What's even more insane, is the fact that the amount of broadcasting money a small club like Burnley gets is almost as high as the total revenue of a club like Ajax.........
Which is not good for European (and especially Dutch, Portuguese, Belgian, Danish etc etc) clubs. Red Star, Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV, Porto and Sporting Lisbon will probably never win the Champions League again, and even that other rather insignificant European competition will see the same thing happening. 30 years ago, no top Ajax player would ever join Tottenham and now even fucking Swansea is a "bigger club".
I don't know exactly, could be. But the difference between then and now is in oscillation vs consistency so to speak. Before 2000 clubs from all over Europe could rise to European top honers for one or more seasons, these days if a club outside of the BPL or Spanish Liga looks promising, that promise is bought up and thereby killed in one or 2 transfer windows.
Jon Doe Definitely one of the big players in Europe in terms of power and stature. They may not be in the Champions league (for now), but they were able to sign top world class players and break the world record with Europa league football. Pogba could've easily joined Madrid or Barca but United financially out-muscled them. How many clubs can do that?
TheEpicTechnology And what good is it going to do them? Leicester proved last year you don't need the best players to win, and that's what most people fail to understand. A love of the game and knowing your opponents weaknesses is the only way to play football. Barcelona for example, yes they have world class players but they are like that because every one of them plays with their heart, they don't dive for penalties they just have a love of the game.
TheEpicTechnology And now you're being childish. Watch a few la liga games and then watch the premier league games, you'll see the contrast, but nope, more money means you'll win right?
MyBitMix I know I’m a Glasgow Rangers fan, we have a massive fan base and huge commercial revenue. But it’s sick how teams like Bournemouth and Burnley can massively outspend teams like Ajax, PSV, Rangers and Celtic due to broadcasting revenue.
I remember years ago when Swansea was promoted, they played a match against Manchester City during which the commentators shared an interesting statistic: the average Manchester City player made more money than the ENTIRE Swansea squad combined.
Flatrocker512 Yeah same story when United could only manage a 0-0 draw against Cambridge United a couple of years back. I'd say Di Maria's weekly wage was equal to what the Cambridge squad make in a couple months!
They have a good coach (great for a club of their size) with, probably, great staff helping him. The fact that the players do what is told doesn't hurt. I watched an episode of Football Today with Dyche on and he sounded very intelligent, in a football sense.
Davies Duale I'm a Burnley fan and this season I wanted to finish 17th or higher( survive) but half way through the season I wanted a 10th or 11th place finish . If we had won 6 or 7 more away games we could of . The thing is away we're not used to 30,40,50,60,70,80 thousand seat stadiums so are players feel more pressure on performance and crumble under pressure. Luckily Tom Heaton , Micheal Keane and our 2,3 Irish players play at these sort of stadiums but 4 or 5 players out of 11 isn't amazing If you actually read this please reply Well I wasted 10 minutes on this comment
Would be interesting to see a similar breakdown of Newcastle's numbers, taking into account a Champions League standard of capacity and a presumably large Commercial income...
Large commercial and match day income because we're gluttons for punishment, and we love our club, no matter what. At least we have a crack at some silverware this season.
I only want to tell you, all your videos are simply fantastic and amazing. Its just a matter of time until subscribers start coming in like wildfire. Keep going and thank you for these. Cheers.
These videos are brilliant! Would it be possible for you to do a making of sometime? I like how you draw the graphics by hand... do you fill the colours in later in post? Anyway, interesting topics and tidy looking infographics
Yet again another great video. The way the content on this channel is introduced is really satisfying and I've always wondered if you handwrite these statistics or if you use a program and if you do use one, what is it. Again, great video and content, hoping to see this channel grow quicker. Cheers.
Leicester won't release their records noting the financial improvement this season until next season, so it'll be a while until we have the full picture.
would be cool to see the wealth gap in other leagues too. I know fifa is not realistic but the budget disparities from the best to the worst is ridiculous in leagues such as bbva, serie a, bundesliga and ligue 1, even liga nos
You invest in a good coach and players you create more revenue you invest them again and like that you reach the top. Steadily progressivly with the key- the manager- look at Bournmouth now with Howe or Leeds and Derby in the past with Revi and Cloughie respectively. In order to be the best you have to dream to be the best
is the same story. Big clubs make separate deals with broadcasters to broadcast their matches and end up earning so much more money for tv broadcast compared to smaller clubs.
My question is would clubs like Burnley, Stoke, WBA, Everton, Southampton considering if we go by how things have done this season that they're pretty much stable in the PL, why don't they try getting some small stadium expansions here and there to increase the match day income? I know a lot goes into it, but it would improve their incomes a little bit.
Stoke are, we're expanding to 30,000 ahead of next season. But one of the biggest reasons we don't generate ticket revenue to as large an extent as others is that our season ticket prices have been frozen since 2007. There's a video on Stoke's finances on this channel. Everton aren't in that bracket of clubs to be fair, their ground is a lot bigger (40,000) and with new owners they're now capable of spending big fees for players. (Schneiderlin for example)
And this is why the premier league is not competitive anymore.....it's not an even playing field. Time for a transfer cap and salary cap so we actually get a decent competition based on bringing through young players, coaching and tactics rather than $$.
