All the reveals in this finale were CRAZY. Ive never played Fallout, so I had no idea about the lore. However, I loved this show, and the fantastic sets, practical effects and acting by Walter Goggin and Ella Purnell were outstanding. The twist that Lucy's dad knew Cooper and was responsible for nuking Shady Sands and killing thousands, including his own wife and Maximus's family, honestly blew my mind. Not to mention the fact that Cooper's wife and the entirety of Vault Co. starting the war, to begin with is so insanely dark and yet sadly incredibly true to how I imagine a lot of governments and businesses would use a nuclear fallout to their advantage. It is also even more grim that you realise all the ideas that the meeting members were suggesting are all tasks that different Vaults are assigned to do in the actual Fallout Games as Vault Dwellers of the game since each Vault is tasked to do some meaningless and unethical experiments that are just a sick game for the Enclave (rich folks at the top). It was really satisfying seeing The Ghoul shoot Henry even if he survived, and Lucy having to kill her own barely alive mother just to stop her suffering as a Ghoul is so tragic, especially when all she wanted to do was to live her own life with Moldaver who actually loved her and give her children a better future. I really hope Maximus uses his power as a knight to do some real good, and I genuinely hope he can reunite with Lucy again because the two of them are too good for this world, and they deserve happiness together, as well as the Ghoul/aka Cooper. It's mentioned that Cooper served in this war when Chinese forces invaded Alaska and got to equip Power Armor, of which the new T-51 model turned the tide and repelled their advance. This reinvigorated the concurrent counter-invasion of mainland China by U.S. forces, but things eventually reached a stalemate. The show mentions that peace negotiations were happening, but it's unclear how far those progressed, so for most people it likely did feel like nukes could fly at any moment (remember the weatherman from Ep1 "I can't do the weather if I don't even know if there's gonna be a next week") To me the big reveal was the fact that Vault-Tec / Barb were *willing* to start a nuclear exchange themselves to protect their investment and guarantee its purpose, but it's not 100% known whether they went through with that plan. There are some clues in the show & game that lead many to believe China launched their nukes first, taking many of the scheming/"prepper" characters by surprise. It's interesting to see what may have started as a pure business decision at Vault-Tec eventually turn into a supervillain-style philosophical aim to "reset" humanity and guide its reformation from scratch, selling it as both a business monopoly but also a "pure" form of capitalism as the various vaults could compete to see who builds the better society ("may the best idea win"). IMO this is flawed, since it's pitched as a way to avoid future wars, but having multiple vaults with fundamentally different guiding principles just sets them up for inevitable conflict should they ever meet (imagine Vault 33 dealing with the "super-mutant soldiers" from West-Tek) There's a bit more to say about the Enclave's involvement in all this, but I won't spoil it. And it doesn't take away from the above, which is what I believe was sold to people like Barb, Betty, Hank, who bought into the notion that what they were doing at VT was for the greater good of their loved ones as well as humanity. 11:46 idk how much video games you guys play, but God Of War 2018 and 2022, and Red Dead Redemption 2 are two of the best stories ever written across any medium. There are a thousand different stories that have been told in Fallout, but what makes the series so special imo is how deep it goes into the setting and how relevant it is to the real world. How'd we get here, what's best for humanity going forward, greed (a fuck ton of greed), etc. The premise of it is just so goddamn compelling lol. New Vegas is coming 🥳🥳🥳🥳 This show was well formed, Season 1 had Europe buying Fallout 4 in record numbers. I actually started playing before it came out. The plot twist were the protagonists and antagonists get reversed is crazy and I love how they did it.
The one thing I hate about this show is it’s trying to poetry that the companies are the ones who instigated the bombs dropping. For all of fallout’s existence this has never been the case, and it simply makes no goddamn sense. You cannot convince me that any company thinks it can make money in a post apocalypse. Since this show is considered canon, I really hope they fix this in season 2. Else, I’m just going to pretend this one tidbit doesn’t exist.
it has always been hinted in the games that Vault Tec either dropped the bombs themselves or forced the chinese to do it by sabotaging peace negotiations. the proposed Fallout movie from the 90s says the Vault Tec President launched the first strike. it wasn't about making money. it was about Vault Tec or rather their Enclave masters being the ones in control.
Season two cannot come fast enough! I am glad they greenlit a second season only one week after releasing S1. They must have seen some really good number pour in.
I agree and I've never played the game. Things they set up earlier all payed off in the Finale. Loved this show and they wasn't pushing any ag3ndas like they did with Last of US.
you guys will love the games I'm sure, fallout New Vegas will give you some incite for season 2 I think, but for a first play fallout 4 is the best UI and easy entry the older games have a lot of bugs and might be tricky for a new fan to jump in to, I love them but I know there's a lot of nostalgia there.
Maybe I missed it but this show has so many small details that are difficult to piece together unless you’re paying attention to every small thing said or done. For example moldaver used the word curious as one of the few words to describe Lucy’s mom. Then minutes later held her hand and said “we did it rose”. Inferring that up until the bombing of shady sands Moldaver and Rose were probably lovers or at least so in Moldavers eyes. Why else would you keep a ghoul locked up at a dinner table? Amazing show and video game adaptation.
Lmao dude on the far left is collectively shit on and seemingly hated by the other dudes its a hella weird vibe how no one ever mentions it is beyond me its insanely obvious every video🤣💀
Writers for video games, comic books, tv, movies etc. are all legit. Some comics and video games have won award for their stories. i.e. The Dark Knight Returns, The Killing Joke, The Sandman, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Alan Wake II etc. The problem with live action adaptations of video games in the past were that the people writing the scripts, the producers, etc had zero or next to zero idea how to adapt them properly. Recently it seems they are starting to get people involved in the projects that know and care about the medium they are making an adaption for. Hope it continues. We don't need to slip back to movies like Doom, Super Mario Bros (1993), Double Dragon, etc. Thanks for vid yall!
Y’all miss 25-30% of the story and dialogue because of talking. Not just this show but every show y’all react too. Sometimes, it’s better to just not say shit and listen.
Arcane changed a lot of the lore for an adaptation, and now Riot has to follow what is written in Arcane for the creation of every additional piece of lore, Edgerunners is a better adaptation and this one too because both fit within their respective lore
