just so powerful. However, as novices by advice to you is this: Pay less attention to your own attire as in let that not be a barrier to you going to see opera. Focus more on getting the English translation of the Libretto (the little book with the lyrics and the story of the opera you are going to see) and read it beforehand. This will allow you to understand the storyline. And then just enjoy the experience.
there are still a lot of amazing opera singers nowadays. there should be opera performances in your city if you live in a big city like LA, NYC, Dallas, etc. some opera companies invite talent from all over the world, so I definitely recommend going to the opera in NYC if you live in the US. a lot of people think you have to really dress up for the opera but i'd say it's a mixed crowd. some really go all out and then some are more on the business casual side
by now, you have probably watched the complete opera "Turandot", possibly the version featuring Luciano Pavarotti, which he performed many times. At this concert, he is not just singing the song, he is "acting" the part, so at the end, when he sings "I will win, I will win, I will win", his facial expressions are part of the act. If you are interested in opera, try the lighter, more comical ones first. The Barber of Seville (Rossini), The Marriage of Figaro {Mozart) for example. I watch operas right here on "RUclips" and there are many with "English subtitles" so you know WHAT it's about. But there is NOTHING like seeing a live performance, I hope you get to do that someday. (There is a screen above the stage with English subtitles). Enjoy !!!
In this performance you have not only the best opera singer ever, but you also had the most prestigious conductor in the world, Zubin Mehta, and you have the largest choir and the absolutely largest orchestra, every one of them a virtuoso. There are two video screens above the orchestra, they are not for the audience, they are for the orchestra to be able to follow the instructions of the conductor. I have never seen such a large orchestra. But would you believe that this is not my favorite performance? There are many, many, many videos of Pavarotti performing this aria (song from an opera) over many years. And some are even better than this one. And there are many more videos of Pavarotti performing other arias and popular songs with popular artists. "Pavarotti and Friends" benefit concerts. With James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox, Tracy Chapman, Bono, Zucchero, and many others.
Does this still happen: check out Andrea Bocelli. There is this story, I don't know if it's true: a record company wanted to perform a song, they had Bocelli, who was then a studio performer, make a demo and sent it to Pavarotti. He sent it back with a letter, "You don't need me, you have him!" So Bocelli got his breakout performance, and he is very popular and nearly but not quite as good as Pavarotti. Check out O Sole Mio! with Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, and I always forget the third guy but he is famous too.
Great reaction, you two! Luciano was amazing! You might want to check out a new fen or now on the scene. He's also had years of classical training but calls his style Neo-classical. Try Stranger by Dimash but put a filter on it and stop once or twice!
You must read the story of the Opera Turandot and how this Aria fits in. It's English title means "None shall sleep". If you get chance watch a Vid of the Opera.
Luciano was the best but there are some other great opera singers out there. Do go to a concert and dress up and experience it. It will be something you will always look back on and say that was a great night. A full opera can be heavy and i have only been to one La Traviata. Particually if you dont know the story it can be hard to follow. But a concert with maybe 3-4 singers doing excepts like this is wonderful and you won't be disapointed.