I'm all for 'getting what you work for' as in you work harder, you get better pay. *BUT* when it comes to sports I dislike this. The EPL got lucky, with at least 6 major teams all with a fighting chance of winning the league. But when it comes to other leagues, there is no true competition anymore. The easiest example is Germany's Bayern Munich domination in the Bundesliga. They will win the league every season, earn the winning first place bonus, and then buy all the great players with that money to do it again. Look at La Liga, Barcelona and Real Madrid (I don't know if Athletico is strong enough yet to count) are the only 2 fighting for the league with a real chance. After their Classico we just see them both destroy the other teams and it just isn't fun. Don't get me wrong I don't think America has a good system, but we do need to find a better way to increase competition among all teams.
i agree with you. The premier league is really one of the closest competition leagues, however its still the same teams clenching the top. but if we look we can see that each league has a single winner. Germany : Bayern Italy : Juventus Spain: Barca/Real Portrugal: Porto/ Benfica France: Paris(my boys) Turkey: Besiktas So it goes to show that money has actually ruined the sport over time as those with more money...usually just end up winning...
If you think there's a huge disparaty in the premier league, i darw you to check the differences between the three big clubs in portugal and the rest of the clubs in Primeira Liga. It's ridiculous, in all matters. I don't think you brits value the premier league and your advancement in football institutional organization as you should.
David Conn,... I may be the intellect you were...why don't you take over a club and provide a model club? " ...here comes the war.." We will turn everything around or we both will take collateral damage...
Poor video. Yes, very detailed but lacking to put across just how wealthy Burnley actually is. No debts and no ties. Burnley is one of the wealthiest clubs in British football, let alone European. Take that in to consideration.
That's irrelevant within the context of this video. If we were making a video about the wealth gap between Burnley and a Sunday League team, then it would be relevant. You may also wish to watch our video on Manchester United's debt, and why it isn't the problem it once was for that club: ruclips.net/video/4Aq44iHILDk/видео.html
Nottingham Forest have 1 more than Chelsea and 2 more than Arsenal. There's more to it than simply winning trophies, branding, player marketability. Manchester United dominate the Asian market, which plays a massive role.
What's even more insane, is the fact that the amount of broadcasting money a small club like Burnley gets is almost as high as the total revenue of a club like Ajax.........
hectorae86 that's why players want to be in the BPL even if it's for a team like burnley
30 years ago, no top Ajax player would ever join Tottenham and now even fucking Swansea is a "bigger club".
hectorae86 didn't Tottenham beat Cruyff lead Feyernoord in he UEFA Cup final 30 years ago, I'm no Spurs fan but they were a big club back then
I don't know exactly, could be.
Something like the 5th biggest net profit in Europe.
United are just filthy rich. Some people just don't seem to understand how powerful that football club really is.
TheEpicTechnology not powerful enough for Europe
Jon Doe Definitely one of the big players in Europe in terms of power and stature. They may not be in the Champions league (for now), but they were able to sign top world class players and break the world record with Europa league football. Jon Doe "Barcelona doesn't dive for penalties" this is the point where I can't take you seriously anymore lol
TheEpicTechnology And now you're being childish. Watch a few la liga games and then watch the premier league games, you'll see the contrast, but nope, more money means you'll win right?
even burnley are rich compared to most teams in the world
No. This is just broadcasting revenue, Ajax for sure has more commercial revenue. You can easily Google it.

Such a good channel. Keep them coming!
Huge fan of this channel...please keep it up all
Thanks for the kind comments Clive!
It's weird going back to these old videos and not hearing Joe talk about Skeletons.
Looks like Burnley will finish mid table this season, Incredible.
Same with United.
woahh,that burn
They have a good coach (great for a club of their size) with, probably, great staff helping him. The fact that the players do what is told doesn't hurt. I watched an episode of Football Today with Dyche on and he sounded very intelligent, in a football sense.
I may be biased, but Dyche is one of the best managers in the premier league. ✌
Davies Duale
I'm a Burnley fan and this season I wanted to finish 17th or higher( survive) but half way through the season I wanted a 10th or 11th place finish .

Well I wasted 10 minutes on this comment
yet another fantastic video. keep them coming
Would be interesting to see a similar breakdown of Newcastle's numbers, taking into account a Champions League standard of capacity and a presumably large Commercial income...
Definitely one for the future
And Leicester's last 2-3 seasons!
Large commercial and match day income because we're gluttons for punishment, and we love our club, no matter what. At least we have a crack at some silverware this season.
I’m a United fan and I’ve always thought that Newcastle deserved to be much higher up in the league, no matter how you put it they are a big club.
