Thank you Rod for your detailed forecast. You care enough to give the detailed conditions that we need to know, you are the best. Thanks for sharing about how you all watch for that pesky arctic air which wreaks havoc in the WV.
Hood River and The Dalles is right about freezing and moderate/heavy snow as of now! I’m at 450’ in The Dalles rain switched to all snow around 11:30am. 1.5” new since then.
Thank you Rod . Greetings from Astoria,Or We like the way you break everything down for us in detail. That's why we watch you everyday. We appreciate you. Thanks Rod .😊
Thanks, Rod, and Happy New Year to you and yours. Have you noticed some of the odd temperatures the NWS is reporting out of their KHIO station in Hillsboro? At 11:18 AM today, they are indicating 58 degrees F. They indicated a high temperature for January 1, 2025 of 62 degrees. We haven't seen temperatures out here like that at all. As the crow flies, I'm not even 3 miles from that airport. I have two outdoor devices that measure the temperatures and report back wirelessly. One indicates 43.8, another is at 44. Much lower than the NWS' 58. Most of the weather underground reporting stations in the area agree with my temps. 43 to 44. With KHIO the anomaly at 57.9.
Id intermittently planned to go out-n-about shopping;but the dark skies, clouds, rain just got me down…so I stayed home and took down 3Christmas trees, 1in the foyer, and the 2 bedrooms! Christmas is all put away…now I need nice weather to go shopping for Valentines day decor> Im a 60yr old, married 40yrs Native Oregonian(but living in B.G, Wa), and Decorating is my thing.
@@FYMASMD Better than an ice storm for sure, but better than snow? NO. I guess there are those few that want it to keep staying mild in the valley, but not me. I want a snow storm in Salem, OR where I live sometime this winter.
Thank you Rod, Great news about the snowpack! always great to have you at the helm of our weather forecasts in this household