The writing was amazing? Are you guys okay?? If the end goal was to get the dad, why did Moldaver not just attack Vault 33 from the get go? She had no idea what had happened in Vault 32, that was happenstance. So her initial plan was to break in 32, kill everyone in 32. Wait for the BY YEARLY wedding, and then hope that 33 are so dumb that they don’t have a radiation band switched on when they open their gates. Even though the new overseer is someone that the Father has never heard of before…. You loved Lucy mum so much that you kept her alive and targeted her Father as you blamed him. Then why allow the groom to nearly kill Lucy? Makes 0 sense. Why kill anyone in vault 33?! They were all innocent apart from the overseers from 31. They were all test subjects. Free them ffs. The plot armour for the scientist to run into Lucy was INSANE! yes I understand that she had a fire lit, but come on! And if he was that close to vault 33, why did Moldaver pay someone to pay someone to get him safe passage? Why not meet up with him once she had the dad? He was on the way. She went past the scientist to get the dad, twice 😂😂 Why did the Ghoul not use the known fault in the armour when fighting Maximus? He has a drawn out fight with him when his bounty is right there. Why not do that one shot he does to about 5 of them in the last episode?? And makes a point of showing us he as known this fault for 2 centuries 😂 This is just the first ep and half of ep 2. The writing is bad the entire way through in terms of plot armour because the story needs X and X to happen for Y to come into play. Far too much convenience holding this show together. They make America seem tiny, as all of the Mc just meet at random points and are all linked to eachother. I want to add that I liked the show overall. Acting was good, set pieces were good, cg was good and only maximum had shit dialog. But it was just all too convenient.
1. You can counter argue that Moldaver’s original plan was to be left alone and that Hank brought this on himself after he destroyed Shady Sands. She most likely couldn’t deal with the problem after it was destroyed because at that point, New Vegas was going on and had the entire NCR focused there. Even if you don’t wanna use that, you can also argue that she needed to play the role of Vault 32’s Overseer for two years to lower his guard since Norm and Chet realized that the original occupants have been dead for two years, fitting the timeline. If Hank and Betty’s goal is to control both vaults since that was the experiment for Vaults 32 and 33, they would’ve realized that something was up if Vault 32 suddenly stopped responding. 2. None of the Raiders knew what happened in 32. Again, the occupants were most likely dead before she even got there since they were dead for two years, and some of them were killed in ways that wouldn’t make sense to do. Raiders wouldn’t force a guy to stab into the toaster or force two people to strangle each other, and if they didn’t know about the Vaults, they also wouldn’t write messages about 31 on the walls. We seen that these particular Raiders were savage and uncaring, not even knowing how to use a fork. I highly doubt they can orchestrate intricate ways for Vault 32 to kill themselves like that. Also, why would they have their Geiger counter on when they are interacting with another vault? The dwellers are nice and naive people, so automatically having them turn their Geiger counter on for people they think they can trust like fellow dwellers would make no sense and be out of character for them. That’s more so a Vault 111 thing and it makes sense for them since their experiment was to NEVER open the doors. 3. There’s no way you think Moldaver told Monty to kill Lucy. You can counter that by saying Monty acted on his own free will since Moldaver wanted the residents dead. The only thing you can really argue on that is she didn’t tell anyone about Norm or Lucy. But then again, why would she? Why would she tell raiders of all people about her past and what she cares for outside of getting Hank and Cold Fusion? Hell, I can also COUNTER argue that Moldaver hasn’t seen Norm and Lucy since they were kids, so she had no idea what they looked like or if they were even alive still. Also, Vaults and Vault-Tec stands for everything Moldaver hates, and Hank and Betty particularly are the ones she hates the most. If they were behind the bombing of Shady Sands which also killed innocent people, why tf are they gonna try to save the people who were responsible? Did you stop to think that there were ALSO innocent people in Shady Sands? Why didn’t Hank save them? 4. Wasn’t plot armor. It was more of a convenience. She needed both the dad and Wilzig to activate Cold Fusion, and couldn’t get to the scientist since he left The Enclave hours after the assault on 31. The NCR lost so much man power during New Vegas that they are borderline non-existent in the Boneyard so she can’t do two things at once, and going against the Enclave of all people is suicide. Only the Brotherhood have the tech and the manpower to fight them on even ground. 5. Didn’t have the right ammo for the fight. You can see that he was using explosive shells during the initial gunfight in Filly, and armour piercing in the observatory fight. He was at a disadvantage the moment Maximus showed up. He also wasn’t thinking that the T-60 has the same issue, since Cooper only used the T-51 and T-45 suits during the battle of Alaska, and those are MUCH OLDER and less armoured compared to the Brotherhood T-60 and the Enclave X-01.
And made America feel tiny ? This whole season was based in Los Angeles all the fallout games are set in one big state or area not around the whole world it’s clear to know that the apocalypse is all over the world just not the USA but it only shows certain areas so your comment is nonsense considering how you would want a show to adapt the whole world of fallout when the games can’t even do it
@@liladonn5646 No ones crying I just disagree and gave my points? Like you’re doing right now? It’s an open dialogue… that is what the comments section is for. And La is still massive. Bigger than some countries in the world. Lucy leaves the vault and meets another main character randomly because.
@@MythicShadow04Your number 1 is just incorrect. Moldaver did not want to be left alone. For 200 years she’s been actively fighting the good fight against vault tech. Also, she needed him to use the infinite energy, so regardless of him attacking Shanda, she goes after him. I absolutely can believe Monty was told to kill Lucy because all of Moldaver’s soldiers attacked everyone in the vault. Another 3 try to kill her on her way to her father. Not like she’s hard to spot, she’s the one wearing the wedding dress. So even if Monty acted alone, what is your excuse for the other 3 soldiers that try to kill her when she leaves her house? Again, I’m not arguing it’s just my option, but I backed each one up with a fact. Major of your arguments back have started with “but you could look at it this way” It shouldn’t be up to me to interpret why the writers didn’t do their job well enough to remove controversies from the show. It was stated that the scientist was in between where Moldaver was and vault 33. Meaning she went past him TWICE Before he met up with Lucy. Ridiculous. The Ghoul had deep knowledge of one shotting Maximus but doesn’t? Why? Because the plot needs Maximus alive. Same with Lucy being the only person to happen across Maximus in the armour when he was there for what looked like 12 hours. Why did no one check the radiation levels of the raiders? It was obvious to the brother that they were strange, to the point that he BROKEN INTO VAULT 32 because he was suspicious…. Just check their radiation levels? Could’ve done it at the original gate, seen they were radiated and show ends there. Too much plot armour. But I still enjoy the vast majorly, as the vast majority was written fine over all. It’s just those small details.
Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 gameplay numbers have spiked since this show and it's only getting higher. This show is technically Fallout 5 long before it comes out, according to Jonathan Nolan.
New Vegas was an utopia by fallout standards. Mr House knew the bombs would drop and it shows in this show too. When they were launched he managed to intercept most of the nukes aiming for it and the mojave and destroyed them. That is why the setting of New Vegas does not have as much as radiation as the other locations in fallout. However it looks like something happened to it after the events of new vegas just like what happened to shady sands. as the credits show all the securitrons deactivated, broken down ncr remnants.
Aside from the "right wing" stuff, they do literally ruined the lore of the games, and this would not be a problem if Todd didn't say the show was cannon ... there was already a small beef with the "New Vegas" game , since it was made by Obsidian , and it literally outshined Todd's Fallout games, he probably was salty and wanted to erase it from existence lol.