This channel is the best football channel on RUclips and no channel even comes close to the amazing talent these lads do day in and day out
and now burnley qualified for the europa league
I only want to tell you, all your videos are simply fantastic and amazing. Its just a matter of time until subscribers start coming in like wildfire. Keep going and thank you for these. Cheers.
these vids are amazing, could watch an hour long one in a sitting no problem
We will get on to making "Whiteboard Football: The Movie"
22.01.2020.
Manchester United - Burnley
0-2
How the mighty have fallen...
But also congrats to Burnley, someone is doing a good job at the club.
Honestly don't see why you don't get more vewis
Rare Pepe they're slowly but surely rising, and they'll start to rise quicker and quicker over time
These videos are fantastic! Keep up the good work. Could I ask though, what software do you use to produce these vids?
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL. KEEP GOING AND YOU WILL HIT 2,000,000 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS NOT 2K
That's the dream Melvyn. That's the dream
Burnley are 11th in the Prem as we speak
Dezeáy L. This season, their sitting in 7th behind the top 6
These videos are brilliant! Would it be possible for you to do a making of sometime? I like how you draw the graphics by hand... do you fill the colours in later in post? Anyway, interesting topics and tidy looking infographics
Definitely agree with this
i recently came across your channel and I love it!!
What is happening is people are buying Championship sides to get them into the Premier League to get that broadcasting cash.
Love Your Videos.
Amazing 👌👌👌 Keep Uploading More Such Videos
Yet again another great video. The way the content on this channel is introduced is really satisfying and I've always wondered if you handwrite these statistics or if you use a program and if you do use one, what is it. Again, great video and content, hoping to see this channel grow quicker. Cheers.
Do you know Leicesters current financial report? I'm curious to see how much it changed when they won the title
The craziest part is the Glazers pocket the majority of profits
You invest in a good coach and players you create more revenue you invest them again and like that you reach the top. Steadily progressivly with the key- the manager- look at Bournmouth now with Howe or Leeds and Derby in the past with Revi and Cloughie respectively. In order to be the best you have to dream to be the best
You should do the liga santander one
Great informative vid
yes, the disparity is big. but it's nothing compared to la liga or other top European leagues.
Please do another video on there financials as we finished 7th and qualified for Europa league! Overachievement at its best
You should do how bournemouth operate finically as they are a small club with a small stadium but still spend big
TV money, in England it will always be TV money.
Should've done this with la liga. Would've been very interesting
is the same story. Big clubs make separate deals with broadcasters to broadcast their matches and end up earning so much more money for tv broadcast compared to smaller clubs.

If the premier league was limited to 16 teams, then the average match would more interesting.
Does anyone know the song title and artist of the soundtrack?
And. We drew 0-0 at home to this pub side
Jack Brownell *they drew *away
nice video mate. maybe they should spend some of that money on better security.
Thanks Eric! - Danny
quality channel .
Top man thanks Ben! - Danny
David vs Goliath
Manchester united have owners who doesnot no anything about football they are good businessman
Wait till Huddersfield enter
And this is why the premier league is not competitive anymore.....it's not an even playing field. Time for a transfer cap and salary cap so we actually get a decent competition based on bringing through young players, coaching and tactics rather than $$.
Excellent video. Good to see Burnley overachieving.
This is before expenses... United doesn't even make profit after expenses and tax.
They announced a record operating profit of 69 million in 2016...
Spend within your means
Where do you gets your figures from?
Clubs publish all of their figures annually.
I'm all for 'getting what you work for' as in you work harder, you get better pay. *BUT* when it comes to sports I dislike this. oh shit.. we can afford to spend 150 mil every year on transfers
Should be renamed money 💰 ball ⚽️
Burnley is 7th in the table right now lol, they could even get to Europa League, of course their numbers have increased since then
If you think there's a huge disparaty in the premier league, i darw you to check the differences between the three big clubs in portugal and the rest of the clubs in Primeira Liga. It's ridiculous, in all matters. I don't think you brits value the premier league and your advancement in football institutional organization as you should.
Now Burnley are 7th! what a story
Now look at burnley, GOING ON A EUROPEAN TOUR
We're only here for the money, here for the money, we're only here fo......Hang on a minute, we're mid table! BUZZIN! UTC.
Nothing close to other leagues.
Still Sunderland got more TV money than Bayern Munchen... Haha absolutely ridiculous.
Burnley overachieved
David Conn,... I may be the intellect you were...why don't you take over a club and provide a model club? "
...here comes the war.."
We will turn everything around or we both will take collateral damage...
Please say pounds not pound 8)
burnley will always be a small club

Financial Fair Play. Clubs should grow “organically” apparently if they want to dine with the boys. Yeah right.
how are united considered the biggest club in the world again, real Madrid have more
European trophy's.
Nottingham Forest have 1 more than Chelsea and 2 more than Arsenal. There's more to it than simply winning trophies, branding, player marketability. Manchester United dominate the Asian market, which plays a massive role.
I find the fake hand drawing is really distracting
Yup. We are rich as fuck
Great content
