I don't think I've ever followed a character's journey quite like Uhtred's before. Since I first watched Season 1 back in 2015, TLK, we have been bonded you and I. I tried everything with this video and took my time with it because I hope it does the character justice and is just a great way to celebrate the success of a beautifully made show. Well done to everyone involved!! I loved it. Now I can't wait to see England, my home, be born in the film!

One of the deepest lines I've seen on television.
Didn't have high expectations from this show because everyone was hyping up Vikings, but this is the best show I have ever seen, hands down. The characters, the story, the emotions just everything was top tier. The development of Uhtreds character from a young, inexperienced almost reckless warrior to an incredible warrior who has known suffering, being sold as a slave, seeing his friends and family die was the best character development I've seen by far, just amazing. I feel like rewatching all of it again and you know what I probably will. We've got the movie to look forward too, which I'm excited for but now I will say this: Uhtred, son of Uhtred, (and now I can finally say) Lord of Bebbanburg,

Sad the series is over. Really wish they did a season 6 to expand some of the plot points. The characters, particularly Uhtred and Alfred, were awesome.

Where does this sentiment come from it seems like its only just appeared the last few years... there used to be beauty in mystery and nuance. Tbh i thought they did a fantastic job wrapping it up by the end of season 5. No need for a film at all imo. In fact I would say the introduction of the Scottish king and uhtreds decision to spare him was put there solely as an opportunity to continue the story. But uhtred lamenting on the ramparts of Bebbanburg to me was perfect, I almost worry that making a movie will ruin that final moment. Fact is they stuck the landing better than Vikings or Game of thrones... so my only point of contention is now they're gonna un-stick it. If anything, the conquest of bebbanburg should have been the plot of the movie, not the pretext to it
The ending to this show was perfect

Just finished watching the entire Last kingdom including the new spin off movie. oh man, its just a wonderful experience the entire series eith different emotion, its been a journey like as if you're in the early 10th century. I miss them, the seires a lot. After all,

I didn’t like this show at first, felt weird to me because Uhtred very much had plot armour but it grew on me over time and personally think the last season was amazing, best season of the show imo
Plot armor was required for him to be at EVERY EVENT between Alfred and Aethelstan.
The author does this with other characters in other series, Sharpe of Sharpe's Rifles covers the Napoleonic era and another series does the same for the US Civil war.
It's an interesting writing style and Bernard Cornwell has honed it as a craft.
I love his writing style in this sense; documenting history through the lens of one fictional character.

I think the casting of this series was absolutely brilliant. And does fit the books too. I think the various Dune directors could learn something (anything!) about casting from this series.
Just in case because you never know who’s reading the comments lol, *SPOILERS AHEAD*
Let me tell you, I didn’t expect this show to be so FU*%#^G AMAZING!! I was randomly scrolling around Netflix saying to myself “I want to watch something Viking-Era related or similar” Looked at the title *The Last Kingdom* “Seems ight, sure why not” Let me tell you the binge watching was realllll 😵💫😵💫… I tried to slow it down to not immediately finish it and ruin the joy, started looking for other shows but they simply just do NOT compare. I mean I found a few worthy but barely any episodes yet. I am extraordinarily pleased with the ending, I really thought I wasn’t going to be and they were going to end it in some crazy unpleasing twisted way, just because of all the important characters they were killing off that I didn’t expect 😥😥.. I will never forget my shock and awe reaction of one of my most beloved characters; Queen Iseult… That scene still hurts me even though it was short lived.. After that I knew this show would be unpredictable with how things could go and which characters could be killed and what not. A lot of em pain me how they were ripped away from Uhtred’s life 🥺🥺😭😭..
Can’t forget to mention, I was glad to finally see him in the end, fighting with his people, The Danes. The Vikings and provide a land for them and generations to come!
A man that has suffered living in between 2 lives, with different backgrounds and beliefs, being ripped apart by his dissimilarity, no matter those distinctions, the rejection, the suffering and pain this man carry… He ultimately found his way, still became a symbol, a harbinger of peace, hope and unity across all lands and people. Truly a true King.
I gotta admit Uhtred always had the ladies 🤣🤣. I swear I was vouching for him and Eadith at the end 👀👀… Now we’ll never know 😭😭
It was a privilege to witness this show till the very end. ❤️ This show was and is definitely underrated.

The best series I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. I like to think that there used to be many warriors just like Uhtred. His strong sense of morality, and the way he loved unconditionally. Such an honorable man, who was taken for granted his entire life. This was a great video, I try to get as many people as possible to watch TLK. It’s SO much better than GOT. Alexander became the most honest embodiment of Lord Uhtred of Bebbenburg. I loved him in the books…then I fell head over heels when I watched the series. I mean if I could love a fictional character…I would have. Lol…

RM Film, thank you so much for this great edit tribute! After season 5 I can't watch anything that's not TLK related. Anything else seems shallow and pointless. Your video captured with precision and emotion years of perseverence against all odds, and the triumph of love, friendship, loyalty and never giving up. TLK is the best TV series of all time.
Truly beautiful and very touching tribute, uthred started as my favorite character and I started watching and kept watching because of him but I am honest sigtryggr in just ten episodes stole my heart and the show in my opinion and become my favorite. Uthred is at second place and I love his bond and friendship with sigtryggr and how it ended between them. The parallel between them and voicever in the video is amazing and the video too. Truly great job. It would be really beautiful if you do a sigtryggr video or a sigtryggr and stiorra tribute ❤
The soundtrack you use at the end was amazing i wish it was used the whole 8mins honestly have watched the end more than 5 times the soundtrack and scene is amazing
I’d have had to use the same song four times to make up the minutes 😂 But it is beautiful, and I’ve wanted to use it for a while and it suits a emotional ending to the story.

The acting was so good I felt like it was the real deal. As much as hated that the series ended, after reading about the life of Uhtred and how his life ended, I prefer ending on this high note.

I loved the show - it was unlike and far better than anything else I’ve watched. They even managed to make me happy with the ending. Although I would love to see more of Uthred - this ending feels right. Like a natural order restored.

Absolutely an amazing series, I have loved watching Utreds journey. They have all been outstanding actors. Let’s pray that Alexander goes onto great things, and the other main characters,!

But it’s simply a vid just about Uhtred.
@@RMFilmStudios they were his backbone, his right arm, his conscious. When others saw how THEY respected him, it elevated Uhtred in everyone's eyes.
Remember when Alfred asked Steappa if he trusted Uhtred in S2E6?
"With my life, Lord." was the reply, no hesitation. It set Alfred back on his heels. It caused him to re-evaluate and recalculate Uhtred's power, influence and goals.
Good men followed and trusted Uhtred and as such, made him a better and more respected man. Other Danes were beheaded, Uhtred got trial by combat vs Leofric.

I loved the show from season 1 - 3 but season 4 I felt was the weakest and most unpleasant to watch. Season 5 started off a bit weak but finished strong and overall it was a magnificient show depicting someone who was very much human. He loved, he fought, he cried and he made mistakes along the way but throughout the series, most importantly, he grew. I will miss Uhtred and his men along with all the women that loved him throughout the show. They all loved Uhtred and was loved by him in their own way and they were all different showcasing the many forms of love. It was a most wonderful show and I will miss it all greatly. I look forward to rewatching it again in the years to follow and reliving Uhtred's destiny. Can I also just say that it was quite funny to see that Aelswith was the only supporting character to live to the end of the series.

The way they left it in season five there definitely is an option for season six. the way they left it as an open door with Uhtred ‘s son walking up on the beach there definitely is more story to tell. Netflix join the world and bring season 6 to us - it’s your destiny!
