    George lovely work as always could you extend your gear change for the Meteor to make it a heel toe shift? Some of us quite like the heel toe, but prefer your engineering!

    I received my new lever today and fitted without too many issues. One small bit of feedback: I had to turn off about 2mm from the back of stepped nut as it was touching the engine casing. This is due I think to the variation in tolerances of the fabricated frame. Not a problem for me as I have a lathe but may be more problematic for others. That said fabulous product and streets ahead of OE assembly. Thoroughly recommend. Thanks George

      A lathe,lucky you Raymond. I am currently striving to find a way to fit the lever assy,whilst allowing it to pivot. I've followed the TEC instructions but I fear the stepped nut principle needs refining as I cannot see how the unit,as supplied can be made to function (unless,of course you have a lathe)

      @@travellingbilly.4032 sorry to hear you are having difficulties fitting the unit. Does the lever jam when you you tighten the screw? I found it won’t go past about 9 o’clock in anti clockwise direction but this isn’t a problem as it needs to be at at approx 10 o’clock (for me anyway) to get my boot under.

    • @travellingbilly.4032
      @travellingbilly.4032 2 года назад

      @@raymondjackson7982 I'm unsure why the nut has to be so deep,but I've fired off an email to TEC,hoping for a modified stepped nut.Failing that I'll have to get working on my fettling skills.

    Lovely work on the leaver. I'd love a straight heel toe replacement but just better engineered. I like the heel toe it's just a cheap fitting though. I'm definitely up for the cover. My tail tidy is great, as are my adjustable levers. Love the quality, the finish and the thought that goes in to these parts.

    I just received the gear pedal conversion for my meteor. Not fitted it yet but it looks good. However I wonder why the joint pivots are both right handed on the connecting rod, It would have been much better if they was right and the other left handed so that the adjustment could be made simply by turning the link rod after undoing the locknuts. As it is they will have to be disconnected in order to make the adjustment otherwise turning the link rod will have no effect as one will tighten while the other loosens. other than that it's a well made and designed conversion.

    • @kevincrowley6991
      @kevincrowley6991 Год назад

      It’s so easy it wasn’t an issue, I just placed my boot on the peg with fitted extension as size 11, adjusted angle to allow easy foot operation tightened everything up touch of lock tight,Tested it perfect on the road and custom fit to me. Initial linkage setting around 11pm as per instructions.

    I have a new meteor just a 100 miles the most hard work gear change I ever used the heal is just too low The bike has the deluxe foot pegs I cannot get my toe under the front so gear changes are a nightmare , together with the foreword position of the pegs totally unnatural to me
    I am 67 and just can’t be arsed need things standard so I can enjoy a good gearbox and relax