Fallout 4 is Peak as well. Btw, if you think Vault 31-33 and Vault 4 is fucked, Vaults 11, 68, 3, 75, and 77 is some of the most dark shit out there.
@@NaishiYT Vault 68 was filled with 999 men and 1 woman, Vault 3 had its occupants drown from a water break and the others murdered by fiends who broke in from the surface(what they did to them I can’t even mention here), Vault 11 had people sacrifice each someone to Vault Tec each year and when there final five people were left; it was revealed that the whole thing was a lie and that if they didn’t kill anyone they would’ve been free to go. Vault 75 had parents separated from their children and killed off and the children are raised into killers or killed off by harvesting their brain to study when the reach a certain age. And Vault 77 had a man stuck in a Vault for over five years by himself with only a box of dolls to keep him company, eventually driving him insane

one thing about the fallout universe to remember is, they had amazing technology and things, but most things had side effects. or worked differently then advertised behind the scenes. for instance, they could preserve the brain. but the fluid the brain is suspended in tends to make one go a little bit....crazy. another example would be the company "mass fusion" who claimed to provide clean fusion power. but in reality their reactors were fission reactors. and quite dirty plutonium fueled ones at that. some towns literally had a "municipal plutonium well" in the center of town. whilst the people living around it believed it was clean fusion power.

