  • So the guys at the surplus store told me about this mythical rifle that costs a lot and you only have to load once to empty. Naturally I stared researching it. They then let me have a go on one! This thing is a beast. Come take a look at how it works!
    Kit in the video..
    scope: amzn.to/3TUdRZE
    pellets: amzn.to/3VKLXlw
    vanguard bench rest: amzn.to/3JapJld
    shooting bags: amzn.to/3U6BTku
    CHEERS!

Nice review :) This rifle is lots of fun and great for multiple targets. I have a Huggett moderator on mine and a Pard 008 LRF and a permanently attached bipod which folds up next to the barrel, out of the way when not using it and 3 magazines in total. If you load all magazines before you start, this is ideal for a target rich environment and you never take your finger off the trigger or your eye off the target until the magazine is empty. That, for me, is worth every penny. When loading the magazine into the rifle, point the barrel downwards which ensures the pellets stay in the mag and then it never jams. I’ll never sell this rifle, so the price over its lifetime use isn’t so bad, long term. The Pard and moderator and the bipod still fit in the case when mounted.

I had a scout when they first came out , used it for the midlands based 20y free standing league what runs from January till December... I not only won the league but won it undefeated with that gun ... if you open them up there full of green long life seals build quality is outstanding .. but obviously you pay for it , sadly sold mine but would have another in a heart beat

Am I correct in thinking the Steyr fires the pellets through the magazine and does not put a pellet into the breach/barrel. This is why the Steyr semi auto does not break the UK rules on semi auto guns. Many of the semi autos feed a pellet into the breach therefore when the magazine is removed the gun is still live. Unlike the Steyr once you remove the magazine there is no pellet in the breach. So by removing the magazine even with pellets left in the mag renders the gun safe!

Had my grey laminate Scout (also from CSS) since October 2021. Absolutely love it & not missed a beat. Unlikely I'll ever sell it.
And quite right, you end up firing one or two carefully then mag dump the rest more or less through the same hole. Go through so many pellets. I have four mags now. It is the only way!
QYS Streamlined Heavy 9.56's are great and what I've been feeding mine past couple years.
Started off with the Steyr barrel adaptor to take a moderator but now have the Steyr barrel shroud (which is about on par with a small moderator like a Donny FL Tatsu). Looks nicer too IMO.
The Scout has a louder bark than the full length version so needs something to tame it.

I own one and it's one of the best air rifles I've even had its so much fun and bang on accurate... The only thing with the magazines is that it can be fussy with jsb as they seem to fall out.. I use barracuda 8 from H&N they seat lovely.. Plus get extra magazines as you can easily go through a tin in no time.. And it's brilliant for hunting or pest control.. Definitely my favourite and it ain't cheap but this is a top end rifle..

You have to look down the barrel to see the pressure gauge who designed this.

Seems a lot of people struggle with this. You can look off centre. A lot of air rifles have the gauge here these days. Just off to the side is plenty fine.

Nice bit of kit but there are rifles for ⅓ of the price new that'll do the same. Even a second hand s400 for £400 is just as accurate. But if you've got the money then why not buy one. Each to their own.

100% so much choice. Great to have a go… would I buy it? Only if I had the money burning a hole. And I’ll be honest… it’s got flaws. The magazine is fiddly and can jam easily.

    • @tvm-reviews
      @tvm-reviews  3 месяца назад

Unfortunately, it is not legal to own and use a true semi automatic air rifle in the UK, but it seems that we are allowed to own and use "Self Indexing" air rifles such as the Steyr. Semi auto - appears to be classed when the pellet is fired whilst already in the barrel.
