Elgar, an interesting composer who alternates typically and romantically Central European tones with others with a vivacity that personally seems to me to anticipate Shostakovich, as in the triumphal final peak. But everything, however, shines with its own light. A composition that is not easy when the tight intersection of musical phrases requires perfect tempos both on the winds and on the strings. The test was brilliantly passed by the whole orchestra, including the conductor. The only "negative" note is the room, which appears as a somewhat shabby cube. Couldn't we give it a little more soul, color?
I was surprised by the whole performance. Because after things went well in the first half. It seems like they gave up the ghost and collectively willed themselves to the challenging piece.
It's a fabulous performance¡¡😍👏👏
Well titled piece. And to be sure well played. I am always pleasantly surprised by your work. Keep it up!
And thanks.