The thing about the vaults experimenting on people is from the games.
That final shot gave me goosebumps!
I hope we get to see mr house in vegas in season 2 🙏
The one thing I hate about this show is it’s trying to poetry that the companies are the ones who instigated the bombs dropping. For all of fallout’s existence this has never been the case, and it simply makes no goddamn sense. You cannot convince me that any company thinks it can make money in a post apocalypse. Since this show is considered canon, I really hope they fix this in season 2. Else, I’m just going to pretend this one tidbit doesn’t exist.
Ahhemmm Mr. House did.
@@pizaclatonddd3081 he dropped the first bomb by protecting Vegas?
it has always been hinted in the games that Vault Tec either dropped the bombs themselves or forced the chinese to do it by sabotaging peace negotiations. the proposed Fallout movie from the 90s says the Vault Tec President launched the first strike.
it wasn't about making money. it was about Vault Tec or rather their Enclave masters being the ones in control.
I have no idea why nobody in that room is screaming
Season two cannot come fast enough! I am glad they greenlit a second season only one week after releasing S1. They must have seen some really good number pour in.
next season will be in New Vegas baby lets gooo
Never in my life would I have expected that someone would see New Vegas and call it a utopia💀
Yall play the game and stream episodes for 30 mins or a hour

Judging by the state of New Vegas, I wouldn’t exactly call it a “utopian society” lol.
I agree and I've never played the game. Things they set up earlier all payed off in the Finale. Loved this show and they wasn't pushing any ag3ndas like they did with Last of US.
in the end hank is goin to new vegas( las vegas) its from one of the games that prob means s2 gonna be lit
NEW VEGAS SEASON 2 WELCOME BACK TO THE MOJAVE WHERE BLOOD IS LEFT ON THE SAND
you guys will love the games I'm sure, fallout New Vegas will give you some incite for season 2 I think, but for a first play fallout 4 is the best UI and easy entry the older games have a lot of bugs and might be tricky for a new fan to jump in to, I love them but I know there's a lot of nostalgia there.

