My first playthrough, joined the ambushers, killed the true souls, and accidentally killing the ambushers after getting the lamp. Whoopsies.
@@madameneko3 :0. I never encountered the ambushers. I was always able to ambush the caravan, tho lol. Guess it’s because I always go through the Underdark?
@@gingersnapzbg3513 the first time I went through the mountain pass, carrying the lyre that I got off Minthara. This was just minding my own business after the whole debacle at the Creche

2 months and no Ep 19? I'm finally caught up to this in my own game of Baldur's Gate, and I want to see Carbot make fun of more of it.
Maybe it's because he's playing with a multiplayer group, and the Dorf Urge got bored.
Please keep going with this series, it is hilarious and cute and wacky and wonderful.
The one time dancing lights isn't _completely_ worthless (Light is still better).
Dancing Lights can be cast over vents to stop poison gas :) It can also be concentrated on to trigger the Illithid power "Concentrating Blast"
Produce flame is nice
It’s a shame it doesn’t work like it does in D&D where it’s multiple globes of light that you can move around at once rather than just one mass of light

They weigh 10kg so I think they can do a fair bit of damage if thrown at an enemy, no? Especially if you have the ring of flinging and tavern brawler etc

I like being encounter where you meet the Harpers without the Drider. It's just so much more dark and horrifying of an introduction to the shadowlands.
Honestly, they could have done something similar when the goblin tricks the hyena pup into running into the shadows. The Drider could have screamed about not feeding the shadows, and then the pup could have come back to the camp as an undead and the Drider would have impaled it with his leg. Cinematic and horrifying, giving you a similar introduction to the effects of the shadows, while also rewarding you for doing your homework with the terrifying visage of the Drider's _eyes._
for some reason this is very accurate.
i do a playthrough with a friend (who's not aware of carbot) and he's hoarding them poor enemies bodies in his chest - reason, gonna be a true dork urge and doin all the things u know.

The DnD game I’m in is basically “what if don’t starve was a ttrpg?” And it done well too!
The first half of this reminded me of when Maxwell (me) got cocky and thought he didn’t need a light because he’s a Shadar Kai and native to this environment. That was corrected VERY QUICKLY. And the cleric was not amused.

My funniest encounter there so far was using my high CHA to persuade the caravan and spider guy to just drop their light and walk into the dark because the "absolute"
said so and that they'd be safe, only to hear their screams moments later 😂

And yes, holding a lantern everywhere you go is absolutely annoying enough that I’m willing to kill to avoid it.
