They've been a really good ownership group for the Boston Red Sox here in the states. On the field - but most importantly off the field and are one of the few teams who DIDN'T go out and build a new facility. Not only has the team been outstanding on the field, but they've really made bank off of it. A few of your old school Sox fans - long running sufferers - don't like a lot of the commercialization - you can buy bricks at the park, Fenway is horrendously expensive (like... incredibly expensive), and you can't turn around a corner without getting sold something - whether it's a photo of you and your friends at the park, food, shirts, etc - but it's also been necessary to keep Fenway viable, but also keep the club competitive on the field.
I think a lot of this is what you'll continue to see at Anfield... Henry can be a bit clueless at times, but by sports owners - he's very good to one of the best, tbh.

I hate the Red Sux but it was Henry that made the decision to hire Epstein, the greatest baseball GM since Branch Rickey. Eptein ended 87 Years, then went to Chi Town and ended 108 years. But the Sux won two more after he left and may well win again this year. New Englanders have won so much noe theyve become Yankee/United/City type insufferable. But it all syarted with Henry's decision to keep Fenway and fix it up.

And as of 2018, FSG have hired one of the most popular Liverpool head coaches ever in Jurgen Klopp, have expanded the stadium by over 8,000 seats, set the world transfer record for buying a defender, set world transfer record for buying a goalkeeper, bought a player who broke the all time Premier league record for goals in a season, and have made it to 2 European finals (both the Europa and Champions League). So naturally they have been, and continue to be, protested against. It seems to not matter that the club are inarguably on the rise and in a far better situation under FSG, but that they are American capitalists.

One of the best video presentations on the net. Is that Prezi you are using???
Incedentally, you are correct that the club came very close to administration and a related demotion. The problem was not that RBS wanted repayment, they had all but written the debt off. The problem was that Hicks and Gillet were insolvent and if the FSG deal had collapsed because JH became impatient (and he did), there was no one (however much H&G liked to pretend there was) who could have taken over the club and complied with regulations before the salary bill forced administration, as RBS had their own problems and could not put more money in.

So far, i see that who invest more into clubs, like Chelsea and Manchester(s), gets more power, consequently winning trophies. Pure business, babe

What gets me, is the stupid shite thats going around, Lpool are buying the league, while offering no context. Other teams hate the term net spending because it put them in a poor light. However Lpool have spent a bit of money. But lets get it right, Lpool lost a world class player in coutinho. and sold quite a few players that didnt suit Klopps style of play. Lpool took apart what they had, and used that what was gained, and put it to great use.
However buying the league, is vast spending without selling to raise funds. Like Jose, under Klopp liverpool have spent just 18m of new money. All the rest is a result of having to sell before buying.
Its like this... Lpool had a house, it wasnt great, so they thought, lets sell it, and with the money they made in selling it, they put 18m towards what they raised and brought a much much better house. Jose however, saw he had a ok house, but instead of selling it, he asked for 100's of millions, and brought a massive house, without selling the one he already had. there is a huge huge difference.

We are better run than Arsenal and getting more bang for buck via player transfers. Arsenal are stagnant under Kroenke and Tottenham success under Pochettino shows even with 6th largest revenue, Spurs can still get into Champions League 2 seasons in a row now (and beat Liverpool to CL for several years while Liverpool had financial problems in 2010/2011, 2011/2012, 2012/2013).
Liverpool can take advantage of Arsenal and United's slump via Klopp's tactics. City too are also wasting money on expensive players that do not fit into a team dynamic. Liverpool have the best balanced team dynamic vs Arsenal, United and City currently in my opinion. A few defensive additions to add solidity and more attacking depth to cope with injuries will make Liverpool a consistent Champions League club.

Takeover is impossible now. They have grown so much. John Henry and Michael Edwards are the real masterminds behind Liverpool’s incredible growth and success these past few years. They both deserve statues next to Klopp in their own right.

Hey Liverpool fans, be happy, because Henry spent so much that he told the Red Sox general manager that he didn't want to pay the luxury tax again so that ended our season

Great video. I'm interested to see how liverpools finances could change with the resignation of Ian Ayre and with the higher chance of champions league football under Klopp.

Not much to criticise about, but the Benteke sale was not a profit, if more of a break-even. Jordan Ibe, brad smith, joe allen and on a lesser extent, Skrtel provided enough funding to buy Mane without breaking the bank

Tifo Football this video is great... is it possible to do one as at 2020 maybe pretty season ending and then later post season ending, to show how much a league win adds to revenue, profitability and performance etc. Thanks!

i don't know what Henry would benefit from selling. the club is running well financially, good points, i'm not an accounting expert, but seems pretty cool.

they never paid the debt as early video says, transfer fees was very helpful, sponsorship from US is coming wildly Henry was a good entrepreneur because red boston sox was managed very wisely and investor had a good trust on him

Fenway haven't invested their own money, but the money is from selling players, sponsorships, gate money, merchandising and television contracts. The net spend per year is very low compared to other Premier League Clubs and the success of Jürgen Klopp and the back room staff is the reason for Liverpool Football Club on an upward curve and current European Champions.
