I used to make circuits for thales until an American businessman bought the company and asset striped it putting 240 people out of a job. Now all the work is done in the Philippines.... Got to love big business.
This is why president elect is putting tariff on imports. So that the companies will move the factories into the USA. Providing jobs and cost-effective products. The socialist governments throughout the British Commonwealth do not understand this concept. They rely on taxing their own populations into abject poverty. I live in Canada. If this government gets yet another term in power. Canadians may be better off emigrating to North Korea! Followed closely by Australuans and British citizens!
That is why we in New Zealand don't trust American businesses. Twice what has happened to you happend to companies that I worked for . Never do business with Indian or Chinese companies also , as they will let you down just when you least expect it, whereas the Yanks are all smiles and capped teeth and are guaranteed to shaft you.
Great to see a new advanced sensor being developed. This system should, if technically feasible, also be integrated with a turret mounted C-UAS system, and then be prioritised for Integration onto Boxer and Challenger 3 asap.
Very Interesting,,, Algorithms and Mathematics,,used for high end Infra red cameras,, and Camera's used for tracking movement from great distances.. thankyou 😊
That's the public sales brochure. They leave out the fact it can read the serial numbers off the spinning props on those drones... and count how many occupants of a vehicle are wearing a better mustache than mine.
All hell here in just 10 years I bet we fight all our wars with just AI powered & operated bots of all shapes & sizes, drones, micro drones disguised as wildlife, and robots. We won't draft people anymore, but just a heads up, they may draft your kid's AI teddy bear older than 4 years & retrofit him for war with, or without your permission, so no emotional attachments please! Maybe my dishwasher will come back with medals & I'll be so proud to be the parent of a decorated war veteran & as a Gold Star parent I could get special discounts, may even decide to retire it & make it comfortable for the remainder of its days out back in the shed with no power.
How much does each weapon system cost? It feels like it's a situation where putting all your eggs in one basket is a bad idea in a world where drones cost hundreds of pounds and can destroy millions of pounds worth of equipment like this.
These will be put on vehicles with human beings in so it means that they can spot threats better, in order to better protect soldiers. Also they mention that they can set it to automatically target small threats, such as drones
Object tracking technology. That in and of itself is incredibly powerful for friendly/enemy drone ID and deterrance. You would also be pretty surprised how cheap some of this kind of technology can be for it's overall cost/benefit. Visual confirmation is more important than even the most expensive tank sometimes. I'd argue that's why drones are so large now besides their mobility and speed. However what use is even a 30 dollar drone if you're shooting your own ones down due to misinformation. I'd imagine for a military there is no price too high for optimisation.
Hmm, seeing the significant increase in RU drone interceptions by Ukraine, I wonder if the software tracking mentioned later in the video is in use on UA quadrotors? If so, impressive outcomes.
"waste"? this is necessary for people in vehicles my dude. this isnt the 80's anymore, you cant just pop you head out. having this capability is massive
so what should the budget be spent on? weapons that can't hit targets more than 500m away because they can't see them because these kind of systems aren't available?
Kill? Or perhaps think it as defending innocent people/nations from aggressors. This could create peace of mind for some, but actually survival for others. There are plenty of organisations developing your next gadget to make life easier for you. So, perhaps stop being so self centred and think of those that might actually need this technology Just a thought eh?
Investing in weapons *is* investing in making life better for us. Because it protects us from the enemies, like Russia, that publicly state they want to nuke us on telly every week. You muppet.
I would like to see it introduced to JGSDF armored vehicles and tanks as well.

If you can't trust an international arms dealer to act with morality and integrity, who can you trust?
I guess the 240 people had lifetime contracts? No?

This will really be useful on our basically unarmed Boxers.
Great to hear Scottish voices explaining the equipment…
It only missing a windscreen wiper. 😂
Now we just need a nation worth defending. One with borders, a culture, and a fertility rate above 1.4.
Great, they got the sensor. Now they just need an army to operate it…
This is a common problem human factors isn’t researched enough
Meanwhile, Putin is building more trebuchets, but the new ones are made of maple instead of pine and are much more durable.

Merry Christmas from Canada. Keep up the work. Brilliant.
Well, target tracking has been around for decades. But i suppose what it really can do is classified 😅
New Jersey needs this.

I think you'll find that true for old technology as well!

Not entirely sure what it would be defending, who on earth would go to war for the labour party?
You should know that the military doesn't go to war for the party currently in power, but for the country and it's people
To be clear, there is no AI here. But they can charge $$$ for it if they include the buzzword!
Why are you showing our enemies our new equipment's capabilities? 😒
That's the public sales brochure. They leave out the fact it can read the serial numbers off the spinning props on those drones... and count how many occupants of a vehicle are wearing a better mustache than mine.
So they can sell it to them of course. It’s a numbers game, nothing to do with defence.

None.
