Started my planted tank 3 weeks ago after I rehomed all my big American cichlids. Probably the best looking tank I've ever had
really looved this video, very nice and natural looking. one of my favorite videos so far. thanks for the great videos.
planted tank goals
Excellent aquarium, healthy fishes and great plants. Beautifully set-up.
Do add the red tail sharks , they would love it!
crystal clear water and very natural!
That is an awesome looking aquarium…is that a 30 inch or 36 inch stand?
That is the Boss level tank. Absolutely beautiful. 💯 I hope you gave your mate a pat on the back mick. Stunning.
Stunning tank, proper lush
Such a beautiful set up...how thick is the glass?
Brilliant planted tank mate 👍👍👍
Ayyyy saw it on your insta had to watch this one
Beautiful tank
Those Altums will be stand out fish in there when bigger
Jamie your tank is stunning mate. Keep the good work up. 👌
Beautiful tank there 😀👍🏻 i had also created my planted tanks as well cheers
Love this tank and video... is the tank and cabinet by ND Aquatics?
I love large planted tanks with smaller fish
Thanks mate yes ND built the whole tank and cabinet 👍🏻
@@MicksFishUk very nice! I purchased a 5ft tank and cabinet from them 9 years ago and still looks like new.
I'm getting my tape measure out as I'm sure I could replace it and squeeze an 8ft tank in my living room 😲
great video lovely fish and tank
Love the tank ,watched the video lots of times . Was wondering with the amount of fish you have do you quarantine them every time you add them ? Or just stick with your trusted suppliers .
Hey mate sometimes I quarantine my fish if I don’t fully trust the shop. But normally it’s ok if you get from a decent shop. But you should really from any place. Especially if you have a decent display tank. 👍🏻
Makes me think about changing to a community tank
Awesome tank, I have a 6x2x2 planted tank after switching over from malawis and its the best thing I've done.
Very nice tank. I have a 8ft long with the exact same dimensions, just two inches shorter. It was gifted to me by a very nice gent on Craigslist.
After I assemble it, I'll plant it and move my big fish into it,
despite the myth that big fish (10"- 20") inches can't work with a planted and scaped tank.
I've done it successfully before in my 135g 6 footer.
I use pretty much the same plants as Jamie does but I use more moss varieties and red plants.
His tank looks very good and natural as well. 🐠👍🏼🇨🇦✌🏽
Red rainbows and clown loach will be ace in there
You’ve got reds 😂
love a planted tank
Very nice fish tank, I have a 4-foot tank as well as the fish what he had in his tank
wow ..awesome.. amazing tour.... goldy
Would of been nice to see the sump, but beautiful tank.
👍 Super tank
Dream tank 😂😂
I wanted an 8 footer but bottled it and went with a 6x2x2 instead. Got mine as a hitech jungle tetra tank.
Awesome!
That’s a beautiful tank and a great size in its built but the stocking(fish soup) takes a lot from it, if there would’ve been at least 3x less species you would’ve seen something much more beautiful, the fish acting natural and not just a constant agitation. Wait till the altums grow and you can’t even see them because of all that soup. But after all everyone has its own taste and right to keep what they want, clear waters my friends!
agree...id do discus and altums as centerpieces then have few shoaling species accentuate them and for them to interact with the nice scape he has....the soup u describe reminds me of just a feeder fish tank which is what his stocking reminds me of
@@JustaKarenDiscoveredTheIntrnet hahaha the account name lol
Yes, a group of big fish as center pieces and any other small shoaling species would make it look more natural. I’d go with Manacapuru Angels as they’re my favorite and a huge shoal of rummynose tetras, that’s my current stocking too but in a jar-sized tank compared to this one😂 and some cool L numbers plus a Corydoras crew, you’d feel like you’re in a river when you’d be watching that tank
I missed it what were the "Borneo barbs"? The other ones than the Denisonii ones!
I can’t fully remember mate message Jamie on Instagram he can tell you 👍🏻
@@MicksFishUk what's Jamie's tag/username?😂
What are the other barbs called please ? Not the denison barbs but the other ones that are shoaling with them ?
Can’t remember mate message Jamie on Instagram he will tell you 👍🏻
@@MicksFishUk it’s alright I eventually found them, did abit of Internet research certainly were hard to find
those fish the one that lived in the garage who is 6 years old.what fish are those
Nice tank. Scape er up bro.
Beautiful tank do you use R.O water?
No RO just straight tap 👍🏻
My return water from the filter is about a centimetre from the serfice and it kind of creates a bit of serfice tension and makes a few bubbles, is that OK or should my return water from the filter be under the sefice about an inch or somthing? I think I stumbled across the topic before on another show I can't remember, dose anyone know anything about it
No video on filtration?
Simple sump set up like mine mate check out my video on it 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice big tank 😉👍
technik ??
way to many fish IMO but very nice any wayz
Salut ,
1 .. planté n'importe comment !
2 .. population trop importante !
Personnellement , je n'aime pas ...
Mais , oui , chaqu'un ses goûts !
what a dream tank would say its definitely over stocked i wouldn't even have half of that plus there going to grow and you should have shown the filtration or at least told us you wasn't going to so i didnt have to watch the whole vid
Haha love this. It’s a 1500l set up, with a 6x2 sump. Plenty big enough, bioload is minuscule compared to what this tank used to run.
@@aquariummonstershertsuk yeah yeah if you say so pal
@@craigthomson8550 i do :)
@@aquariummonstershertsuk absolutely sensational that tank Jamie and not overstocked
@@jamiehendle8827 i will enjoy the day you say its crashed before you know it will be full of monsters again
Looks awful. So many people have the luxury of big tanks and waste them. Nice fish I grant you and look healthy but could be so so much better, shame.
What would you do differently then?
@@adammason4454 Scape it properly. Why have a big tank like that and 'plant' it so it just looks like a holding tank for plant cuttings?
@@stevewebb2201 I would have just only put fish from South America in there. Would have gone for some dwarf cichlids
@@stevewebb2201 maybe that’s what he likes but I agree with you on the scape, some big pieces of bogwood, some natural looking sand and some easy Swords with Anubias and Crypts would make that look awesome
Not everyone wants to spend so much time and money on keeping there tank staying healthy. A tank that size would take a lot of work to keep it looking tidy. Going with a simple setup with easy plants is a win in my eyes, specially if you don't want to spend hours every week.