If there’s one Fallout game y’all should try it’s New Vegas. The best one of the series. That and Fallout 4.
Now ask yourself who sold the solution to covid? and also made sure it was released......

Best Video game adaptation ? Even though you know nothing about the games ?
lol they don’t know New Vegas
Best capitalism parody lol, a company that decided to bomb America to sell and use the vaults they are trying to profit from lol

I can't stand Mas viiddal or whatever her name is, boring character, predictable.
That "Utopia" is New Vegas. Las Vegas wasn't directly hit with any bombs so it survived. And New Vegas is considered the best fallout game ever made.

Arcane >>>
Both are good.
Except avatar. Avatar is mediocre.
@@DBT1007 avatar is a video game adaptation?
Let em know🗣🗣🗣
both are good, i wouldn't even compare it to arcane bcos its an animation
She went past the scientist to get the dad, twice 😂😂
Why did the Ghoul not use the known fault in the armour when fighting Maximus? He has a drawn out fight with him when his bounty is right there. Why not do that one shot he does to about 5 of them in the last episode?? And makes a point of showing us he as known this fault for 2 centuries 😂
This is just the first ep and half of ep 2.
Your so hurt over an opinion the show was good asf stop crying
Major of your arguments back have started with “but you could look at it this way”
It shouldn’t be up to me to interpret why the writers didn’t do their job well enough to remove controversies from the show.
The walking dead’s better
The walking dead is based off a comic…
Mfw people who havent even Played the games call New vegas a Utopia. We made it bois
It was
Damn tunnelers
Yeah I know the feeling I have about 500 hours in new vegas, my favourite fallout
fr, we made it. New Vegas, my favorite
Everyone managed to get to where they wanted to originally, though Max and Lucy regret it😅

Arcane is still the gold standard, but Fallout was a damn good show too despite what some of the right wing Fallout fans say.
@@danriupeople keep saying they ruined the games lore then either can't mention anything specific or are totally wrong about what they're bringing up, and I'm really beyond it at this point. Also, Todd loves fallout, including New Vegas. Never been any actual evidence he doesn't. He's literally said the total opposite in interviews, with no reason not to tell the truth.
@@danriuexcept it wasn't erased and is literally the setting for the second season if he didn't like new vegas he wouldn't of bothered with it to begin with
People keep saying right wingers have a problem with this, yet I have yet to find a right winger who actually has a problem with the show. A lot of people who dislike PC/woke stuff in shows have had favorable opinions on the show. As a right wing fallout fan myself I liked the show.
@@BiyondoBāsudei I've seen several people bitching about it, but their complaints tell me they didn't actually watch it and are going entirely off of reviews.
Fallout honestly has some of the most fucked up and bleak storylines. I HIGHLY suggest to play the games, especially New Vegas since that’s the setting for the second season. Fallout 4 is Peak as well.
Btw, if you think Vault 31-33 and Vault 4 is fucked, Vaults 11, 68, 3, 75, and 77 is some of the most dark shit out there.
What happens in those other vaults???
@@NaishiYT Vault 68 got 999 men and 1 woman 👀
@@NaishiYT Vault 68 was filled with 999 men and 1 woman, Vault 3 had its occupants drown from a water break and the others murdered by fiends who broke in from the surface(what they did to them I can’t even mention here), Vault 11 had people sacrifice each someone to Vault Tec each year and when there final five people were left; it was revealed that the whole thing was a lie and that if they didn’t kill anyone they would’ve been free to go. Vault 75 had parents separated from their children and killed off and the children are raised into killers or killed off by harvesting their brain to study when the reach a certain age. one thing about the fallout universe to remember is, they had amazing technology and things, but most things had side effects. or worked differently then advertised behind the scenes.
for instance, they could preserve the brain. but the fluid the brain is suspended in tends to make one go a little bit....crazy.
another example would be the company "mass fusion" who claimed to provide clean fusion power. but in reality their reactors were fission reactors. and quite dirty plutonium fueled ones at that. some towns literally had a "municipal plutonium well" in the center of town. whilst the people living around it believed it was clean fusion power.
you would probably go crazy as a jar brain from not sleeping.
